Allow Subscribers to make twitch clips from the VOD even when VODS are sub only
Sometimes subscribers aren't fast enough to make clips, and currently can not make clips from VODS that are sub only.

I set the VOD archive to Subscribers Only, and I myself can't create clips to my VODs anymore.
I find it totally absurd that I myself can't manage my clips as I think fit, and that my subscribers can do them but I can't. I believe that a creator should always be able to create as many clips as he wants, whether the VOD archive is subscriber only or not. I was shocked when I discovered it, really, also because logically I myself can access the VOD vision even if I'm not a subscriber to my own channel, but the clips are reserved for subscribers instead (if I understand correctly). it's really absurd, I hope this thing is fixed because it doesn't make the slightest sense. -

Allow channel owner to make clips of sub only vods. If channel owner chooses to make that public clip it is their choice.
Additionally, as other have said, it would also be a good feature to allow the choice of those clips being for subs or not. But at the very least in the current system, just simply allow the creator to make public clips.
I guess the work around is to temporarily turn off sub only?

You simply can't create clips from sub-only VoDs and get 500 error since all clips are "public", which make sense - in a way.
However sub-only VoDs are pretty common these days, you guys should have the stat for that.
It shouldnt be too hard to mark clips as "sub-only" too, depending on their originating source -

VODS THAT ARE SUB ONLY SHOULD ALLOW FOR SUBS AND THE STREAMER TO MAKE CLIPS! THESE CLIPS SHOULD THEN ONLY BE AVAILABLE TO OTHER SUBS! PLEASE FIX THIS BUG. I CAN CURRENTLY MAKE HIGHLIGHTS SO THAT'S AT LEAST GOOD BUT CLIPS ARE MORE MY STYLE

Bumping this - ran into this issue today. I cannot clip my OWN VOD as the streamer if it's in sub only.

I found a tweet that Twitch support mentioned this issue.
https://twitter.com/LostOutCast/status/1308826662432317441According to this, it is the intended behavior.
I don't want to call it a feature if a GraphQL error occurs and a blank tab is opened.Still, we need an option to create clips even if sub only.

Glad this thread exists, I was wondering why I couldn't clip things from my past vods. Really lame bug tbh.

How has this not been fixed, or at least addressed? Clearly an issue for a lot of people.

For example from LevelUpYourGame, this video is sub only at the time of posting this (less than 24 hours after recorded):
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1309134153?t=1h45m48sI cannot make a clip.
MORE, on the youtube vod of this video, I am able to make a clip, for example:

I cannot make a clip of my own channel when the vod is SUB only. Surely that needs to be resolved... Anyone who is a SUB should be able to create a clip from a VOD thats limited to SUBs. This should be a high priority issue

I have been a “Subscriber” to my own channel for almost 36 months and I can’t make clips of my own channel as the Creator in Sub only past broadcasts? This needs to be changed.

+1 I aggree with Rizoto. And it would be logic for SUBS to clip on SUB only VOD.

+1 adding that even Editors or channel admins should be able to clip from a sub-only VOD.

Right now, even if a broadcast isn't sub-only, if the resulting VOD is only available to subs, no one (not even subs) can make clips from it, according to what Twitch told me. If the creator hasn't explicitly disabled clipping, subs should be able to create clips from sub-only VODs.

Why is that during stream, you can clip; but when you clip from a past stream, there are errors?!?!

Still an issue for some streamers

As a subscriber of a channel that has the feature "subscriber only VODs", it should already be assumed this would include offline VODs, not only the current LIVE VOD. You should allow streamers to choose who can clip or not clip for an individual VOD. In which you have another feature already to choose subs only clips which should already tell you which viewer (sub or non-sub) could clip a sub only VOD while offline or live.
