Preferred/Disliked ad categories
I would really like it if ads were categorized based on content; I love seeing ads for things like pizza and restaurants, but I HATE having to sit through an unskippable ad for a horror movie/show. If ads were categorized, there could be a section in Twitch options where I could move different tags into "show me more" and "show me less" status based on what I do or don't want to see.

Update still can't sleep my anxiety was triggered because a horror film ad. I don't think I'll be watching Twitch for a long while. I know this post is bit unorthodox but, I feel it had to said that horror ads trigger anxiety and we should have an opt out or adds related to content we see.

Hi can you give an option to stop all horror movie ads and replace them with something else. I saw one today that made me very scared when I was going to a retro stream. I can't sleep right now and I am to scared to go back on twitch to watch my favorite streams for fear of seeing the ad again. For the record I am a grown women and I get scared easily.

I'm getting the same **** add constantly on Twitch, from the getgo the music on the advertisement was super annoying and at the moment I'm already 100% sure that I wont buy the advertised products due to the experience. Could you make it so that I can remove at least temporarily the commercial or indicate that I have no interest on the product and have it dropped of the list of commercials that get played.

Twitch has certain guidelines for content. Especially regarding sexually explicit content, even by prohibiting certain games. I am confused as to why they there would be condom ads presented on the platform. Also if the Twitch User ToS requires age 13, these ads appear inappropriate. Not to mention I specifically got Trojan ad on the Roblox category. A category which states the game is for users ages 8-18.

Yes please! I've clicked away from many streams before because I really didn't want to see the particular ad in front of it.

came to watch Bob Ross and chill out, was not expecting an unskippable advert for a horror movie first.
THE CONJURING: THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT is not something I'd watch.
As BobRoss is not an adult content channel I should not be expecting adult adverts. -

Please enact this to show support for those who are sober, on the path and otherwise dealing with alcohol addiction. Plenty of other sites like YouTube have functions for turning off Ads containing alcohol.

While viewers can opt out of watching horror content streamed on Twitch, we can't currently avoid horror movie/game adverts. Some kind of opt in/out system with advertising that can trigger anxiety or stress for people is incredibly important!

Can I please put in my gender or something to get rid of these annoying ****** ads I get being a guy not needing them of course and constantly seeing them making me want to leave the channel before I even get to watch.

Same with horror ad's for Movies, these are inappropriate for people who are not into that kind of genre and for it to play nearly every time is very uncomfortable.

Originally, there was a suggestion related to alcohol ads specifically, so you'll see ad comments related to this. Because this doesn't look good to Twitch's brand, they're lumped this in by closing that case and merging it with this case that is somewhat related. Hopefully the ad changes here will address my concerns listed below, but I am doubtful. I cannot advertise alcohol on my channel, and Twitch doesn't give a since concern over that.
The suggestion Twitch rolled this into was suggested "September 21, 2015" - That's how long Twitch has been aware of but has not done anything about advertising problems on their platform.
Twitch values its alcohol advertisers's money more than its customers. I have been receiving one beer ad for nearly a month now. I contacted that company and told them, as a recovering alcoholic of 8+ years I would never buy their product, and they agreed that it is a waste of money to advertise to me. Twitch doesn't care though. Twitch blasts out ads to whoever. Their gear-icon settings to "this ad is offensive" or "this ad is irrelevant" don't work because their algorithm continues blasting me with alcohol ads. I have reached out to support3@twitch.tv and their Twitter account with no success.

I second this. I've been wishing for this for a long time. I'm a recovering alcoholic and its really hard to see ads for alcohol related products. Everyone is different but it is extremely triggering for me to have it shoved down my throat like Twitch dose. Most of the time ill just close the stream and go to YouTube as I have some control over what ads I get on there. I think a toggle to turn off ads containing alcoholic products in our account settings would work perfectly fine. Its already taxing enough controlling the urges. I don't need to be triggered on my favorite entertainment website too. I really hope Twitch actually reads these suggestions.

Advertising on Twitch should not revolve around glorifying violence and fetishizing war crimes, especially in Pre-Rolls. These ads viewers see upon first entering a channel contain content from shows/games not appropriate for all ages, regardless of channel age warning.
This means Twitch is knowingly showing inappropriate content to minors as well as promoting violent content and endorsing war crimes.Twitch needs to clearly define what ads can be included in Pre-Rolls and remove/reduce these type of inappropriate ads from the new user/viewer experience.
Examples of heavily repeated Pre-Roll ads promoting violence/war crimes:
-Call of Duty Warzone
-Amazon Prime shows -

Some advertisements make people feel uncomfortable or nauseous. Users want to have the right to choose the advertisements they want to watch or block inappropriate advertisements

True.
I saw this ad ONCE and I was done with it. What sort of crossover does menstruation have with a gaming platform....? Leave it to local HS to tell you about tampons.
