Include information about whether the game was released physically Due to the different types of machines in the new console generation, this issue has become even more important.

Add Game Logos Hey!
Seeing that there are already both screenshots, and Artworks it would be great to also be able to add game logos.
I make covers often from official artworks so I usually end-up downloading transparent logos at the same time anyway. Thanks!
29 votesHey! yes this is a great suggestion, we’ve definitely been wanting to expand our Game Media coverage with logos.
Especially for PressKits for example. -
game music Allow a link to a theme song (or theme songs) for a game. For example a direct link to a song.
download link: http://gamethemesongs.com/song/download/12052
page link: http://gamethemesongs.com/Goldeneye007-_N64.html3 votesHeya! This could indeed be interesting, however there’s a lot of possible legal investigation to look into when it comes to music copyrights.
In the short term it’s hard to say how we could approach this. Long term we of course would love to expand our data and game info with music, sounds like an obvious fit!

Add a field for a URL for a Microsoft Store page As I was in the process of adding a game to the database, I was shown a list of fields into which I could enter URLs to that game's pages on various stores (Steam, GOG, Epic, etc.) but there was no URL field for the Microsoft Store. Why? The Microsoft Store has to be one of the most popular digital game sources. When IGDB adds a field for a Microsoft Store URL, I will edit the game's entry on IGDB to add a link to that game's Microsoft Store page.
2 votesHeya! Thanks for the suggestion, definitely a good one.
As a matter of fact we have plans this year to introduce stores, and possibly linking them to “Platforms”. You are correct that windows, XOne, X360 etc.. all have different stores so they would need separate implementation.
Stay tuned!

Add a way to link sequels and prequels There could be a way to link a game to another as a sequel or prequel, what would be good for game series like Metal Gear and The Legend of Zelda, for example. In the game page, there could be a place saying "Sequel to "game X" and "Prequel of "game Y".
20 votesHey! we had a chat about this internally and landed on the fact it could become problematic, so we wanted to double check your suggestion in more details.
How would we define the order within a series? As this could be seen either as chronologically by release, or by story. For example, MGS3 being the first one in the story, yet the 3rd one by release date. This could prove very divisive either way.
Another issue that could be problematic are differences in the order by region. Final Fantasy is an infamous case, where FFVI was released as FFIII in North America for example.
Was this the sort of approach you had in mind with such a feature? Let us know :)

Add gamepass / other subscription services Add information about if a game is on/included in a subscription service.
Such as gamepass or stadia (included with the stadia sub)
And if a removal date exists (as games will leave gamepass)

"Delisted" Game Status With other statuses like Offline, Rumored, or Beta, "Delisted" would help highlight titles that no longer are available to purchase, download, or have been removed from online stores. This would set it apart from, say, an Offline status where the Multiplayer or Online severs have been shut down, but you can still acquire the game.
Examples:
- PT
- Earthworm Jim HD
- Scott Pilgrim6 votes -
Add more game sources/websites Add more external game sources

Yes absolutely this is planned. While External Games and External Websites are separate they are closely related and may tackle them together. For External Games this will be a big focus for us going forward.

Have a Franchise/Series as a Category. I feel like there should be a general category for certain series. Such as Zelda, Mario, Megaman, RE, Digimon all under one catergory instead of individual games(unless they are a new). IGDB already implements this under what they call "Collections."
What do you think? People who play older titles but are a part of said series' community would be more in their line of audience. It's better than having them spread out in random places like Retro or Just Chatting. So instead of having massive communities around certain games, whether they are thriving or dying, you can have a continuous…

Add Russia as region Add Russia as region in release date. A lot of Russian exclusive games out there, and also those that do came out to the rest of Europe.

Add ZX81 as a platform Please add the Sinclair ZX81 as a platform. It is the computer that pre-dates the ZX Spectrum and came after the ZX80. It has a few classic games like for example 3D Monster Maze (the first or one of the first first person games).
If available I'd like to add games to that platform (which I own myself) to further complete the IGDB database.

Rework Genres and Themes Right now there seems to be some confusion with the available options for Genres and Themes. Some options are missing, others are in Themes whereas they would make more sense in Genres, and yet others are way too broad to be descriptive and informative.
My suggestion is first to determine what is a Genre and what is a Theme, and convey that to all the data contributors. I suggest to define "Genre" as something that indicates HOW the game is played (gameplay rules and elements), and "Theme" as something that indicates WHERE the game is played (setting and lore elements).

First of all thanks a lot for putting this table together, this for sure will become handy when we research this further.
We’ve been wanting to revamp our Genres/Themes/Keywords for a while, it’s a fairly big undertaking that implies a taxonomy upgrade.
We’ve discussed making use of a sub categories to avoid redundancy and more accuracy for example. While this isn’t on our radar just yet, i would say it is pretty high up our list of feature upgrade. We’ll keep in touch when we start this project!

Can u please add PUBG Lite as a new category? Can u please add PUBG Lite as a new category? Its a different game comparing to the original steam version of playerunknown's battlegrounds . My viewers sometimes are confused when I use the steam versions category, but I play PUBG Lite. These are 2 different games. https://www.igdb.com/games/pubg-lite

System Requirements info for PC Games I think System requirements tables based on official minimum and recommendations specs for PC games is very useful and important. It's a must have feature that will be used by a lot of users! :)

Early Access Release Dates Currently IGDB's release date options don't allow for tracking both a game's initial early access release and the date at which it was declared to be in full release — e.g. Hades was originally released in early access for Windows on 12/6/18 and went into full release for Windows, Mac and Switch on 09/17/20. Currently, there can only be one Windows release date. Not only does this create ambiguity as to which date a page should go with, but ultimately both are valuable information and should be included on the page – there are contexts in which users will want…
5 votesHeya!
This is an excellent suggestion, and in fact something we’ve been wanting to have for a while.
It is in our backlog to indeed allow for more than one release date, early access is a great example but it is also applicable to other game status indeed. No ETA, but absolutely something we will be looking at in the future!

Additional Oriental/Asia Regions. [HK], [TW] Noting the [CN] China region as well as [KR] Korea, but it is worth adding that releasing in mainland China is and has been EXCEPTIONALLY difficult for western publishers, which is why most devs have historically opted to release in [HK] Honk Kong or [TW] Taiwan and let those sales be an "in" to the region.
6 votesThis is interesting, so even though TW or HK release are a way to enter the Mainland market, they are actually different? in terms of content and/or release dates?
Sounds like we need to investigate this further.
If you happen to have example of some titles please share them in a comment in here as that would help. Thanks!

Live Streaming links for games It would be great if your database had a link to live stream channels for the game.
For example GTA V could point you to these links.
https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Grand%20Theft%20Auto%20V
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOquqcRMJmURiGfEnaitptg
https://www.facebook.com/gaming/game/grandtheftautov
Not sure if there are other similar sites... But also if you add this please open it up to the API as well!
Thanks!

Brazil and UK region for release dates Add Brazil and UK region for game release dates, because there are games released specificaly for those regions. Mainly Brazil, because there the Master System and Zeebo consoles have many Brazil only games released.

EAN Integration (bar Codes from retail versions) The EAN on the back of packages are a unique way to identify different versions of games. This could help to find details about a game and revision.
