1. Streamed games in Analytics graph

   Game (Directory) needs to be a stat type for the analytics graph in Statistics Overview.

   I made a simple example from a screenshot to illustrate how it could look like.

   A fundamental insight

   With Twitch Analytics we get en insight in how our stream is performing but not as much insight about why.

   For many streamers, what game we stream plays a major part in areas like viewer count, chatmessages, new follows and more.

   This give us a way to investigate.

   Many new viewers browse our stream from the webpage where they only see a few hints of what to expect.
   One of them hints is the game we stream.

   Tracking what we play over time and opening up correlation with other stats is hold great insights.

2. [Experiment] "Views from Twitch" Panel

   We have some exciting news to share with you today - a new experiment! We are testing updates to the “Views from Twitch” panel on the Discovery analytics page. Gain insight into your impressions and views data when your channel is featured on the Browse page, homepage recommendations, and more.

   You will also be able to view this panel in the graph at the top of the Discovery analytics page. The new graph view is designed to help you better understand how viewers are finding your channel once they are on Twitch. By viewing information about these sources, you can get a more complete picture of how viewers are discovering your content.

   Here are additional added capabilities this experiment offers:
   1. A dropdown to dive deeper into the specific sources for sources such as Browse page & Front Page recommendations. For example, if your channel was featured in the “Speedrunning and Challenges” shelf on the Front Page, you’ll see the breakdown of how many views and impressions came from that specific shelf.
   2. In-product education to describe how data sources such as “Other” and “Direct” are defined, which was requested in previous feedback.

   We would love to hear your thoughts; specifically, we want to know if you find the graph useful, and if understanding how to use it is easy. 4. Category suggestions are not displayed correctly

   The category suggestions do not display the entire text on the PC. In the suggestions, the "estimated average position" is not visible, nor is it possible to scroll in these small tabs, so that you could read the full text. Maybe you should change the design a little so that there is really everything visible, otherwise the category is quite useless

6. Add textures to graphs in the analytics dashboard

   Currently the analytics graphs are not very accessible for colour blind people. While hovering over categories provides tooltips with more info, this doesn't help when it comes to static screenshots of the graphs involved. By adding patterns to each bar chart segment, this will make the graphs more accessible.

7. fix your viewcount

   your viewcount glitches out on even numbers. it tends to go to the next lowest odd number alot. i will viewers come in and suddenly i'll go from say 7 up to 9. if someone leaves i'll go down to 7 or glitch out even lower for a couple minutes. some times.

   someone joins chat and the number drops for a couple minutes before rubberbanding up to where it should be some times. i'll be at 6 someone will jin and suddenly drop to 5 before going to 7 a minute or so later.

   i will start stream saying 6+ people with guranteed atleast 5 people in the stream and suddenly glitch down to 1 viewer for 5+ minutes.

   i can't report this stuff directly because you have an automated "lol you're too dumb to tell the difference in viewcount and chat list" response with no other dedicated way to report it.

   this has been an on going issue for a long while now. i can't even count as a view in other streams on my computer itself due to your glitched out ****

8. Add Deeper Analytics for Ad Revenue

   Right now the analytics page just shows revenue gained from ads. This doesn't paint the entire picture and it's leading streamers to think that bias is occurring in their ad offers. This can be fixed by displaying ad impressions, declined impressions, fill rate, ad pool size for our category, and CPM on the analytics page. Descriptions for each should also be included to explain these mechanics.

   We're offered 55% of ad revenue but have no way to determine what that number is or how it is calculated. This leads to distrust in Twitch and the ads system. Giving streamers a clearer picture of the situation will let us decide how to optimize and earn more while repairing damage done by lack of communication. This benefits both Twitch and the streaming community overall.

   Having two monetized channels I found that one of them was getting 205% more revenue from ads on a per viewer basis. I had no idea why this was happening and none of my provided analytics helped resolve that. With this in mind I reached out to Mike Minton the Chief Monetization Officer at Twitch to discover what was going on.    During that conversation we talked about all of this and I realized how lacking the analytics panel really is for this revenue source. I feel that fixing this will help improve communication regarding ads and dispel a lot of the negative feelings around disparate ad rates between streamers. With Twitch moving towards a more ad centric monetization model this really needs to be implemented.

9. [Experiment] Research Tab & "Time to Stream" Analytics

   We're introducing a new tab called Research to Analytics in your Creator Dashboard. With it, streamers can view a panel that provides daily and hourly insight for the best times to stream, based on a particular category, in order to grow their audience.

11. Category Suggestions should have extra stats based on an algorithm without super popular streamers to make for a more accurate percentage.

    Catagory suggestions get their stats ridiculously bolstered by Streamers who play the game who have 5000+ viewers.

    I think the precise stats should still be displayed but other stats should also be displayed with the popular streamers cut out for a more accurate idea what the average percentages would be for the average every day streamer.

    Removing streamers who have a huge majority of the over all viewers for a specific game can give much more precise stats because the guy with 5000 viewers is a one off type streamer. I'm not going to get 100 viewers just because that guy alone bolstered the stats by an extra 50 viewers per streamer. That's not realistic.

12. Analytics of volume levels and suggest adjustments

    Some streamers have poor volume control and continue to broadcast at a low volume.
    We would like you to analyze the volume level for them, provide them with analytical information on how quiet their broadcasts are compared to others, and suggest adjustments. This could be done after the broadcast, but could also be done in real time.

    It is normal for listeners to adjust the volume on their own, but they have trouble hearing extremely low volume even when the twitch volume is set to 100.
    I do not want to increase the volume on my PC because the volume of other broadcasts and advertisements will be too loud.
    As a listener, I often suggest adjustments, but usually the suggestion itself is frowned upon. Also, taking the time to adjust during the broadcast will cause hate from listeners who think that volume is not a problem.
    They could simply listen to the other broadcasts after the broadcast and compare them, but they avoid doing so because they don't want to hear their own voices or simply don't realize the seriousness of the problem.

    I think it is hard to get listeners for novice broadcasters who are not good at adjusting their sound. It should help them too.

13. Improved/expanded tag information and analytics

    I love the fact that we can personalize/have our own custom tags now, but one thing we don't have access to is information about which tags are users actually searching? That would be a really nice research tool. Experimenting with tags on our own is good as well, but when the analytics page only shows us our top 5 tags over a period of time (when we can have 10 per stream and much more over a month) it's not the easiest to see what works and what doesn't. Being able to deep dive tags I think would help a lot more with discoverability on the platform.

14. Average viewers eligible for Partner consideration should be a stat available per stream

    We currently have the ability to see what our average viewers eligible for Partner (concurrent viewers not including hosts, raiders and embedded views) on a rolling 30 day average via the Path to Partner achievement. However, there currently is no way to see this number on a per stream basis.

    What would be valuable would be a breakdown of viewers based on source (views, hosts, raiders, embeds), similar to what we can see with Revenue

    The Direct/Other category makes up 90% of how viewers are discovering me on Twitch. There is no clear definition on what this is and how I can capitalize. More descriptive details on if its a link click from a social media post, from another app, was my stream shared etc...

16. Breaking Down Sub Analytics

    I work with streamers on analytical side of things. And it appears affiliates/partners do not have sub retention analytics. What I need is sub stats broken down in percentages, which currently I was provided information it breaks down some sub data but in dollar amount. Here's what I need in the following...

    • Organic sub
    • Gifted sub to be converted to re-occurring sub by "giftee"
    • Gifted subs to not convert to re-occurring
    • Unsub
    • Subs hitting anniversary, 6 month, 12 month, etc

17. In Depth Channel Analytics for "Looking to Reach More Viewers?"

    Right now after every stream, Twitch is showing you recommended games that could stream well for you. I really like this, but I would like to see it more in depth. Currently, at the end of a stream Twitch says game name Average Viewers|Channel: 11, Average channels: 549, Estimated Pos. on Browse Page 10"

    I would like to see something similar to this, but on a personal level, related only to my stream. So, then I can compare the games that I play to each other and make a decision to either continue playing a game or drop it and find another game. For example: If I play Call of Duty and Final Fantasy on my stream in a 30 day period, I would like to see stats that say "When you play Call of Duty you average 30 viewers and your estimated pos on the browse page is 139. Comparatively, when you stream Final Fantasy, you averaged 85 viewers and your estimated pos on the browse page was 79"

    This would be a big help in decision making when deciding if a streamer should drop a game or continue playing a game. I think Twitch is pointed in the right direction with suggested games, but I want to see it taken a step further and brought down to a more personal level for each streamers games of choice.

20. Category Suggestions Not very Useful

    The new category suggestions are difficult to read or unreadable. We are given 2 numbers XX:YY with no indication of what those numbers represent. The 2nd number appears to always be a 1 and the first number varies. But when trying to make a decision, is a low first number good, for example, 1:1, or are we looking for a high first number good, for example, 100:1?

    At the end of the block is a link to get "more information", but its false. The link just takes you to a general information page for the entire Analytics page, which has no information about the suggested categories section. So no "additional information" is to be found about the block where the link is located.

    A number without a definition of what the number is is useless and meaningless. I could say 10 something. Without a definition of what 10 is it's a useless number. Is it a distance, weight, number of viewers, hours, or vegetables in a cup? If it's a distance, what measuring system and unit of measure? This is critical information needed for a number to be of any use. Sometimes we can use context clues to guess, but if we still end up guessing wrong then that can cause an incorrect assumption to be made.

    There is text that 'suggests' the ratio might be views to hours maybe. So for example, 15 views per hour viewed (15:1)? Do we want a large ratio in this case?
