normalize Ad volume with content volume
Not as frequently as before but still often, Ads play which are dramatically louder than the broadcast content. This is an annoyance, interferes with other people in the house, and frankly makes me more likely to mute the ad and go do something in a different tab.
Normalizing volume levels with stream average volume or peak volume wouldn't take a huge amount of processing power and would fix the problem entirely. It's required by the US's FCC in other broadcast mediums, but it's really just a quality of life improvement for the viewers and a mark of good production.

Setting this to a partial release status as the majority of ads on web and TV apps should now have normalized sound. We are still continuing the work on this and will update the status again when it is fully complete!

Somehow found my way hear, ears still ringing, pun intended. Currently there is an Advert for JBL that not only cannot have its volume change but the volume level is insane.
The ringing in my ears from wearing my headphones and having that blast in, to me, should be completely and utterly unacceptable. My desktop speakers also suffered damage from this ad.
I like ads, well, I like the way the system works to help provide free content. I'll even pay attention to ads for as long as they are relevant to me. So I'm not here to rant in general, this is about this and certain other ads being completely unreasonable, I'm not sure if even healthy/safe, my ears shouldn't be ringing like this from watching an advert.....
Please, please do something about this.

This ads is insane! The sound started as soon as the ads begin and it's so loud! You can't prepare before because it's coming at an unexpected timing! Are twitch even response to this kind of complain? I hope there are some alternative other than twitch for my live streaming needs

Whenever I open a Twitch stream I get an advertisement (of course.. *sigh*) but what bothers me most is that it will boom from my speakers INSANELY loud, even though the sound settings on my PC are @ 50% and the stream itself is on mute. I watch a lot of creative streams on mute so I don't cause any distraction to the people around me. Needless to say, the fact that your ads seem to ignore any and all sound settings but just blast my way anyway, is keeping me from watching streams. Fix it!

This goes for all platforms. PS3, Xbox One, PC, Android, all have the same issue of the volume of ads being so loud I have to dash to my volume knob to keep my ears from breaking...

I'm getting 8 minute blocks of ads and its the same 2 ads repeating over and over....the volume on these ads arn't in line with my current setting on the stream either so ontop of ridiculous spam of ads your ears get blasted. Like you said I love Twitch but this change makes me not one to explore any other streams than the one person I am subbed to. I understand the adblock affected your revenue but do we really need 8 MINUTES OF ADS IN A ROW!?! I am finding myself on youtube streams now which i never thought I would do....sad day...very disappointed in twitch.

Ads that are way too loud, unmutable and not possible to adjust sound at all.
This IS a real pain for me. Try having sound sensitivity and tinnitus + this sort of ads.
One of the most recent Way too high is huawei 9 commercial, there is more too.
I have had zero ad blockers, but Twitch.....
I have even shut down Twitch and gone done something totally else, due to high sound on ads. -

Twitch streamers have a pretty wide range of how loud their volume is. I often have to adjust my Windows audio up and down for different streamers.
When I have my volume way up for a quiet streamer my ears get blasted by an ad break.
Adding a default option for streamers to normalize their volume level to a set dB level should help solve these differences and make switching streams and viewing ads more enjoyable.

Just have the volume of the ads be the same levels as the stream you're watching, please. For weeks now I've watched streams on low volume before I fall asleep. Then a local ad with horrible music blows full volume in the middle of the night. I'm sorry to say but this ad has made me hate watching anything on your website whenever it plays I just turn off the stream I was about to watch.

The ad is way too LOUD comparing to the volume I set for the stream
I think it wouldn't be a problem to balance the volume between the stream and ads
Hope I don't need to be scared anymore soon. -

I know you're very aware of some ad providers for making their ads way too loud and disabling the video controls. WHY is nothing being done to it? Get your shit together, the loud ads are why I cannot and will not watch twitch in the evenings anymore. It's ridiculous for you to expect us to sit in front of the computer always having windows mute button at hand.

Ads appear too often and some of them are too loud. It's really annoying to see, you should really fix this.
