Until a couple of months ago, I could earn anywhere from 5-75 bits per ad watched while watching ads for bits on my pc. That was cool and allowed me to support my favorite streamers.

Then I installed the twitch app on my ipad. Big mistake. After installing the ipad app I was no longer able to watch ads for bits on my pc.

The 'watch ad' button is now permanently grayed-out when I try to watch ads for bits on my pc. I am able to watch ads for bits on my ipad but I only get 2 bits, which is not worth the time. I have tried uninstalling the twitch app on my ipad to see if that fixes it. No joy.

2 bits per ad is not worth it, so now I never watch ads and have re-enabled adblock on twitch.tv. I never watch ads on twitch anymore. I don't buy bits anymore either, and instead support my favorite streamers directly.

If this issue were to be fixed and if the amount of bits per ad earned didn't vary by platform, I would watch ads again on twitch and disable adblock on twitch.tv.

I wanted to leave feedback somehow and this is the only spot I could find to do it. Just wanted to say your gaining bits by watching ads idea is awesome. Actually, your entire bit system is magical. I really hate using PayPal to donate money to streamers, it's so slow and annoying to have to open another web page just to show some appreciation. Not sure if Amazon had something to do with that process or not, but I LOVE it. I just really wanted to show my appreciation, I really hope other countries will be able to share in the watching ads for bits system soon cause I know a lot of ppl can't part with their own money (or don't have any to part with) but would totally be willing to watch ads and earn bits to give their favorite streamers. I wanted to give feedback for you so here comes the idea.
People sit at your Twitch site every day. Watch a stream for hours.
with no ads. Because those people have adblock. Or something else that they do not get ads. Of course we already have a way that encourages us not to use adblock, namely Bits from short video advertising. Now come with the following idea.
Place an ad under the streamer. https://imgur.com/a/yeSqbL6 For example how I made it here. Making Twitch earn extra money. But how do you ensure that viewers do not turn on adblock? Well by giving their bits when they watch the stream. For example, get 10 bits per hour (can also be more or less). Because when they watch a stream they also see that advertisement. Which allows you to give away bits without your loss. Twitch happy by extra advertising. Viewers happy with bits that they get. Streamers happy with the bits that get a win win win situation we call that.

Ps Bits farmers can not be a problem. Set a maximum of the number of bits that can be obtained per week. Then it is solved that way.

It's been well over a year now since Bits were introduced to Twitch, and the ability to watch ads for Bits has only been available for US viewers only. I think it's about time the rest of the world can have this feature. Twitch is never short on ads, I always see an ad play everytime my favourite streamers go live. Ads for films, sports, video games, clothes, beverages, cars, the list goes on, and with Amazon being the proud parent of Twitch, having thousands of partnered companies, I find it hard to believe that they're unable to find partnering companies to create interactive ads for this feature. Especially considering that half of the products available in the US is also in UK and Europe (such as Coca Cola and Nissan) so reusing ads is always possible. I can't see why the east countries can't watch ads for Bits, and I think it's about time we get to help support our favourite streamers financially, without having to worry about spending money we might not have access to.
