Create a Separate Subscription for the Emotes Alone While Increasing the Emote Slot Capacity
Hi there,
Despite Twitch being all about the content that is created and streamed, I believe emotes serve a very important role in both communication and representation on other streams without being pure advertising, it's subtle but can really help a streamer grow.
This means that viewers can sometimes arrive from the emotes alone, and may not enjoy the content, and so the streamer and viewer will both miss out, the viewer doesn't want to pay a full subscription for the emotes alone, and the streamer will miss out on the revenue from a potential purchase.
I propose a middle ground that will satisfy both parties, and even Twitch as they take revenue from all sales: Emote Subscriptions.
Emote subscriptions can be enabled or disabled by the streamer, they are free to not use it if they so choose; it would be slightly cheaper than a full subscription and will provide the viewer with all tier 1 emotes.
Using this feature won't provide the viewer with ad protection as it's not intended to be used as a means to watch the streamer, but to simply gain access to their emotes to use elsewhere, therefore providing more "subtle advertising" on other channels.
I believe it would be beneficial to increase the emote slots by a fixed amount with the feature to further incentivise the purchase of emote subscriptions as a viewer may still not wish to pay the cost of an emote subscription if there aren't many emotes to use.
Thank you.
