audio only option for pc

Audio only option for pc. I know that they have this option on the twitch app, and i would want to see this on pc as well. Sometimes 1080p 60fps and 720p 60fps streams (without quality options) can result in high temps for laptops. Not to mention that this benefits people who want to hear the stream in the background without having to load the video portion of the stream.

    Like how there is already on mobile, I think it'd be a great addition to the browser experience for those who only want to listen to a stream's audio while at their pc while doing something else, so it doesn't use up their home internet's bandwidth.

    Yes, I would like this ideal it works perfectly who just want to listen to channels; and not running the video at the same time. This way it doesnt take up as much bandwidth.

    I'm almost positive you can get this exact feature if you just use Chrome. Google added a power saving feature to Chrome a while back (Chrome 57 I think) called "Optimize background video playback". It Disables video tracks when the video is played in the background (but continues to play the audio) to optimize performance, and its in Chrome for Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, Android. It's turned on by default so you don't have to do anything to enable it.

    Please implement this! When I get close to hitting my data cap for Xfinity, it would be nice to just listen to audio without having the HD video up and running.

    CMON! WTF?! I mostly listen to music and ASMR streams. I don't want to waste bandwidth on 1080 stream just to get the good audio quality.

    I would love it because I could save the sound source url on my Pc an hear the Livestream like an normal Radiochannel

    this would be good, because you can listen to streams in the background while doing other tasks

    And a lot of streams lag and buffer so you miss what they say
