Please do not remove the ability to cheer anonymously
Today (Oct 24, 2022) Anon cheering seems to have been disabled for some reason. Please do not remove the ability to cheer Anonymously.
Some of us like to donate bits and don't want to be "recognized" for it. Removing the ability to cheer anonymously will just make us not cheer at all.
If this was somehow something streamers were asking for, then make it a per-stream setting a streamer can toggle (but default ON).

Hey all! Thanks for this thread. We recently deprecated anonymous Cheering after we discovered it was being abused. While we understand some viewers prefer not being recognized for Cheering, we made this change to ensure a safer experience for those who were negatively impacted.
We’ve also heard your concerns on what this means for the future of Bits. This deprecation is not related to any plans to limit Cheering with Bits on Twitch, and is solely focused on providing a safer experience for our community.

Have option for streamer to toggle off/on anonymous bits
Have option for streamer to toggle off/on anonymous gift subs
Sometimes people gift subs to other accounts display account names to bully or TOS account names that haven't been removed yet. -

This is bad news. You are stripping streamers of ways to make income by taking this away. You are also moving people off of the platform to donate in lieu of Anon bits. I have several community members who have specifically asked that I do not post their names with donation totals as it can make them a target. FIX PLEASE.

There is always a reason for ananymous gifting... if you want to make a toggle sure, but don't remove it

Absolutely dumb to remove the annon feature. Some people appreciate being able to support but want to do it in a private matter. Let them...

Twitch really should make different changes instead of this

Please don't Some people get hounded for cash when they're generous and they need that opportunity to support people without being a target for manipulation.

I feel the toggle option is way better than turning it off.

If this is something to eventually remove bits and replace them, it’s a bad move. Anonymous cheering is a backbone for a LOT of creators and removing this not only hurts them, but gives you less money.
In what world does this make sense from a business perspective? Please twitch do better.

i dont want the attention or "for streamer to say my name" when i tip. there is literally no reason to remove this feature and having to attach my name will probably cause me to spend less on this site.

twitch, why you would remove an avenue to obtain money? what would your shareholders say about that? removing this would also alienate a large group of people that wish to remain private.

being able to stay anonymous with support is one part of the ecosystem that makes twitch a community.

It is such a great feature and causes zero harm to the streamer! Please do consider keeping this feature as some people also do not like to be called out by the streamer!

Not sure who's "brilliant" idea this was, but I don't forsee a way to replace anonymous cheering and subbing with anything "better". Stop fixing what isn't broken!!

please don't. Many people who only bit/sub anonymously will quit and that will be a loss of revenue for the streamers which also means a loss of revenue for Twitch.
