Getting affiliate should be about getting more followers and not more viewers
set the affiliate program just to 50 or 75 followers because twitch has a massive problem with correct viewer count, I have had like 20 people watching my stream at one time before, all chatting at the same time, and it only counted for like 2 or 3 of them.

yeah im agree with this, idk why it doesnt count the views as it should be! Deberian de corregir cada aspecto de los "views" ya que no los cuenta de la manera correcta y no es la menare justa de conseguir el afiliado

same thing is happening to me - my average viewership on my channel dashboard should show 3.5 viewers however it seems to be stuck at 2.7. This has been the case for at least a week now...

I completely agree. I will have more than the amount in my chat that is says and chatting all real. but still no count.

Yeah this is a problem because I'm getting 10-25 people watching my streams daily but yet my average is only 1.1. I have 60 followers and I just need to get a 3 viewer average to become an affiliate.

Well George, not everyone has friends

George getting affiliate is not easy to get, I've been trying for the last 2 years, and sometimes they don't count all the views you get towards the viewing..

Getting affiliate is easy - 50 followers and 2 friends + you watching isn't hard to obtain. If anything, I feel that affiliate should be barred at 5 average viewers and 100 followers such that twitch isn't owing pennies to creators who will NEVER hit their payout.

i had such a case yesterday, the viewercount is the only thing left for me becomming affiliated, and yesterday i had an amazing stream with an avg of 2-4 people all the time, at least that's what my viewcount said, the statistics afterward told me i had an overall avg of 1.5 and some times of the stream even below 1???

@krissatiel theres a difference between twitch being broken and having a down day. I have multiple days were i have 12+ people watching and talking but only says 1 viewer or barely counts some of them. Today alone i had 16 viewers all talking and new but said 5-7 the whole time. it makes no sense and when over 100s of people have this problem its definitely from twitch's side. I've sent in multiple support tickets and the one they finally answered actually apologized cause they know their own detection system is BS. They answered saying lurking/muting the stream also counts as a view before you mention anything about that.

While I can understand those numbers, figures etc are there to help you build a community for being an affiliate, what I don't get it is why it IS broken. Yes it is broken.
Yesterday, I had 2 friends (no they are not bots! friends.) They both logged in and viewed my stream just to help me at least to protect my minimum 2 views average. Yet, all night long, I only got 1 viewer. Only 1. There is definitely something wrong with the viewer counter or the algorithm beneath it. Or they do this on purpose to make it harder for new affiliate candidates.OTOH, I do not agree with the follower number to be the main threshold which can be abused easily and in most cases seems arbitrary. I mean there are lots of people how have hundreds of followers yet with very low average viewers which makes it meaningless to be an affiliate since this whole system depends on real-time viewership. 3 AV and 50 followers might be perfect limits yet, please fix the real-time view counter.

How that work ? also how much that cost ?

Now that most streamers can pay to become affiliate through monster cat I think that you guys should make it eqsier to become affiliate with a set follower count since 3 concurrent viewers is hard to accomplish for low viewership streamers.

Pogzy1469 commented
yes, lower view average like 2, and make followers like 100-150

NuVoot commented
It is your average viewers, not the total amount of views u get in order to get an affiliate u have to have an average of 3 viewers which means that you need at least 3 viewers each stream not just for one but for each stream.

What he is trying to say, which was also happening to me, is that when you do a stream and you have like 5 or x number of viewers when that live ends, there are times that they do not tell you the average of that stream well and when you count monthly you are already losing for that stream that the average counts wrong. Or sometimes there are for example 5 people talking or interacting and the viewer counter does not go up from 1 or 2
