Google and YouTube has implemented this personalized setting to see fewer alcohol and gambling advertisements.

Streamers and viewers should have this option.

Be on the right side of history and support the health and well-being of your customers and employees with this option.

Advertising that can scare

I think it's okay that I'm supposed to watch commercials before a stream (despite being a Prime member). But I don't think it's okay to show ads for horror films. This can be disturbing to certain people, for example children, young adults or especially people with anxiety disorders. They can suffer enormously and are always triggered by such things.
It must be possible for the user to block this kind of advertising and see something else instead.
Yes, there are age restrictions, but people with anxiety disorders are not really catered for.
This should change to allow everyone to enjoy using Twitch.

Having PTSD, horror movie ads are triggering for me. Just mentioned this in the Twitch chat I was in, and someone else said they have issues with bright flickering lights as shown in the same ad as I was seeing. This idea as presented would not only make watching ads more comfortable in general if we are forced to watch them anyways, some of us actually suffer from these ads in the current system. Reading the other comments here, there are more examples of this beyond just anxiety or photosensitivity. I feel this idea should get implemented asap and I can't believe OP mentioned this 6 years ago already and it's still not a thing. I'm seriously considering ad-blocker in the meantime, for health reasons.

I love watching ads on Youtube where the ads are tailored to what I actually want. However, sitting through horror movie ads on twitch is one of the worst user experiences I've ever had on a platform. I'm 32 and male and haven't seen a single horror movie from start to finish in my entire life and plan on doing so. Watching horror film trailers or anything that is excessively gory and violent is just purely unacceptable. Please add a remove ad category option so I can see ads that I actually like and support twitch the way I want to support it. horror film ads will only make me hate twitch more, I will not watch ever a single horror movie film because I saw an ad for it on twitch.

Just saw an ad for candy man and another for another horror movie that i muted. With october coming up there really has to be an option to opt out of horror movies.

People have been asking for this for years now. I don't want to see Horror ads at 1 am right before bed. I don't care how much Candyman or w/e movie is paying you guys. These ads should not be on Twitch or should be able to be avoided. I'll watch Door Dash 100x before I watch a horror ad.

It goes to show Twitch cares more about money than the viewers since this hasn't been fixed yet.

I'm not sure where to put this, alcohol ads should not be played on a majority minor website, it shouldn't be targeting the adults that do come.

Please let us report ads! At the very least that. But better would be a "Stop Seeing Ads Like This" so that we can stop seeing things like, ads for RATED R HORROR MOVIES. Seriously, I'm having nightmares because the last thirty streams I've joined have had horror ads.

Please give us an option to remove horror movie ads

Update still can't sleep my anxiety was triggered because a horror film ad. I don't think I'll be watching Twitch for a long while. I know this post is bit unorthodox but, I feel it had to said that horror ads trigger anxiety and we should have an opt out or adds related to content we see.

Hi can you give an option to stop all horror movie ads and replace them with something else. I saw one today that made me very scared when I was going to a retro stream. I can't sleep right now and I am to scared to go back on twitch to watch my favorite streams for fear of seeing the ad again. For the record I am a grown women and I get scared easily.

I'm getting the same **** add constantly on Twitch, from the getgo the music on the advertisement was super annoying and at the moment I'm already 100% sure that I wont buy the advertised products due to the experience. Could you make it so that I can remove at least temporarily the commercial or indicate that I have no interest on the product and have it dropped of the list of commercials that get played.

There is a ad in twitch (twitch rivals) and i hate this ad. I am not interested in. I really don't want to see this ad but even though i clicked kinda "I am not interested" button, i keep seeing this ad. And this is really annoying.

Twitch has certain guidelines for content. Especially regarding sexually explicit content, even by prohibiting certain games. I am confused as to why they there would be condom ads presented on the platform. Also if the Twitch User ToS requires age 13, these ads appear inappropriate. Not to mention I specifically got Trojan ad on the Roblox category. A category which states the game is for users ages 8-18.

Yes please! I've clicked away from many streams before because I really didn't want to see the particular ad in front of it.

THE CONJURING: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT is not something I'd watch.
As BobRoss is not an adult content channel I should not be expecting adult adverts.

Please enact this to show support for those who are sober, on the path and otherwise dealing with alcohol addiction. Plenty of other sites like YouTube have functions for turning off Ads containing alcohol.
