Add tags for programming languages / genres
With the growing software developer communities on Twitch, we would like to add some tags to help with discoverability. Please consider the following tags:
- Desktop Development
- Programming Language: C#
- Programming Language: C++
- Programming Language: F#
- Programming Language: Java
- Programming Language: Python
- Programming Language: Rust
- Programming Language: PHP
There may be more that we should consider, but this is a start. I'll defer to commenters for more tag ideas.
Recommend "Programming" instead of "Programming Language" for all of these. That enables both languages and platforms/concepts, such as cloud service providers or architectures.
To that end:
- Programming: Accessibility
- Programming: AWS
- Programming: Beginner
- Programming: Database
- Programming: Go
- Programming: Security
- Programming: Serverless
General Engineering: DevOps
General Engineering: Infrastructure
General Engineering: Cloud
Target experience level
Programming Level: Beginner
Programming Level: Intermediate
Programming Level: Expert
Programming Language: SQL
(Doesn't have to be database-specific, but if it is, then T-SQL for Microsoft SQL Server.)
This is an excellent idea!
Love this idea! I'd like to also see a tag for Accessibility and/or Web Accessibility. I talk about it on stream on a regular basis!
That kind of live coder support is a great idea and sorely missed. Can I get some love for "Programming Language: Ruby", too?
Does it make sense to have a 'Technologies' or 'Frameworks' sub-categories like:
Technology: Uno Platform
Game Development (for indie game devs)
Programming Language: PowerShell
see @PowerShellLive and @BridgeConf
There's a decent community building up around it on Twitch (see @PowerShellLive)
Unreal if you are going to have Unity
This would be great!
how about "Back-end Programming", "Front-end Programming", "Database", "Programming Language: SQL"
Great idea. Another one:
* Programming Language: Swift
