Accidental clips
Place the clip button at the opposite side of the video frame than the other buttons. Most clips nowadays are a result of accidental clicks. Also, clips should be saved only if the user expressly confirms to save it.

How is this still a thing?...
I just found out that this happened, and now I know why I and some of my friends have a ton of "no name" clips without any content...That is clearly a bug?

looks like here too the real problem is that the clip tool publishes clips before you actually click the publish button. this is not expected behavior

The position of the Clip and Theatre mode buttons increases the chance a user will accidentally click the Clip button, when meaning to click the Theatre mode button.
The ideal position for the Clip button would be in front of the Settings button.
Since the clip button automatically creates a clip and uses AWS resources that Twitch has to pay for, I'd imagine you could see a noticeable difference on the balance sheet with this one change.
I saw one other post that relates to this:

I agree. This used to happen to me before I started using the hotkey and I imagine it happens to a lot of casual users so they don't say anything.

Yep. So annoying when you go to click on the settings icon to reduce the quality, then it jumps to the left and suddenly you've created a clip that now needs to be deleted.

THAT BUG ALREADY EXISTED IN FEBRUARY!?!?!? -

When you click "create clip" in a livestream and close that page, the clip publishs anyways without entering a mandatet Title or pressing "publish". how to fill your savespace with trash

Agreed that this is a pretty obnoxious issue that leads to way too many unintentional and cluttered clips. I feel as though the clip should only be published if the user has the intention of publishing it. If they don't, they clearly have reason for it. Maybe the moment wasn't that interesting/clip-worthy after all. Maybe they were just hitting the clip button to check what happened in the last 90 seconds.
Would love to see this issue solved so users don't have to spend so much extra time deleting unintentional/bad clips and to keep attention drawn to clips that have content value.

The clips interface states that you have to title a clip and click publish for it to be visible. However, the clip is created even if you do not click publish and closed the tab.
This results in accidental clips being created any time a user does any of the following accidentally:
* Returns to the stream and clicks on the "clip" icon
* Presses Alt+X
* Attempts to click "Settings" and hits "Clip" instead
* Attempts to click "Theatre Mode" and hits "Clip" insteadThis results in:
1. Users having junk clips they've made and have to sort though.
2. Streamers having junk clips of uninteresting points in their streams. In worse cases a clip is created of something that people would not want recorded; for example an accident on stream.
Reproduction:
1. Enter any stream
2. Press Alt+X or click on the "Clip" icon
3. Close the tab without editing or clicking publish
4. Go to your clips management page (https://dashboard.twitch.tv/u/[USERNAME]/content/clips)
5. Clip appears in the list despite user not having clicked publishResolution Expected:
A) The text on the page needs changing to make it clear that the clip has already been made and you are now customising it (and that leaving the page will result in the default one being saved) along with a link to where to manage clips
B) The operation of the page is changed to match the text so that the clip is not saved until the "Publish" button is hit. -

If you click the Clip button and then close the page, the clip will still publish. This causes thousands of clips to be published accidentally.

I was trying to make a clip of a vod but in the end I decided not to, then I went to the clips section of the channel and there was one posted with my username.

It's nonsense to publish the clip automatically when you haven't pressed the publish button and edited the video.

Yeah This happens to me a lot. Channels would load, and I'd usually go straight for the Settings icon so I can adjust to a lower resolution due to my bandwidth and/or reduce buffering, but the Clips icon loads right where the Settings icon was right as I click it thus creating a Clip on accident.
A solution to this would be to either place the Clip option within the Settings menu or place the Clips icon (get ready for this..) right above the Fullscreen icon.
