Allow Twitch Affiliates to Join Guilds
Please allow Twitch Affiliates to apply for Guild Membership. So many amazing content creators have a lot to offer to Twitch in increasing equity and participating in diverse events. Having the opportunities presented in Guild Membership limited to Partners further harms creators who have not met this goal. In understanding the necessity of Guilds, Twitch should also understand why the Partnership requirement can cause harm.
Twitch doing anything that isnt driven about PR and the bottom line, seems to be as likely as winning the lottery jackpot 10 times in a row...
While MANY things should be no brainers, given the exclusivity, and lack of inclusion because we just dont make them enough, it's quite clear that based on current actions that twitch really does not have any effs to give, their field is baren..
Maybe one day this changes, but until then, I will continue to use my voice here to call them out and support incredible and good causes like this.
Agreed. As a Black Queer advocate, I feel like I belong in these spaces, and many more do as well. There are so many talented and active voices that are affiliates. People say impact over numbers, but so many of these opportunities are gated behind numbers. Partner is a lofty goal, and it shouldn't make opinions way less or more. As you said before, Twitch knowing there needs to be an increase in equity created this program, but making the partner requirement isn't equitable at all. I'm really hoping they will change this.
it is so important for affiliate creators to have the chance to join guilds. for many marginalized creators, reaching partner can be very difficult as there are barriers to reaching the requirements needed for twitch partner (ie: disabled creators are not always "consistent" in their analytics due to the nature of their disabilities and needing to take breaks). not allowing affiliate creators to join guilds adds in more barriers to being able to make the content they want, and being able to make a difference on twitch. we need more access to opportunities for marginalized voices!!
This should have been a no-brainer
