  1. Default page on user profiles should be Projects not Followers

I don't really want random user profiles showing up here, it seems to make sense that the user who's profile your on's content is displayed.

  2. Comment User Metadata

Would be very useful if the user could post metadata when submitting comments to a project. Such as which version of the game, mod, and comment category (feedback, suggestion, issue, question) they are posting. This would give other users a better understanding if a complaint or feedback is based on the current or old version of a mod.

  3. apply project-denpendencies by alpha and beta files

currently project dependencies only checked by files set as "release" - when a file is set to alpha or beta and has file-specific dependcies it doesn't update project dependencies
example: BloodMagic relies on Guide-API - but as last "release" file was back for 1.7.10 there was no update to project dependencies although recent files for 1.12.2 has Guide-API as file-specific dependency
guess this is overall bad concept not suitable for minecraft mods as its most likely reused elsewhere for other games/dependencies

  4. Has Dependency Icon

Next to the mod download on main page there should be a small icon to say the file has dependencies. Right now if a user clicks the quick download option there is nothing to tell them there is dependencies. This information is hidden in the files page. Which very few users actually travel to check for dependencies. Many mod authors I've talked to have resorted to "HAS DEPENDENCIES" messages/links at the top of the page.

This could be solved with a little icon, maybe even a number, next to the download button.

  5. Display more Minecraft file versions on the side panel than just the three most recent versions.

When I first started using CurseForge, the right-hand panel showed the most recent download for EVERY major Minecraft release version, rather than just the three most recent versions.

Since my suggestion to allow file upload notification subscriptions on a per-version basis was rejected, and version filtering in the Files section is not fully implemented, this is the only feasible way for players of particular versions to easily see new uploads for their version of choice.

The three most recent Minecraft versions aren't even the most popular, so it makes sense to show a file download for all versions. Three is…

  6. "Update All" button in mod list

When managing the mods installed in a pack, it's very common to want to update every mod with an update available. Currently, this requires scrolling through the mod list and manually clicking on all the update buttons, which can take quite a while even for modestly-sized (50-100 mods) packs.

A simple "update all" button, which could even be hidden in the "…" menu at the top, would make this so much less annoying and error prone (easy to overlook a button when scrolling).

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to submit your idea! We already have MC 1.14.1 as a game version. As for fabric mod filter, we are looking into this suggestion internally and will update this page once a final decision has been made. Please add any additional details that you think would be helpful in the comments!

  8. Update the "Support Game Versions" dropdown for addons

When creating a new addon project, the drop-down menu used to specify the game version the add-on supports only has Minecraft 1.7 and below. The game is currently on 1.12 (which is in beta but is the most active version for add-ons)

  9. Allow the user to change file getting uploaded.

Currently when uploading a file if you pick the wrong file or need to do a quick fix you forgot about the file can't be changed.

It would be nice to have the ability to change the file instead of losing everything and needing to start over.

  10. Cleanup "Addons" and "Customization" for Minecraft.

Currently these are both vague and confusing. The only thing that might determine where something ends up is the sub-categories. These don't sub-categories don't cover Data packs thus they end up in both areas.

Vanilla related things like Loot Tables, Data packs, Resource packs, Worlds and such should all be in one area on its own.
The modded options should also be totally separate.

  11. Require Authors to pomulgate/promote their Current and Classic versions separately

It is somewhat confusing and rather annoying to look for changes in an addon you are using in the Current version of WoW, find that it has been "updated," only to discover that they've just added or changed the version of their addon for Classic. Addons for Classic should be listed separately, not lumped with those for the Current version of the game.

  12. Make alpha versions actually show in Recent Files.

It looks like the last updated time does include alpha versions of project files, but there doesn't seem to be a way to get them to show up in order to select an alpha version for details or download. This is probably why several addon projects have recent update times, but all available files (which does include beta versions) are days old.

  13. Add tags and generally improve seach

Hi, I have noticed that the search function on the website is atrocious to the point where it's more effective to use a search engine like Google with the 'site:' parameter than using your built in search function (no offense lol), but I think this could be improved by adding tags, and using a different or better search algorithm.

    Thanks for your consideration :)

  14. On each modpack files to be able to know exactly what version of the mod its being used

This will help mod developers as well as modpack creators as well as users, especially when a crash/issue happens and you need to know exactly which version caused the crash/issue

Also its just really nice to know what version of the mod a modpack uses... will help updating packs and pack management

  15. Poor Site Maintenance

Please try to maintain the site better. You seemed to be focused more on making a ridiculous looking site than actually keeping a functional platform. There are a lot of usability issues with this site that have yet to be addressed, and more problems seem to be appearing. You still have not fixed deleting comments despite it being well over a week since last reporting it (may have been known long before). Now uploading files (a critical function of your website!) seems to not be working (it literally just says "Error: error"). Someone else reported an issue of having the…

  16. Being able to customize the banner at the top of a project page.

Being able to customize the banner at the top of a project page would give us authors more control over our projects.

Though this banner shows that it's Minecraft related, you could most likely put what game the project is related to in the About Project section.

Example: https://i.imgur.com/mO3tilH.png (being able to customize the minecraft banner at the top)

  17. Arrow Keys for Screenshots page

Under the "Mod Name"> Screenshots page, I can't use the arrow keys to view the screenshots in sequence.

On the minecraft.curseforge.com it was working (Firefox & Chrome).

  19. Author Project Filter by type

Would be nice to have a way to filter by type on the author project page https://minecraft.curseforge.com/dashboard/projects as it can be a pain once you get over a set number of projects. Mainly looking for a way to search for mods or modpacks. As well exclude unsubmitted and deleted projects.

  20. Escape URLs in maven repository redirects

For projects with spaces in the name, the maven API website is sending a 302 redirect, and it is including the space in the location header of the HTTP response. It should be escaping the spaces in the response.

This means that gradle can't use mods with spaces in their name. For example, if I put this in my build.gradle:
    deobfProvided "v0ids-smart-backpacks:V0id's Smart Backpacks:1.0.6"

    Gradle gets the redirect:
15:46:41.075 [DEBUG] [org.gradle.internal.resource.transport.http.AlwaysRedirectRedirectStrategy] Redirect requested to location 'https://edge.forgecdn.net/files/2618/300/V0id's Smart Backpacks-1.0.6.jar'

But the URL is invalid, and it can't resolve it:
java.net.URISyntaxException: Illegal character in path at index 47: https://edge.forgecdn.net/files/2618/300/V0id's Smart Backpacks-1.0.6.jar
