Viewer volume mixer
Give the viewer custom volume level options for individual things for the stream to then let them change it to his/her liking. NOT just one master volume option. I'm thinking more along the lines of: "This is one for the viewers, Give them more flexibility."
If one viewer thinks the game-play/music/commentary is too low/high, they should be able to fix that without disturbing the other viewers or spamming the streamer to change a certain audio output level. (NOTE: This will only effect the viewer audio output. NOT the streamer/other viewers.)
Game-play audio (Self explanatory, change game play audio level whilst watching stream. I find some streamers have really loud game-play audio and i cannot hear the commentary.)
Commentary (Most streamers might not have the best microphone setup, this will allow the viewer to change the output to their liking based on how loud/quiet the streamer is.)
Music/Donation alerts (Most streamers like to have their own custom donation notification sounds, as well as their own music tastes that some viewers might not like. This will change the output to both, although i would like to see if they can be separated.)
If anyone thinks this can be viable by Twitch or if Twitch thinks this might be a good idea to test, please let me know.
If anyone can do something like this, itd be twitch. but maybe simplify it to just a 2nd slider in the UI, and allow the streamer the choice to include audio separately for the 2nd slider through obs or slobs and assign their choice of music source to that 2nd slider, allowing viewers to set volume independently as they please.
Allowing end viewers to control audio sources individually is such a great idea. I'd love to be able to mute streamer voice occasionally. This idea can probably go under Accessibility as well...
I've come here to make the same request. I'd love to be able to disable the music steam so i can listen to my own.
i don't know how to promote this but, it would be great :p
Came here to suggest the same thing.
We need this, to give viewers a mixer with different channels (ex: mic, game sound, music).
Personally, I hate watching streams with music
Watching your fav streamer is great but sometimes their music choice just does not work well. I suggest having a separate audio channel for streamers who are playing music in the background. By creating a separate channel (or w/e the right word is) the viewer can mute the music w/o having to mute the whole stream.
In addition to not having to rely on streamers to get their voice, game and music balance right. If one likes the music to be off and listen to his own, easy. And you can make it and "advanced" option so that people who don't want to bother with balancin the channels don't have to.
Whether it's music being streamed alongside a streamer's activities, or the depth of in-game volume you can hear over their mic. (I have no means of achieving the latter.) In regard to the former, let me give a shot at acting as if I know a little about programming...Would it be possible to allow the viewer to "modify" the volume slider located in the streamer's AutoDJ preferences @ nightbot.tv; through the means of a command in the viewer chat; i.e. !nightbot audio2 (value 0 - 100) ... a slider amongst the Twitch UI (above the current audio slider) would be preferable, but again, I have no insight to offer upon that digression...and I often get caught up in foreseeing the ability to personalize this feature custom to each viewer. Although, an ability to clone the coding needed for the slider @ nightbot.tv, then implementing that coding within the Twitch UI, as a secondary volume adjustment, would allow individual customization. Anyways, I'm speaking in circles, so I'll leave this as food for thought. I appreciate any and all consideration.
It would be great to let streamers send multiple audio channels. For example splitting game audio, streamer voice, music, and notifications.
Often Twitch is open to the side while the viewer is doing something else, and being able to switch off or adjust the volume of certain audio channels so they interfere less would be very useful, and make it more likely for users to keep tabs open.
+3 This is one thing I have been hoping for for a long time. I enjoy most streamers music, but there are times when I won't even watch a streamer because I don't enjoy the taste in music. Being able to mute their background music and play my own would incentivize people to invest in more streamers.
Copyrighted music kills vods for me (also sometimes streamers listen to music I really dislike)
The ability to turn off music and listen to your own, and still enjoy a vod without half the audio missing would be a game changer for twitch
I was planning to make my own topic until i saw your topic Octapoo
With the Copyright Content on Audio and Muting of channels
I would aswell like to see an seperate or multiple audio tracks added below the stream. And allow our viewers to set their own volume Low, High or Off
The Music should be provided by twitch and people can request to add Music to it, If they can provide information that the music they want added is 100% Royaly free
And Please let us add our own playlists or Multiple playlists selected out of the music Twitch makes available
So No More Vods getting Muted, Its Really hartbreaking if i have something i want to make a highlight off and half of it is Muted
Please TWITCH Make this available
I agree, perhaps separate audio streams would also prevent muting the streamer's voice in VODs when he's listening to copyrighted music. It would be beneficial to everybody.
I wanted to create the same topic =)
Multiple audio streams in a single video are supported by OBS and popular video formats, but Twitch strips alternate audio streams from video it receives and offers no way to select alternate audio streams while watching a stream.
This feature came about in order to allow videos to have audio in multiple languages, which is something any streamer is unlikely to do, but the availability of multiple audio streams can allow streamers to make alternate audio streams for other purposes. For example:
1. Those with poor hearing may benefit from a voice-only stream so that game audio, background music, and sound effects aren't obscuring the streamer's voice.
2. A voice-only audio channel may help Twitch create more accurate captions with speech-to-text software that may be confused by background noise.
3. Viewers with good hearing may benefit too simply by being able to mute a streamer's bad taste in music and obnoxious sense of what sort of sound effects are fun to have in a stream.
4. It's not impossible that a professional streamer with the right kind of show might want to hire a translator to open their stream to an audience that speaks a different language.
Might be something to take to StreamElements or something... as they do an overlay now for OBS.
Sometimes we do not like the songs that the streamer is listening to in the background, or we just want to let our songs play while listening to the streamer's voice
Basically a button that allowed to receive the audio only of the microphone of the streamer and allowed to leave on or off the background music
I second this. Being able to cut off sometimes awful streamer music and just see gameplay and listen to the conversation would be great. I have better music myself (with better I mean better suited to my taste)

Yep, I would love this. I just came on here to suggest the same thing!
There are a few streamers I would love to watch but their music kills it for me and so I don't watch their stream.
Introducing this functionality would open up streams to a broader audience, and could only benefit streamers
