Do not implement a call feature that is on by default.

If you implement a call feature, make it channel-specific (as it is currently) and make it OPT-IN (as it is currently.)

  2. By default, all streamers can receive knocks by any other live streamer. This also means that all streamers get a "[username] wants to collaboarate. Click to accept!" notification while live, which is absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary.

Many streamers aren't on Twitter to even know that this feature was forced upon them, until some random person knocks and they're left confused as to what's happening live on stream, ruining their stream experience. They also don't know of the many steps it takes to "disable" it. Due to this, there are malicious streamers that are already taking advantage of this to harass…

  3. ALL OF THIS IS BAD. Not only does this feature FORCABLY turn on someone's webcam. someone has to disable it EVERY TIME. all these features are redundant or rife for the ability to be abused.

Colabs are already planned in advanced and discord already takes care of all of that. instead the Feature we have now is BAD.

Many Vtuber streamers are saying that this is disrespectful because it lets in harassment.

These aren't small streamers complaining that such things AUTOMATICALLY turns on a webcam. Some people don't want to show their face. Some people have vtuber rigs.

  4. Hi all,

Guest Star is a tool we're developing, which makes it easy, safe & fun for streamers to invite guests (viewers or other streamers) to join your stream. We have recently released an early version of the tool to a select group of streamers to help us shape the final product experience via testing the technology and providing feedback on the experience. To learn more about Guest Star, please visit our help article (https://link.twitch.tv/GuestStarFAQs); and for those with early access, please share your feedback on here on UserVoice!

  5. How to “fix” Stream Together/GuestStar/Drop-ins

First off, allow users the ability to turn off drop-ins, it’s not a feature everyone will utilize, and as such it makes it difficult for users to know which streamers are actually using the feature. If everyone has the icon next to their stream that is the same as no one having the icon. Streamers are currently working around this by setting the feature to “Favourites only” and then just having no favorites selected, there is a genuine benefit to allowing people to customize their stream to suit their community and having forced features undermines…

  6. With my vmix setup, I bring guest browser sources in directly and monitor them through vmix directly... but I'm getting duplicate audio from the Backstage browser window. Since I need to manage guests with that window, I can't close it, but if I mute them, it mutes them everywhere, so it would be cool if you could do a "soft" mute for Backstage, so guests still are heard in OBS/vmix sources, but not in the managing backstage side. I was able to achieve this by changing the OUTPUT audio setting for my browser to something random, but then I can't…

  7. 5 guests is probably great for talk/panel shows, but e.g. a raid party in Final Fantasy XIV is 8 people (i.e. 7 guests) so two members still need to be in Discord which then means you need to mute the guest star audio in favour of Discord audio and have audio sync issues.

  8. 2 requests:
-Guest Star currently sends audio output to the default device instead of the comms device. Have an option to send the audio to specific devices

-Create an OBS link for the host to share out their camera feed

  9. I don't know what is on the list of planned features for guest star but the ability to screen share and furthermore have that screen share as another source would allow people to show the camera of the streamer (real camera or obs virtual camera for vtuber/pngtuber or other stuff) as well as their gameplay allowing for a good old console feeling of watching your friends do games multiplayer.

I think this has great potential for collabs!

  10. "Drop In" launched with all streamers forcibly opted in (par for the course).

In order to make changes to these settings, streamers must add the associated widget in the Stream Manager page. This is an obnoxious design choice even for streamers who routinely use the Stream Manager page.

The Permissions checkboxes (Channels I follow; All Partners; All Affiliates) should be available to customize from the Stream Together section in the Creator Dashboard. The "Favorites" section already exists in both locations.

Additionally, streamers who choose to make use of this feature some-but-not-all of the time have to manually snooze the feature…

  11. Not sure what the intention was with this feature outside of collaberations, but its absurd that we cant turn off the feature permanently, and instead only for the duration of a single stream as said in the FAQ.

That means if, for example, i were to stream every day except for Thursdays, i would need to manually go in and turn off the knock feature before every stream to avoid random people wanting to collaberate. Now im not a big streamer by any means so this doesn't really even apply to me, but imagine someone with over 1K+ viewers at…

  12. Chrome is a resource hog and Opera GX (the only other browser that works with Guest Star) isn't much better. One of my guests maxed out her CPU running a game, VTube Studio and Opera GX, and so had to go back to Discord. It would be nice if there was a less resource intensive alternative.

If every streamer was given a stream key the first time they use guest star then they could use OBS or any other existing software which is going to be much lower usage and it makes it easier, and would also allow for things…

  14. Currently when using Guest Star the audio we get from the guests stream is really limited in terms of quality. While voice is slightly affected, other sounds (instruments, games, etc.) sound rather bad. The codecs used don't seem to work well for this kind of sound.

The current workaround is to use 3rd party apps to get decent voice quality, but this requires additional sources switching when swapping scenes/guests.

Improvement suggestion: allow creators to select a high quality option for the audio streaming.

  15. Bring streamdeck support to guest star to allow streamers to quickly switch to
Specific guests with one push, if possible, auto map each guest profile pic to that corresponding streamdeck button

  16. It would be interesting if you as a Guest, could share your screen to the broadcaster, but only those the broadcaster permit sharing screen.
Also it would be fun if you as a Guest, could copy the url code from the broadcaster camera.

  17. I first reported this issue with Twitch Support, but was directed here:

I have used the Guest Star function several times over the past few weeks, and have really enjoyed doing joint streams with fellow streamer friends. However, we have had several reports from members of our communities that when they were watching the stream from mobile, they were unable to chat, or do channel redemptions, and even the video was freezing. However, they could hear the audio, and were watching on low latency mode. When they were able to access their desktop, and for anyone else watching on desktop,…

  18. I had another streamer join the stream together but they weren't live but were joining as a guest, I could hear them and everything was going through fine but they were no longer able to see the stream content after joining and we couldn't figure out how to solve this bug. So perhaps the waiting room dashboard could also have a box for the currently being streamed content (of any streamer involved who is currently live) as options of sources, so anyone participating can view a stream if that is required for the content, but perhaps even be an additional…

  19. When you're the host of a Guest Star Stream and you can add the Browser Source URL for your Guests camera and mic. There should be a option for you to give your Browser source URL to your guests that have your camera and mic so they can add it to their streams. The exact same way we add their camera to our stream by copying the profile URL, they should be able to do the same and copy the host's Browser source URL to be able to add the host's camera as well as the other guests. Having a…
