Getting affiliate should be about getting more followers and not more viewers
set the affiliate program just to 50 or 75 followers because twitch has a massive problem with correct viewer count, I have had like 20 people watching my stream at one time before, all chatting at the same time, and it only counted for like 2 or 3 of them.
I'm of the opposite mind set, I believe they should increase the average viewers to 5 over 30 days. Increase the followers to say 150 instead of 50 but those are mininum criterion that I feel so many people wouldn't hit and thus Twitch would lose out on money from subs and such. It's an okay, and very easily achievable target.
follow for follow will break that mechanic..... its about building a community where people genuinely want to watch you.
I disagree it should be not just about streaming but should be about streaming consistently.
I totally agree on that twitch need to fix the active viewer Count, I get 6/10 viewers per stream but it only says 10 I even made a new twitch account and got friends to login to steam and other accounts. 10 people logged onto the stream but showed as 3??? I’ve been streaming for about 2 years still trying to get Affilate! Twitch need to sort it out
Good luck to you all. Twitch math is fun. Even when themselves come into your stream. I have been streaming for three years just for an outlet but the viewer count will stress you out. Twitch can not count. They do nothing about the bots. They do nothing to help you as a up and coming streamer. I have reached out to them for 2 years now and still have not had a response but yet twitchshowcase still shows up in the streams. I have even sent screen shots of bots trying to offer view to me but they are still not banned. Good luck too you all on them caring about you at all.
I don't think they should change it as follower count is pointless really. I have over one hundred followers but only 10 or less show up to a stream if I am lucky, it is usually around 2 to 3 viewers i can count on showing up do to scheduling conflicts and stuff. Also it is usually active viewers that become subscribers in the future.
i seem to be having a problem gettig the affiliate because of the 3 viewers everytime i get close i have some off days and it drops the count ive been close to 3 and in 2 or 3 bad days dropped right back down 1.something or sometimes even below the 0.9 im starting to feel like its a goal im not gonna be able to hit or have to actually cut down on the hours i stream im crushing every other thing but that one thing ive had as high as 140 people in the room at times and just cant get over that hump is there something that can be done about the count i mean i agree u should have 3 viewers but on bad days the subtraction of the viewers i didnt have that stream has got me chasing my tail with over 300+ streaming hours and 30 days streamed a month
I totally agree, most of my followers never came back to my stream. I have passed all the criteria except for the average viewer one. I'm at 60 followers and get about 4-5 different people chatting at the same time in my chat and it shows I have 1 viewer. Because of that, my viewer count stats are really low. It's like Twitch didn't want any more affiliates and that makes me kinda sad since I am trying to build a career out of this. I believe in myself and will not let anything bring me down.
Im struggling got all the requirements but struggle because of the faulty viewing situation..What should I do
The Count is wrong and faulty. I was at an average of 2.8, streamed for three hours with an average of 2 which dropped me to 2.4 understandable, but the following day I streamed for 4 hours with an average of 8 viewers and only moved to a 2.5. How?
You can have 700 Followers and still only 2 active viewers (Experience),
They have it set to 3 concurrent active chatters so they know you can and will grow in the future.
i agree on that they should fix the viewer count, but not on changing the requirements.
It shouldnt be about followers, they should keep it how it is. Just because you aren't getting viewers doesn't mean they should change it. 3 viewers is not a lot, and it proves you have at least somewhat of a community.
you need to have an AVERAGE of 3 viewers. not peak. in that case i've gotten to 6/8 viewer but my avg is 1,9.
I do agree with this because I have some bit of followers and at least 2 people at every stream but I cant get more than that its kind of annoying sometimes but I do know that you have to keep grinding.
Or just making the views less so lets say everyone who doesn't have twitch affiliate needs only 2 viewers a stream even that would make it much easier
Even over a 30 day period I'm noticing my daily averages go down suddenly when the post-stream summery says 3+ the stats now say 2?
That's why the stats are based on a 30 day track record. Hold that community for 30 days and that's what will get you affiliate! :)
