A library of approved emotes / don't delete emotes when changing.
Lovingly lifted from the comments section of: https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comments/7x9vrv/please_let_us_change_emotes_without_deleting_the/
Two things -
Deleting of emotes when want to change them is a pain. It means subscribers lose one of the (few) benefits that are given to them at the affiliate level. It's just that the approval process takes so long, that not being able to use anything while waiting for approval stinks.
I think it would be great if we could have a library of previously approved emotes, so we can swap them out for holidays, etc. If you want to keep it to 3 active emotes for affiliates, that's all fine and good - even limit how often we can swap the emote (a cooldown, so to speak). It's nice to have holiday options, etc.
Thanks for the feedback! We’re happy to announce that the Emote Library is now live on the site.

I originally created my first set of emotes when I first got affiliate and didnt think I would gain the following I did, so I assigned an emote that a LOT of my subs/followers want to tier 3. But I dont want them to have to pay for it at tier 3. I would like the availability for me to simply say "reassign this emote from tier 3 to this open slot at tier 1" this would save the emote approval process MUCH faster in my opinion because of the duplicate emotes being approved.

I wholly back the idea of having a catalog of approved emotes available to switch between at will. It would lighten the moderation load before and after holidays and encourage affiliates to celebrate with their communities. The overlaying nature of the current channel points modified emotes are cute, but obviously don't fit all emote designs

Couldn't agree with this more and in the long run seems like it'd save the Twitch staff some work. I've been waiting almost three weeks to have my pre Christmas emotes approved again after Christmas.

As Affiliates we only get access to a few emotes so we, or at least I, like to switch them out every now and then to give subs more options. I never had to much of a problem doing that but lately the waits have been more then 2 weeks just to get one emote approved, which I think is a little much.
So if there isn't a way to approve emotes faster can there be a way to auto approve emotes for affiliates? Or maybe some way we can submit a bunch of emotes for approval just to have them in the system, then allow us to select and choose which ones subs can use without having to delete and resubmit new emotes?

Hey Twitch,
Can you add it so that if I had an emote APPROVED. I can keep up to 20 stored on my account, that I can "Turn On/Off" so I don't have to keep uploading and waiting 5-10 days to get one approved?
I would like to use certain ones for the games I'm playing
Thx@Twitch

I remember when it used to be less than 24 hours and my emotes would be approved. It sucks to go a full week or MORE explaining to new/potential subs that we "normally have emotes and I promise they're good!" ugh.

It has been a week since I submitted mine as well....I guess a lot of partnered channels are updating to Christmas/Winter emotes

The Twitch emote approval process is entirely too slow. We need an approval process that moves at the speed of the internet.

I think Twitch should have uploaded slots and emote slots, so people don't abuse of uploading emotes (example, +3 for affiliates and +10 for partners), and after the approval, you can switch the emotes freely without having to reupload (remember that emotes need manual approval for affiliates, and you can't even change an emote to another tier if you unlock another tier 1 slot, so double work for Twitch staff)

I would like the ability to rearrange my emotes from tier to tier. For example if something gets approved for tier 3 but i want to move it to tier 1 i should be able to in the edit menu move any approved emotes to a different tier. It is a royal pain to have to delete the emote to have to reupload it when it was already approved before to have to wait almost a week for the same image to be re approved.

I thought I was the only one ( https://twitter.com/SqueekySnake/status/1193287138101489664?s=20 ) but I agree-- having them set up as scenes might make managing themes easier for streamers and allow for better subscription numbers during events. It would also cut down on having to have approval since there's a group of emotes ready to go that have already been vetted, making it one less thing for the mod team to have to manage.

espacially Afilliates will profit from this. Cause if you have not that much emotes and have to wait up to 2 weeks for activation.... would be easier to switch between your already existing ones

Agreed! It gets annoying when you get a new emote and have to wait through the whole process again just to move things around or rename them.

AS an Affiliate/Partner
WHEN I submit an emote
THE database stores the emote
AND stores an Active flag
AND stores tier status
SO I can easily move already approved emotes around
WITHOUT having to go through approval process again
AND it doesn't need a new name. -

Instead of having to delete and reupload emotes when you want to fix something in the name or swap what tier they're in, just allow us to actually edit the text and make a drag and drop system so you can easily swap what tiers each emote is on. Don't want people changing the image cause they might make it something offensive? Then don't let them. Make them delete the emote if they want to swap pictures for them, but otherwise everything else should be easily editable. Don't want people editing the text to something bad? Word filters. Plus the emotes all have to be approved anyway. It shouldn't be a trial to change small details in your emotes.

Please add this feature! I'm waiting over a day now just to move an emote from Tier 2 to Tier 3. When you first delete the emote you have to wait to have the same code to become available again and then you have to wait again for the same emote to be approved in the different Tier.

It would be nice if they let us kept an old emote in place until the new emote is approved.

We can expand this idea a little more. Give affiliates and partners emote profiles. This way they can set up xmas, valentines day, etc. Months ahead of time and switch all emote at a click of a button and lock them into that profile for X days
