A library of approved emotes / don't delete emotes when changing.
Lovingly lifted from the comments section of: https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comments/7x9vrv/please_let_us_change_emotes_without_deleting_the/
Two things -
Deleting of emotes when want to change them is a pain. It means subscribers lose one of the (few) benefits that are given to them at the affiliate level. It's just that the approval process takes so long, that not being able to use anything while waiting for approval stinks.
I think it would be great if we could have a library of previously approved emotes, so we can swap them out for holidays, etc. If you want to keep it to 3 active emotes for affiliates, that's all fine and good - even limit how often we can swap the emote (a cooldown, so to speak). It's nice to have holiday options, etc.
We’ve teased that we were listening to feedback that creators wanted a place to store all their emotes and easily swap them in and out of tiers without having to delete and reupload every time. Well, it’s finally here!
To help creators better manage their digital assets, we’re introducing the Library, which allows emotes that have been approved to be stored and easily accessible, even if they’re not active.
Library will be located on the Emotes page and will be available to all Partners and Affiliates. You can expect to access them in the next few weeks.
Yes!! Also allow people to use the same "emote name" when uploading a similar emote.
Changing the emote name everytime is a huge pain for everyone. (Remembering, bots, commands, ect.)

I'd love this option. I have to edit my  emote so that the hand is more visible in chat and having the old emote in place until the revised one is approved would be amazing. Then folks aren't missing out on one of their perks as a subscriber.
Agreed! It’s unfortunate if we want to swap for a seasonal emote and a sub loses their emote for a large portion of the month. :)
If a broadcaster wants to change what Tier an emote has the current method is "delete / resubmit" what if we had the option to move the emotes already approved to a different Tier instead of waiting again. I deleted my Tier 1 and Tier 2 emote, because I wanted to move Tier 2 emote to Tier 1 and then submit a new emote for Tier 2. Well my Tier 2 emote was approved then people couldn't read it, so I deleted it and submitted it again and it was approved again, but I'm still waiting for my Tier 1 emoted (formerly Tier 2 emote) and I should be able to swap their positions without having to submit them again for approval each time.

You want the ability to change emotes, become a partner. Stop whining and start working.
hey guys, I love the holidays and therefore want to redesign my emote to be holiday themed, but it isn't really worth it to me because:
it takes about a week to get the holiday emote approved
holiday emote lasts for about 2 weeks
then takes another week to get the original emote (that was already approved) to get approved again.
This leaves 2 weeks out of the month for subscribers to not have a emote to use. I understand that the holiday themed emote should be reviewed, but could we perhaps have a media gallery of some sort where the emotes that were approved can be automatically available without having to wait again?
implement emote sets.
Many streamers like to change out their emotes depending on seasons. Like putting in the Christmas emotes or Halloween etc. Make it easy to upload emotes into these sets and select which set is active at any given time.
So I often design chat emotes for people streaming on here, I want to be able to design holiday or temporary/seasonal versions of emotes that they can easily switch with a scheduled time or manually. The whole idea is that you can have several chat emotes, all that have been approved, but also be able to temporarily replace these icons with festive versions. This way they may normally have a cat emote but during Christmas the emote could be switched to one wearing a Santa hat. This could also come in handy if you play different games and want game specific emotes.
