Get a warning to follow and unfollow someone.
This would help people like me and others who use a mobile smart phone or tablet with touch screen help people who accidentally unfollow or follow. For example, "I unfollowed someone while watching them when I grabbed my phone, so now whenever I go back to look at my following section, he's not there." So, instead of having it so you automatically follow or unfollow, it will give a warning saying yes to follow or yes to unfollow and no to follow or no to unfollow. In my opinion, I think this is required with most of the things I have used that give warnings.
Thank you for all your feedback! We have launched an update that will now prompt you to confirm you’d like to unfollow the channel. This currently is only available for web, but we hope to add this for mobile/tv apps at a later date.
Edit: minor correction, this is also available on mobile =)

I agree. A tool to see the first follow date would be much more useful

I just accidentally unfollowed a Streamer I had been following for over two years while watching a recorded video of him because it had a heart icon so I thought it meant we had a way of adding clips to our favorites or something. I re-followed a few seconds later but of course, the damage is already done. :(

Just unfollowed my favorite streamer and best friend while going through his clips. It means a lot to me for how long I've known him. Sucks I can't see it anymore. Please implement this idea, Twitch.
Alternatively, at the verrrrrrrrrry least, please give us some sort of "are you sure?" message before you let us unfollow someone.

It sucks to lose years of followage with a simple misclick. Definitely shouldn't lose followage if you follow again minutes later.

I agree with this because I don't know what happened exactly but I guess I accidentally unfollowed a good friend who I had been following for about 3 years and it sucks to see that 3 years of follow time go down to a few days... It is truly a sad moment and I want followage to be based on the first time you followed rather than the last

Many people lost their followage when they misclick the unfollow button

Agree.
Followage should be counted since the first time of pressing follow button. -

Be able to fix your subscriptions, E.G if you follow someone and have been for a long time then you accidentally unfollow / unsub, AND you know the time frame you've been following you should be able to email twitch and be, "Hey, I accidentally unfollowed this streamer, I KNOW I've been following for 10 months and 3 days, please reinstate that."

A confirmation prompt to unfollowing a channel is needed as it is extremely easy to unfollow a channel due to the follow/unfollow button being so close to video quality and sometimes when switching between vods/live stream.

If you acciedently unfollow a streamer, this will not reset how long you’ve been followed. ex. You follow for a month acciedently unfollow then refollow you are still at one month instead of it resetting at 0 seconds

Be careful how you click and don't watch scummy streamers that do this.

Using PC I accidentaly clicked the unfollow button for my favorite streamer, now I cant type in his chat for it requires 3 months of following to be able to type and also taking away my "title" of following him for a very long time...

I can't be the only one who clicks the follow/unfollow button by mistake on the phone when you're watching a stream and are about to change the video settings. Please fix this.
