  1. More modloader support across curse without being required to use forge.

Options to chose between modloaders and supported mods/modpacks such as FabricAPI, liteloader, rift and so on.

Each modloader having it's own mods and modpack area as to not mix them up causing compatibility issues without including Forge as we are required to use at the moment (since that has been the only modloader on curse for a long time now)

  3. You can MASSIVELY improve CurseForge simply by making the project search show whether something is a mod or a modpack.

I just now went out of my way to join a Discord server and tried to ask someone whether their mod Technomancy Revamped had the same issue as another 1.12.2 port of the mod called Technomancy. After much confusion and irritation on both sides of the conversation, someone mentioned to me that Technomancy Revamped is a modPACK, not a mod. The CurseForge search results give absolutely no indication whatsoever as to whether a specific result is a mod, modpack, texture pack, or whatever else it could be. I just wasted thirty minutes barking completely up the wrong tree because of this.

  4. Add a search bar back to the header.

On minecraft.curseforge.com there was a search bar in the header that allowed me to search for content by name/keyword directly from any page on the site. I used it all the time, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. As of now, it's easier to just google the mod and find it that way than to try and search it internally.

  6. Allow for Files pages to be filtered by Minecraft Version again

On minecraft.curseforge.com there was a dropdown menu on the Files page that allowed users to filter the files by which Minecraft version they were for. Currently, we can only view them by the order in which they were updated, which is frustrating for mods that are maintained for multiple versions.

  8. "Update All" button in mod list

When managing the mods installed in a pack, it's very common to want to update every mod with an update available. Currently, this requires scrolling through the mod list and manually clicking on all the update buttons, which can take quite a while even for modestly-sized (50-100 mods) packs.

A simple "update all" button, which could even be hidden in the "…" menu at the top, would make this so much less annoying and error prone (easy to overlook a button when scrolling).

  9. When searching, it would be nice to add a filter for the mod loaders

For example, we have the current options
Sort By: [Date Created, Last Updated, Name, Popularity, Total Downloads]
    Game Version: [1.14.2, 1.13.2, ...]

It would be nice to add the following:
Mod Loader: [Forge, Fabric (1.14.x), Rift (1.13.x)] or [Forge, Other]

    This would be greatly appreciated.
You could simply add a checkbox when uploading mods to the site to signify that the mod is not a forge mod.

  11. idk why the new Twitch layout sucks but here's some input

    Ignore everything below, or don't.

I see a lot of people don't like the new layout. Here are a couple of things I noticed or missed immediately after the layout switch: the site clearly prioritizes Twitch App users which is noticeable in the download button layout, and users can't filter mod files by game versions anymore. EDIT: the mod list is also missing pagination at the bottom of the page, and there isn't a "back to top" either. EDIT 3: no search bar in the header despite the fact that all file content is- nevermind, this is hard. I'm going home.

The whole update feels rushed and it's clearly a tangentially designed and developed layout that doesn't seem to learn much or hasn't been developed to the refinement of the OG layout. wtf guys come o-

The download button is an easy fix. Instead of treating every web user as a second-class citizen (especially if the user can't use your amazing app because it repeatedly fails to download Minecraft properly [macOS, hello], yay) just- use a better design. Instead of two buttons with Twitch accented, get an icon button, stick a divider in-between (like those settings and dropdown buttons) and stick the Twitch logo at the end. Both options are then visibly important and -- you know -- proportionally accurate. 😒

Also, the fact that the file game version filter is missing is what really makes me believe that somebody didn't even look at the original design before literally "generating" this new design out of thin air. I know redesigns are difficult guys -- that's why you don't do them half-heartedly. This is more for management and not the developers. I'm looking at you, Richard. Don't laugh Brett you're next.

EDIT: I completely glossed over the last flaw that actually prompted this post. Can somebody explain to me how someone forgot to add pagination to the bottom of mod pages? Not back to top either. Come on.

EDIT 2: I keep finding new things. This sucks. Let me start over:

    1. bad download design (web land is now second-class; there doesn't have to be such a direct conflict)

    2. missing game version filter in the file list

    3. missing pagination on the bottom of the mod list

    4. can't search from the header anymore and oh my god I see what you've done. You broke the boundaries. You maniacs. What have you done? Previously, minecraft.curseforge.com hosted all Minecraft content. Now www.curseforge.com hosts all file content and minecraft.curseforge.com only hosts community content (I think?) so now you can't include a search bar in the header ahhhahhghajadfadsf

  12. Optional mods in modpacks

When making a modpack it would be cool to have optional mods. This is a feature that exists in a few launchers I've created for other groups. It works by defining a flag on each mod (required, recommended, optional). Then when a user starts or installs the pack it asks if they want to enable the mod or leave it disabled.

The idea behind this would be to allow shipping mini-maps or performance fixed. While allowing users to disable them without unlocking the modpack and manually disabling the mods.

It would also provide a much better user experience. Along with a better comprehension of what mods are installed by default. Most users are not going to know to look through a mod list or that they can disable mods using existing features.

  13. Re-Add the ability to change font sizes and add lines in the text editor.

Aside from just generally being horribly broken, the new UI update removed plenty of useful features from the text editor.

Support for different text sizes was removed, and the Header section is very broken, making it extremely difficult to organize pages.

Horizontal lines seem to also have been removed for seemingly no reason. Myself and many others used these lines to help organize pages.

  14. Revert back to the old layout on CurseForge.

The new one looks like simplified garbage. Make sure to leave your reasons in the comments. 128 people voted for the old improvement and CurseForge didn't even consider it and just declined it. Starting a new one until they at least make the new site functional.
~Too much white space takes up the screen and is not utilized properly, leading to my next point. Text is too small, making this abundantly obvious. The UI looks like it's trying to fit into a phone screen, a device that doesn't use mods at all. This makes everything look awful from the notifications to the mod pages themselves.
~No text highlights like the old UI. Combined with the small text, it's harder to tell what exactly you're clicking on.
~Toolbar is nonexistent. Why get rid of something that worked perfectly fine? Why is the feedback at the bottom of the page instead of the top where everyone can read it? Are you trying to shield yourselves from any criticism?
~Notifications lead to the wrong version of a file. I want to download the main .jar file of a mod, and I get deof/API file instead of the one that everyone is going to use. Trying to find the right Minecraft version of a mod is insanely difficult to do, unlike in the old layout where it was neat and organized and wasn't shoved away to make room for the 3 files I don't need. This makes the files tab for mods confusing. It needs to stop assuming the mod files I want and just list all the mods like it did before. Files need 5 seconds to download? Why? Now you're purposely trying to irritate everyone using the site.
~If you're designers are somehow attached to this ****** layout, could you at least enable the old design and keep the new one? The old notifications are still active and that's the only part of the site I'm willing to use.

Post any ideas in the comments of issues I missed.

CurseForge is knowingly and purposely trying to **** off it's userbase by refusing to listen to what the users want.

  15. How am I supposed to search for mods now?

I'm not going to be one of those who demands an immediate revert to the old style, but man. Don't take out 9/10 of the features that kept me here in the first place. WHY did you do that? Stupid *** decision.

I was in the middle of a big project. I have to put it on hold now, because it's impossible to find anything on your site any more, let alone in bulk.

    • I can't find a way to search / browse mod authors any more. This is stupid.

    • Searches I'm CERTAIN are cutting out 90% of results, and they never have multiple pages, which is freaking ridiculous. Even when I search the name verbatim, and I know for certain it's on your site because I have a link that redirects, it still filters out. (I'm guessing probably because of Twitch sync-ability). If I want to search for "stone" I want to SEE the 300+ mods you already have listed! Instead I get 10. Why can't I do this?

    • Seriously. A default setting is not a big deal. BUT GIVE ME OPTIONS, make the initial choice for most your users, don't preemptively make them for me and make anything else impossible or a pain **********. Let me search by launcher, or author, or version, twitch-syc-ability, releases only, whatever. You HAD the ability to do half of those things already, and then you took it away.

    • I have to click into minecraft every time I go into your site, and it defaults to modpacks. That's annoying. Maybe it's normal, but cookies with a good memory would be nice.

I'm sure I'll find other things that annoy me, but really: This is out of love. This is the ONLY site I can find that is good for this purpose, building modpacks and the like, especially without worries of malware, and abandoned-but-not-clear items, preying on kids playing a video game, etc. What you have is needed. Or what you had is needed, now it's pretty much gone for my purposes.

What do I have to do to get this heard, and answered, and fixed as fast as possible? I'm serious here.

  16. API access to csv data

Right now we can export projects via csv 1 at at time. For developer like myself with 60 projects this is very inefficient and requires automation to get down quickly. What me and several other developers would like is an API driven way to access the data exported. This way we can feed it into other tools and software directly. As well integrate it with our sites for the projects.

  18. New Site Lay-Out Design Needs Some Help

The new website has some issues that really should be looked into. I made a bug report already and I know a whole new launch of a site is a "great thing" and I'm sure hard work went into it but these are just some further general thoughts that really should be considered:

    1) You have way to much white in my honest opinion. It is actually blinding. The contrast is just all off. Having a "Dark Theme" like you do on all the Twitch things I'm sure is something being worked on but maybe doing something about the sheer amount of just "white" everywhere might be something to look into. No I can't give you "exact" locations but often times when something jumps out at you and you can't explain it that generally means something is just off.

    2) You made changes to the entire site but was every BBC checked to make sure for compatibility? A couple aren't working like the "Spoiler" and the "Horizontal Line" I already made a bug report about this but if those two are broke there could be more. (Event Center seems to be not working on Chrome at least)

    3) Everything is just "simple" and I get it. Many people like simple. But there is something that can be "too simple." You are excited to have the launch of this "new site"/"fresh look" but there is no new functionality. Many of the authors who post here, know what we are doing. Perhaps adding some functionality for us authors to better get the mod out there. For the longest time I never understood. You guys have the widget api that allows you to post the Mod/Modpack Widget Externally, why not have a simple button for Authors to "Create Widget" so that they can post there stuff else where without having to generate the widget code and then iFrame it? Or perhaps generate an RSS link so that it can be posted on an author's website? (This may already exist and i think upon further thought it does, but you have to dig for it) These are just simple things that can better enhance this "new site/fresh look" idea, rather then just a skin change.

It would be very useful to have a reliable way of finding new mods on CurseForge. There is the ability to sort by the project creation date, however this is not the same as a project being new, and has many issues that can harm the discoverability of new projects.

To give an example, many mod authors will create the CurseForge project page days/weeks/months before they upload a new file. The reasoning from this can vary but it's often because they want to reserve the slug ID, or an issue came up in development which has delayed release. Another possible cause for this is the project being held up in moderation. When the project is finally approved, it will show up based on when it was created and not when it was approved, allowing new entries to show up lower in the order when sorting by date created.

Because of this, there is not a reliable way to find projects that are actually now to CurseForge.

  20. Allow Mod Packs to include other projects.

Mod packs should be able to include projects other than mods. The most obvious example for this is the already existing customizations project type. This category is meant for sharing mod configurations and scripts, however they can not be used or included in modpacks. Worlds are also a project type that would benefit from being includable in modpacks.
