More Customization
The top panel on the "about" page and the schedule page are bland to look at. I would love to be able to choose an accent color or add my own graphics, especially if the panels will not be on the main page. It takes away a lot of the individual expression that we're allowed with the current layout.
I’m leaving this topic open for the specific feedback presented, but just wanted to update that the team has added some more customization options since the launch, and will continue to add customization to the page over time. Thanks for your suggestions!

Please lock the panels in the About Section!
This is our page to give people a first impression of us - so you spend hours to design panels and make it all look nice and ordered on your page - until you have to find out that the panel columns change depending on everyone's screen size! So your About Section looks like a total mess for 50% of people. :(
PLEASE let us choose how many panel columns we want to lock in or make it to be the same panel columns for everyone, locked in place.

Let us choose the maximum amount of columns in our "about" panel section, or even better, manually tailor it to different resolution options, instead of making everything forcibly go left to right, and change the display order for every screen size. There are things I need to go exactly below other panel to keep stylish cohesion, and swapping from 3 columns (1080) to 5 (1440) or to 1 (mobile) simply breaks everything

I believe as being an affiliate or higher you should be able to customize your channel page more. As in having to choose a color scheme for you page or even added background affects to the about tab or something along those lines. It`s all about standing out, so i think we should be able to customize more things to be able to stand out more!

I agree on the comment here about accent colors, I just came here to post specifically about that, my point was the panels in the about page, when using markdown to make a quote in order to add a line to the left side of the text, the line shows up in the normal Twitch purple color, would be nice if it would be the same color as the accent color each creator chooses as it would fit more with the panels.

Would be good if we could customize the video layout under "home" as well, not only under "videos". I make my past broadcasts into highlights, for archiving reasons. But when I do that, almost nothing shows up in "home" for potential new followers - just maybe the one last past broadcast that I did, that I didn't archive yet. Other than that, new potential followers won't see any more videos at the "home" section of a channel.
Make it so we can customize the page better. Maybe one bigger video on the top for a "channel welcome video", and then make us customize what type of videos to show underneath the welcome video section.

100% This! We work so hard to make our banners and put information on it, that it shouldn't change. The recommended size now is more of a suggestion. Not only that but the "video carousel" blocks prime positioning for banner information.
I understand why they wanted to do the "accent color" to tie it into the color on the display as you hover on twitches homepage, but honestly it's the most distracting thing on the page. I changed my accent color dark just because I wish I could opt out of it.
Please twitch let us opt out of these options and layouts.
Thank you. -

It would be nice if the accent color you choose would be implemented in more places on your home page.
A little more explanation is because the main body of your channel page has the accent color as the background on the bottom/bottom right side of the page(not sure if it is actually the background as I am not familiar with it yet) also when you hover over the VODs it reveals the color once again.
I would like to see the accent color be shown throughout the home page a little more for example on the links for "Home", "About", "Schedule", and "Videos. I wish the links would represent the accent color as the text color itself and the underline (from what I can tell it's a bottom border element). It could also just be the bottom border or the text color.
It would be nice for the follow button on the home page to also represent the color that you have chosen. I know changing this element may be a bit of a stretch but I feel like it would add even more personality from the streamer.
The notification bell changing the that accent color if turned on would be nice as well. It is an SVG so it would be easily flexible when it comes to changing its color.
Also with these changes some people would hate it. As you guys are trying to make it more customize-able it would be nice if we could enable and disabled certain elements to have the accent color whether this is done through a virtual kind of "editor" page, or if it just enabling or disabling through the setting menu would be up to use guys as a team.
Thank you for your time and I hope my feedback helps!

Agreed. This makes every channel art previously created obsolete and I think that's quite unacceptable.

Due to the new layout, the old channel art I had custom made is now too wide/tall. It flows over the current expected banner sizing in both height and width. That, and the channel tone color on the right size is incredibly ugly, not matter what I choose. Why is that even there? I really want it gone.

Oh hey, I've just posted the same thing, without realising you'd already done it.

Maybe we can merge this into one idea post? One thing to note is that, right now, your channel trailer is the first thing that new visitors (non-followers) see, while everyone else sees a recent broadcast.

Hi,
I think the video carousel on your channel home page is great! However, I would like to have control on the order of content on it. I would prefer to have my channel trailer first to give a viewer the idea of what my channel is about rather than a 4 hour stream up front. Currently the channel trailer is last in the carousel so it would be nice to be able to customize this.
Thanks for your time!

The cards that fill the area previously occupied by the channel banner cover the majority of the available space. It's impossible to put any kind of branded image in there because it'll just get covered by the cards. This new channel page layout seems to seek to homogenize the look and feel of everyone's channels to the absolute exclusion of personality or meaningful customization.
My options for a channel banner now seem to be
1) My channel name a million times on a solid color background, or
2) A meaningless blob of color since I can't put my name or identity anywhere on it without it getting covered by the offline cards, and also it gets cut off abruptly at the bottom, and it's blurry AF.
Also, contrary to the assertion in your blog post, my settings page and the help page on channel customization have yet to actually be updated with any new guidance on file sizes or dimensions for channel banners under this new layout.

I think the home page needs to be more modular. When you're offline you should be able to display what you feel new viewers should see. Allow the extension system within the home tab or something similar so we can make our channel feel catered to our audience! I want to be able to put up an upcoming stream tab or even share some current information. Maybe even a news feed, so that streamers can communicate directly with our viewers without having to rely on things like discord communities or other social media. We need more options for when we aren't live!

Twitch...I like you. Seriously. But having the channel layout thrown around like this makes me really angry.
Here are a few points, why I don't like the new layout at all:1) I can't find anything on my channel - if I'm looking for something I don't want to look through a horrible amount of tabs to find it. Panels do the same thing as it is at the moment. I need info about the streamer? I look into the panels.
2) A stream schedule? For what? - Variety streamers like me don't have a fixed time-game-schedule. I'm streaming what I like on the day I like. Yes, I do have a plan for my streams, but that doesn't mean I need to tie in a game for that day. Same as before - my panels do the job.
3) We spent time/money/time and money for channel customization - why give artists a headache of redesigning the new channel layout? I've spent quite a lot of time on finding what fits my channel - colours, fonts, stuff like that. I edited my channel panels way too often. And now none of this should matter? I'm getting migraines.
4) A channel trailer doesn't necessarily bring the viewers back to watch - if I watch a channel trailer, I personally wander off to someone else who's live. So this doesn't help at all for me.
5) Why are there recommended channels on MY channel? - I want viewers to watch my content. Recommended channels on a personal twitch channel defeats the whole purpose of making the new layout an eye-candy.
So...please give us the option to completely opt out of this new layout thing, 'cause I absolutely hate it. Never change a winning team - my channel and I were a winning team, I had more viewers during the last streams than before. I found good ways to communicate my schedule and brought many viewers back time and time again. I'd either keep the old layout or completely opt out of using the new one. Because I'm personally on a rollercoaster that doesn't end with this. There are loops and tunnels in that layout (so basically if you want to find something - you don't) and I don't like it.
Listen to the creators and please revert the change. I don't want to have this layout at all.

I really enjoy how much cleaner the new page is, but currently there is no good place to put links to affiliated websites, sponsors, etc. I personally would like to see a lot more customization given to us on these channel pages.
It would be a nice addition to have custom rows for what previously existed in panels.
The ability to have rows of curated uploads, clips and highlights would be a welcome addition for those new to the channel who want to see more than the channel trailer.
Adding in a customizable layout (like in the videos tab) would help with all of this. -

As far as I could see, the Schedule is only containing a fixed week.
We are a group of Streamers using one channel with different games each day/week. Eventually it would be a nice thing to have the Schedule contain either more weeks - or have it based on calendar weeks.
Also it would probably be more accurate if you could set start and end times for each item.
Our Channel is kind of structured like a tv-channel, different streamers each day and it would be helpful if the schedule items would be as custumizeable as possible. (Streamtitle, Starttime, Endtime, Category, eventually additional info) -

I love all of the new elements that will be included in the new offline design. However, I am not in love with the exact layout of them. I would like to be able to move around my sections to best serve my intentions and my viewers that are viewing while offline. I think also you should be able to add panels to add further customization and to get a taste from each content creator.

It doesn't even make sense to not be able to customize how your front page looks.
Every streamer is different, the new layout takes away the key factor of diversity, imo.
Panels and Offline Screen should be visible immediately, without having to click on 'offline chat' or 'about'.
A lot of streamers paid for their twitch designs, to make it fit with their personality & stream. Taking that away from them is horrible.Make it an option to choose which layout you want. Make it more customizable. Add panel layouts/grids that every streamer can choose from, whether they want a row with 3, 4 or 5 etc. panels, so it will look the same for everyone.
And in general, it would be nice if Twitch could ask streamers and viewers for feedback BEFORE trying to make any changes.

I would recommend to make it more visible when the channel is hosting another. Especially for new people on twitch its often very confusing.
Solution idea: for example, I would show the offline screen with a transparent screen over it (so you can still see the offline screen through it) in the center of it saying "This streamer is currently hosting XYZ" with a button to show the hosted channel on the page you are on right now, like "show" - or "hide" if you want to check out the offline screen - because quite a few of us have information on it that we'd like people to see but we also want to host others! :)
OR at least just put the "hosting XYZ" in the center of the display, a teeny tiny button in top left corner is often not seen. As it seems its planned to be shown even less - a little note on the bottom of the display. This will lead to people being mistaken for their hosted channels even more! Don't.I like the ideas you put in, it will take time to get used to tho I guess.
Things I want to mention too:
- remove category in schedule and give option to completely disable it. Not everyone has a schedule, and changing it every few days will be a nuisance.
- more icons for About/ Social Media "Panel" (Discord, Artstation etc) + drag'n'drop changing the order they're in.
- background image behind channel trailer customizable
- since panel images are limited to a certain size, give the options to link panels that'll always stick together (one above or next to each other) or to put them in a certain order.
- bring back the "following" tab, I liked to see who the streamers follow and I liked to see my followings listed like it used to be.Thanks for trying to make our experience better! <3
