How it works:
  • Choose a relevant category for your idea and check to see if any other users have already submitted this suggestion before creating your own
  • Be clear with your suggestion, provide examples and solutions to the problem you are posing. Suggestions without actionable feedback may be closed without comment
  • Upvote existing ideas, as opposed to creating multiple similar requests
  • Be sure to share your suggestion with others to gain more support!
  • Note: Suggestions are not guarantees that we will take action on an idea. We will try our best to communicate why an idea may not work, but may not always be able to share that information.
  • Titles that are unclear or unnecessarily vulgar may be reworded to better reflect the request for ease of discovery

  1. You should add the ability for viewers to take and share Screen Shots. That would add so much engagement and content and be helpful too. Make it so the Streamer or mods can pick what to show in chat and on screen.

  2. Overlay Expert Recommendation: You know how streamers shrink their gameplay screen to a certain size? That would be a nice addition. That's if it's possible of course.

  3. I’m not sure if this is already made but I was streaming on console Xbox to be exact and I think it would cool features if it gave people who don’t speak English well the opinion to have both the stream be translated and chat too it shouldn’t be just for Xbox give it too PlayStation and pc streamers too if there’s already one please let me know I had someone from Thailand and they barely understood me half the time please try your best to be accurate with captions on chat and not have people sounding crazy

  4. Streamers hardly know where to find the extension store. This means the work of many third-party developers goes unnoticed. Updates or newly released extensions aren't announced or made visible ANYWHERE on Twitch.

Third-Party tools can make a huge difference, please help developers by making it easier for them to be discovered.

  5. Hello!

I would like to propose implementing a better landing page experience for the Extension Discovery page which currently features the same three extensions for 3-4 months at a time with very little rotation.

I would propose either rotating the top three extensions more often (monthly).. or randomizing them with a larger pool of featured extensions that refreshes on page load.

This will help streamers more easily discover extensions they may not have seen otherwise.

    Thank you

  7. With more and more funny and useful extensions coming out it would be really helpful if the amount of slots could be bumped up by a lot, the 2 overlay, 3 panel is just not cutting it.
And if the mobile overlay use isn't coming any time soon, make it so that we can place an extension in both the overlay and panel slot at the same time, so that we can cater to both types of viewers.

  9. The Extension Action: "followChannel" currently only accepts the channel name.

    window.Twitch.ext.actions.followChannel: void function(channelName: String)

Most of the other extension APIs all use IDs and these are readily available in the extension from the JWT. With the way this API is designed, in order to use it you now have to make an extra network request against the Helix endpoint to get the channelName from the channelId.

My request is to make it so this action supports taking the channelId or that the channelName is exposed in the JWT token.

  10. Probably 95% of Bits are provided through Twitch Chat by typing e.g. Cheer100.

This way of using Bits is explained and well-known for Twitch viewers. Not allowing Twitch Developers to use the same functionality is a direct limitation and provides an inconsistent user experience.

For example, let's say we have a game called "Racer". Join the race with bits and race against other viewers. Viewers type racer100 in Twitch chat and join the race.

Every developer gets a certain code (racer) similar to the extension name, and the amount determines the action. The action list is communicated with !racer, more…

  11. Add it so I can make a comment to the twitch streamer without having to DM them on discord or whisper, please.

/comment Care for [user] being toxic in chat with [ ] .

Just would make things easier IMO and helps a lot if the streamer gets issues with running discord or any other issues.

  12. I've looked through the twitch-dev-discord. And there seem to be many people who like me want to use keyboard-events in their extension.

Keyboard-inputs would make a lot more interesting and fun games possible, instead of the current 5 million versions of the same quiz/sticker-extension.

Since keyboard-events are allowed in <input>, I don't understand why it isn't allowed outside of an input.

Also, I think the documentation should be clarified:
"2.3 Extensions may not use keyboard shortcuts to power functionality."

    What you mean is:
"Extensions may not use keyboard input outside of a input-field to power functionality."

  13. Viewers should be able to join the stream in a one on one video conference (in front of the rest of the stream) to be able to talk directly to the streamer.

Examples would include having viewers either donating to participate or queuing and when the streamer selects the option, the viewer is also casting to the stream to ask questions or just have a general chat with the host.

This could be a useful way to engage the audience further, encourage more active users and fills gaps between the load times on games etc.

  14. Right now an Extension's Discovery Page can only be in one language. It would improve the amount of streamers that would be able to discover an extension if the developer could optionally provide translations for various languages.

  15. I am curious why Twitch streamers are limited to 3 panel extensions. I hope there is a good reason, cause I feel like 5 sounds like a better number. There's a lot of super awesome extensions out that I can want to utilize, but the limited # prevents that. Any reason why it's limited to 3, and could it be expanded?

  16. I think a pronoun extension would be great a lot of streamers are using the chrome one but if it were a twitch extension you could view on all
Browsers and hopefully on the mobile app.

  17. Let streamers know when extensions are down, being worked on, or just plain removed. I've seen a few extensions that were working one day, but the next they weren't and yet were still there when you look for them. You couldn't get them but they were there. Then a few days later it was gone and yet streamers only know if they search for it.

  18. Make closed captioning (CC) a universal feature. Closed captions are a necessary feature in the current year. It not only helps deaf people but also helps people understanding foreign languages or reading something they missed while watching.

  19. I would really love to show people who watch me on mobile to see the overlays I made, I would stream so much more often, I worked so ******* that overlay just for people who watch me on their phone (which is nearly all of my viewers) to not see it. I don’t have the money for a pc so I can’t put an overlay on that way, so I’d love it if this feature was added to Overlay Expert on mobile. Pleassseeeee

  20. One of the main problems streamers of competitive online titles face daily is stream sniping. You see it across most main stream titles, from League of Legends to Call of Duty: WarZone. One of the ways this is dealt with, is the hidden map. On each game, streamers are finding ways to hide their mini map, or full screen map to avoid stream snipers. I am suggesting an extension which will allow subscribers to see past this veil. When I watch League of Legends streamers, I am frustrated because I am not able to see the mini map but understand…
