Viewer Count WRong
Hello, my viewer count always shows 1 maybe 2 viewers, however you can clearly see multiple accounts in chat watching. So not including viewers that don't have accounts, why is my stream showing only 1 viewer?

Hey everyone! Just wanted to pop on here to give some clarification.
Your Viewer Count reflects the total number of people watching your live broadcast, whether or not they have logged into a Twitch account. Your total Users in Chat reflects the number of logged-in Twitch accounts that are connected to your chat. In some instances, an account can be connected to your chat without watching your live broadcast - like chat bots, users in chat-only mode, or users in pop-out chat mode - which would then create a difference in your total number of Users in Chat and your Viewer Count. You can learn more about your Viewer Count and Users in Chat in this help article.
Thank you as always for the feedback!

Well, the affiliate avr. viewers is wrong, I always have two of my friends and my brother mod chat and then get Randoms all the time and it shows I avr .50 of a viewer.

As you can see at least 200 people have same issue but Twitch just doesn't care i think. These people are trying to complete affiliate tasks. If Twitch doesn't fix this problem, how can all these people become affiliate? My friend got 7 viewers. They're actively joining to the chat but we can see 2 viewers.

Having similar issue with viewers dropping to one or 0 when I have a friend or friends watching. If we just don't understand why it's happening an explanation would be appreciated.

I also have the same problem. Twitch does not count my viewers when they are clearly there and chatting even.

This affects us all, since many people lose interest in small streams when they see that there are 5 views when there are more people commenting in the chat

This is something twitch needs to fix, I was streaming the other night was raided by a friend for 64 viewers and by the end of my stream I capped out at 33. But the summary is telling me I only had 13 viewers. Twitch please fix your viewer system this is hurting so many amazing content creators.

same thing happening with me. What sucks even worse was I was at 2.8 viewers and now the average has gone down because of this

I had someone say that they clicked on my stream through browsing when it said 3 viewers, and in my stream it showed that I had 20. It never budged above 8 that night for me and the analytics “agree.”
Seriously, wtf. It harms my growth as a streamer, but more seriously, it hurts me as a person that I don’t even know I have that many people actually chilling with me because something so crucial isn’t working for some reason.

This has happened to myself, as a small streamer, myself and many others tend to lurk a lot of pages at once to help get everyone’s numbers up in an attempt to be seen, the way I feel, is if you have someone willing to lurk your page it must mean they also like the content, and think other people might too. But I’m the last month or so I’ll see that there are 10-15 people in chat, but only 3-5 viewers. While before the viewers was consistent with the people in chat, minus stream elements and things like that. Hopefully this gets addressed

Recently, I have noticed on a few streams that the viewer count number is inaccurate. Personally, I have not expirenced instances with the count being higher in any inaccurate way - however, I have experienced the count that is showing for viewers being much lower. (Example: Twitch may say I have 3 viewers, reality is I have 10, and 7 of those 10 may even be in the chat itself.) Unfortunately, because of this it suppresses the streamers viewability as well as tanks average viewer count for analytic purposes, including the tracking for streamers on the path to partnership. Is twitch aware of this happening? If twitch is aware, what is twitch doing to ensure accurate viewer counts? And lastly, for a view to be fully counted on twitch, would you please go ahead and inform the general public exactly what we as viewers need to do to ensure our views are being shown on our favorite viewers live streams (or what not to do), in addition to helping streamers be able to determine organic growth pertaining to thier channel?

Few things I have done some homework on. I thought my Viewer count may have been very wrong. Turns out. It is not.. You may only have one or two devices watching per IP address. To count as a viewer stream volume must be on for the viewer to actually count. Not sure if there is anything else out there but those are just two things that i know were affecting my views as a lot of my friends would watch my live streams ( 3 of which room with me ) and my other friends would watch ( with no volume on ). Just two small things that actually added up to more so what my viewer count said I was getting. Hope this helps.

I'm feeling this pain too, and it doesn't seem like Twitch is taking it very seriously.
