Viewer Count WRong
Hello, my viewer count always shows 1 maybe 2 viewers, however you can clearly see multiple accounts in chat watching. So not including viewers that don't have accounts, why is my stream showing only 1 viewer?
Hey everyone! Just wanted to pop on here to give some clarification.
Your Viewer Count reflects the total number of people watching your live broadcast, whether or not they have logged into a Twitch account. Your total Users in Chat reflects the number of logged-in Twitch accounts that are connected to your chat. In some instances, an account can be connected to your chat without watching your live broadcast - like chat bots, users in chat-only mode, or users in pop-out chat mode - which would then create a difference in your total number of Users in Chat and your Viewer Count. You can learn more about your Viewer Count and Users in Chat in this help article.
Thank you as always for the feedback!

Same here, thought some of my viewers may have been mods or bots but i can have 5-7 sometimes in the users viewing and gives all of their names as legit twitch members but only get 1 viewer in the summary and twitch bar.

I've been having this issue too for the past month, since they added the 'Notify Track Changes in Theatre Mode' thing. Even when I watch myself it goes from 2 viewers to 1 a minute later even when there are 3 others watching me, one on a phone and one other on a TV, the month before they were working fine but Twitch have been breaking things left, right and centre this month. Please fix this!

my channel analytics and affiliate checklist doesnt match. My analytics says that I already have 3.1 average viewers but my summary for my affiliate program still says 2.94. This is the only requirement I needed to get affiliate. I already gave it a day to update my affiliate summary but it still stayed 2.94

While I'm streaming I have up to 6-7 viewers simultaneously, but once the live is over I don't even get the badge that claims that I have hosted 5 spectators at the same time. This is frustrating for little streamers like me, because we are striving to grow but without any recognition. I only need the "average of 3 viewers" to become an affiliate, but this way it's impossible.

Happens to me all the time. I've had occasions where 4 or so people were talking but twitch was only counting 2 people. It is not that hard to program your stuff to accurately count active viewers Twitch. This is unacceptable.

Been happening to me for 2 weeks, and i was really hoping to get affiliate before my Birthday in a week. It's not even worth hurting my analytics even more than it already has to keep trying to stream. I guess twitch just doesn't want people to get affiliated

During the beginning of my stream (and likely during?) the user list and viewer count seem to be way off. It says there are only like 2 people in chat, but I see at least 7 or 8 different names chatting in chat. (So viewer count should be 7 or 8 and not "0".) It seems to take a minute or so to become accurate. How is it not realtime? Are viewer count and "users in chat" not handled through web sockets or something similar? Anyway I think everyone would love it if the accuracy of both was improved.

Cam twitch fix this please. I've been emailing for months and all I ever get back is a list of affiliate requirements. I don't need the list I alrdy know what is required and I've done it. Now give me my link for the 1000th time

I had the same problem to day. I had at least 3 active chatters. They had their volume on and where in the stream the entire time, but my count never climbed above 1. To the guy that says wait five minutes, we did. It was a 5 hour stream that people were in the ENTIRE time, but the count never climbed over 1.

It's things like this and behaviour like Twitch has shown in light of it which is why they will not survive.
Twitch is a livestreaming platform with nothing else to offer. YT, FB and Insta all have a full social media platform which allows the incorporation of livestreams into the rest of your social media presence.
While Twitch continues to ignore important issues like this, they will continue to alienate the small streamers until the only ones left are the high profile ones like Poki, Psy and the like.Heck, even Harris Heller has left because of this.
It's kind of sad, really.

I looked back in reddit and reports on the twitch forum. This problem has been here for many years and twitch keeps ignoring it even though many people have specifically tested it and proved that it is not just bots. I just recently went through the process to report the problem and I got a bunch of auto respond messages that pointed me to an FAQ page that describes how bots affect the viewer count. I responded by saying that i checked that and that wasn't the problem. I had 3 real viewers watch my stream the whole time with sound turned on and the stream only showed 1 viewer the whole time. I went through 3 emails that auto responded pointing to the same FAQ and then it said my issue was resolved. That is some BS customer service. Twitch please! Put some developers on this! I know what it is like as I am a developer myself. It is pretty easy to repro just have 3 people log in to someone's stream and see what the numbers change to.

Hay 8 personas viendo mi stream y me aparece solo 1 o máximo 2 ¿Están bajando mi promedio de espectadores a propósito?

I've categorized some as bots if it's a reoccurring name and if the account seems odd in general, I've also noticed that the same usernames pop up in my friends' viewers lists. Usually commanderroot, lemonjuices12, electricallongboard, discord_for_small_streamers, etc. So it could be that you're counting those bots when the names are actually irrelevant on the list. Other than that, the same thing has happened to me where it said 7 and 11 when I knew for a fact I had 4 maximum, then it dropped to 2, then 1, then to 3 and I just hope this doesn't affect my average for trying to reach affiliate.

It truly is discouraging, especially for small, new streamers that want nothing more than to build their own community. My fiancé’s stream constantly has at least 4-5 people watching, and I know this because it’s always the same 4 of us. However, 90% of the time, it only shows 1 viewer. It makes him not want to stream anymore, and I feel so bad because this is his dream.
