Make the sub gift badges permanent.
If you gift 100 subs and they run out, your badge disappears forever unless you gift a sub every month. But if you gift 1 bit, in 5 years you will still have that (ugly) bit badge. That sounds unfair to me. Make the sub gift badges permanent, or make it so that it will stay 1 month for every sub gifted (so for 10 gifted subs get the 10 gift subs badge and keep it for 10 months).

So I gifted 50 subs during the start of Subtember but now its gone? forever? unless I sub someone again? Whys that? And Twitch has done this now for years? Yet bits stay forever and are cheaper.
Seems fishy, Come on Twitch update this.

Found this through Googling as well. I'm surprised it's actually set up like this. My dinky bits badge is selectable through chat user options, but my high ranking gift sub badge vanished. Pretty scummy.

I lost my 100 gifted sub badge and it just feels like a slap to the face from twitch not only to the gifter but to the streamer as well !!!!

This is terrible, guess I might as well stop gifting subs now if I am going to lose the badge.

can we blow this up somehow so twitch sees it? its ridiculous that one penny will give you a badge that lasts forever, but a gift sub which is at minimum $4.99, will only give you a badge for a month. it's a huge slap in the face for people who choose to give not just to the streamer, but to their community as well.

I don't like how Twitch removes this either, so I set my chat to show subs and bits over the lifetime, instead of weekly or monthly. I think gifters and cheerers deserve it.

Glad I found this before I gifted more then one sub, I feel its a bit disrespectful of Twitch to do this. I will stick with cheering to support my fav streamers. Have Twitch even bothered to reply.

TIL this is a thing. It's really not user friendly to take away a sub gift badge if you don't continue gifting subs each month. If someone gifts even 10 subs, that's a badge they've earned and should keep forever.

I used to be able to just re-show the badge in the past, but it seems with the most recent update it is completely gone.
It seems a bit weird, since the Bit badges don't go away at all (and also, you can choose to show a lower one even if you have the higher).
It would be nice if they'd stick around, because even when we don't have any active gift subs, showing our support to the channel using those badges seems like the thing to do regardless (especially for higher badges)

I agree. I gifted 3 subs the other day to get my badge back, and it didn't even return and those gifts are active. This should be changed.

I agree as I have a couple people with over 1000 gifted subs!!! this is a huge deal and they don't even get custom emotes for the many thousands dollars they have spent.

Yeah this needs to happen. I don't get why Bit Badges are permanent but sub badges need to be earned each month
