Give Streamers More Control Over How Channel Points are Redeemed and Used
I will preface this suggestion that I am comparing twitches current channel point system to Streamelements since twitch feels very limiting and we could do so much more with it instead of resorting to a 3rd party to use channel points which makes it inconvenient for viewers. With that being said comments saying just use Streamelements isn't helpful, i'd love everyone's actual thoughts towards this.
Currently Twitch's channel point system feels very limiting overall especially when compared to other channel point systems aka streamelements.
Part 1: Issue with Current Twitch Channel Point Earned System
With its current setup Twitch unfortunately fully controls how many points are collected for different actions and also controls how many points different subscriber levels receive instead of giving that control to the streamer. Which lets all be honest are terrible, the fact that tier 1 which tends to be the large majority of streamer subscriptions only get 1.2x and Tier 3 which is a whopping $24.99 only gets 2x channel points while being 5x more expensive.
Other 3rd party software (streamelements for example) on the other hand gives the streamer full control of how your points can be used and allows the streamer to manually change every value whenever they'd like. Let's be real who wouldn't love the ability to increase channel point during special event streams to promote more follows, subscribers, hosts ect.
Lets Compare:
Watching Stream (10min watched): Twitch - 10 points vs Streamelements - Any
Follow Bonus: Twitch - 300 points vs Streamelements - Any
Hosting: Twitch - None vs Streamelements - Any
Subscribing: Twitch - 500 points (Only Gifting) vs Streamelements - Any
Tips/Bits: Twitch - None vs Streamelements - Any
Are we seeing a trend at this point? Overall the fact that Twitch controls how many points OUR own viewers are receiving and doesn't allow the streamer to control it manually really feels unfair and ends up forcing some of us to go to 3rd parties instead of using the integrated features.
Part 2: Issue with Current Twitch Channel Point Redemption system
This one is a bit shorter and to the point since I've seen people mention similar things but to me it feels like it needs to be included in the same issue overall.
With the current twitch redemption system it feels limiting since we currently can only create channel point redemptions for things the streamer needs to do.
When it comes to the following things:
-Gifs/images popping up on screen
-Sound effects happening
-Ability to use commands to redeem channel points
-Subscriber Only Redemptions
-Ability to use Bits to redeem instead of channel points when you don't have enough.
-Ect.
We are unfortunately forced to use other platforms like Lioran Board, Stream Elements, Triggerfyre, ect to make all these cool unique things happen. It would be so much easier to have all this built into twitch so it can all be integrated together with the channel points instead of resorting to 3rd party software.
I'm curious what else everyone else things and what else could be tied into this idea!!
Thanks for reading through this entire rant! <3<3<3

Add the ability to customize how channel points are earned, the amount earned for what, and advance further into how they can be used. Right now channel points are Twitch-given solely which makes it hard to determine the right prices for rewards. I would love to be able to have Channel Points interact with built-in Twitch features such as emotes and badges considering Channel Points ARE a built-in Twitch feature.

What if twitch added a feature where the streamer could have times where there is a channel point multiplier or give out points. Example for a certain hour during the day, while they play a game or event, all viewers earn x amount more channel points. They could also choose to give out an amount of channel points to viewers during a stream. Just some food for thought, any similar suggestions are welcome in the comments!

Hello,
it would be SUPER if we could customize the amount of channel points earned over time and edit the amount to buy default items...
I would like to have total control on points so it's easier to give people chances to redeem something.
