How can we improve game mods and CurseForge?

New/Alternate Default Search Option - Rising

Right now the defaut search option is "Popularity". That makes sence, it's the most popular mods, it should be easy to find them.

This issue with that is that this list rarely changes, it's always these same 20 mods shown to the user when they first look at the mod list.

My suggestion is to replace the default sort with one called "rising".

Each mod should have a popularity score from 0 - 100. This score is derived from the mods downloads/views/other metrics.
This score should be updated every x hours/days/weeks

The rising list should be sorted by the change in popularity score from the last time it was calculated, with the highest change being at the top.

This should probably have some sort of barrier to entry (min downloads, time since creation) though, as a mod doing from 20 downloads to 40 downloads is doubling it's traffic but isn't really "rising"

This would give a healthy rotation of mods at the top of the list.
