I'd suggest a tool so mods could accept or deny a bit message.

It happens that your streamer wants to roleplay but the chat is doing metagaming, right? Well, I used to think that sub mode or emote mode could've solved it, but there is always that enlightned user who sends bits and messes it up.

This case is the softiest. You also have hateful donos or spam that banning is not enough because if text-to-speech is enabled, the streamer ends up knowing.

At first my idea was to put all bits messages in automod queue so mods read them, accept them or not, but it's true that some streamers receive hundreds of donations so it could really be annoying.

So my final plan is to have a switch that allow the moderators:

1. Have control over all bit messages,
2. Have control over messages with banned words,
3. Not have control over bits at all.

Of course, if message is rejected, they get their bits back.

And this would be managed by the channel's owner.

As a part of our efforts to continually improve our products and creators and viewers build communities together, we are testing several possible updates to the Cheering experience. As a part of this effort, we are testing one of three prototype Cheering updates to a small number of hand-selected channels in order to observe how communities respond and interact with the feature. These three updates are:

• Cheer with Screenshot: viewers can add a creator-selected image to their Cheer to increase the expressiveness of their Cheer in chat.
• Cheer Message Size: viewers can choose how large their Cheer message will appear in chat based on the amount of Bits they use.
• Bits Rain: each Cheer will result in a rain of Bits gems over chat, the intensity of which is determined by the amount of Bits used.

These changes are intended to help us learn how new features like these might improve the experience of Cheering. They will be available only for a short period of time, and will not be expanded more broadly. If you encounter a channel where one of these experiences is available, please feel free to provide your feedback below.

I did not want to be part of the Twitch Cheering Experiment. I am a small streamer and rely heavily on my stream alerts gimmicks to fund raise. The Cheering Experiment has massively reduced my income and the platform takes a larger cut and it doesn't even do anything cool when someone donates.

Twitch sent a stealthy email on the 20th and only gave us til the 24th to opt out but I only found out yesterday. I can safely say I don't want to be part of the experiment and would like to opt out immediately. There should be a button to opt out. I can't even get support to manually remove me.

Really don't like the short notice and not being able to opt out.

I just purchased 1500 bits ($15 to streamer) for $19.95 -- a $4.95 markup. This made me think about the amount of bit donations vs. PayPal donations I've seen over the years, and the fees associated with PayPal are much more attractive.

Bits however are very interactive and entertaining. The novelty of getting a bit badge and having your cheer posted at the top of the chat is likely a reason why people choose to pay the premium. That being said, for every person that buys bits, the other person donates on PayPal because its cheaper. If Twitch wants to maximize bit revenue, they need to lower the margin from ~20% to as low as 5-6%. For comparison, PayPal charges 3.6%. I would happily pay double the premium for the novelty and enjoyment of bits over paypal if it wasn't so ridiculously marked up.

Sometimes it can be difficult to block and ban friends you know.
So, you need to block the route of sending messages through chat and sponsorship. In this case, you can still use Bits to chat.
There is a way to block the maximum request price, but most streamers want to use it delicately, so the required price is low, and it takes a little longer and cumbersome to access this part to change it.
So Bits needs a quick accessible pause function.

It would be nice if the streamer could set this in the chat window options to make it easier to access from OBS or Chrome.
Or add a chat command

I think that the bits of Twitch's own currency should remain and that the revenue should only be taken by Twitch, so that the streamers can keep the subscriptions as a source of income for themselves. Since taxes in Germany or England are very high, it is difficult to be able to get anything from them. At least for small streamers who have an affiliate but don't earn more than $ 1000 to say they live off it. The Twitch fixes on a source of income and says that Twitch gets and the rest of the little streamers. And that the US taxes should only be calculated when a really high income can be achieved. First of all, I would like to state that I am only posting this here because I couldn't find any other media to convey my feedback to Twitch about the matter. This page looks more like an "ideas" page than a feedback page, but as there aren't any feedback media, I will write about it here. After the recent Twitch data leak, some users have noticed unusual bits activity in some small streamers' data in the Turkish community. After a short while, more data were discovered and a whole money laundering scandal was uncovered. It was discovered that some small streamers were using the bits system to launder money by working with credit card thieves who use stolen credit cards to purchase bits, send them to said streamers and receive half the revenue. The rabbit hole goes deeper and deeper which is why I can't write the whole story down here but a google search should do the trick for those who want to learn more...

What I want to stress on at the moment is Twitch's attitude on the event. Let alone take action on streamers who took part in criminal activity (even those who admitted to it live on stream), Twitch did not even acknowledge the situation in any shape or form. There was a Twitter hashtag (#temiztwitch), which even went globally trending. Many big streamers quit streaming on the platform for 5 days in protest and Twitch still did not respond.

Coming to the actual "feedback" and the purpose of this post; I, as a frequent Twitch user, don't want to support such a corporation that does not take action to improve their platform or support those who want to. I understand that taking action on such matters can be very difficult as a corporation. However, I don't buy it as an excuse in the situation where about 10 million USD were laundered. By not receiving any response from Twitch, I feel as if the Turkish community is not being taken seriously at all, getting ignored because Turkish streamers do not generate as much revenue as global or english-speaking streamers... As a Turkish user, I feel disappointed and expect a response about the situation.
