Email My Subs Disabled
We are aware that the “Email My Subs” feature allows creators to send content that violates our TOS. To provide the community the tools to help keep them safe, we are temporarily disabling the service while we upgrade it with the safety and moderation features we expect in all creator and viewer touchpoints.
We would like to take this opportunity to hear your ideas around making this feature either safer or more effective! Leave your comments below.

Yes please bring this feature back it was a great way of staying contacted and the community engaged. Surely it doesn't take this long to put a filter on. A WYSIWYG Editor for the emails would be awesome.

Me ha pasado lo mismo, justo cuando iba a usarlo ya no está. Lo han quitado? No lo encuentro por ninguna otra parte.

I've been running a subscriber-only Discord server to avoid trouble, and it's been one of the most important features for people who don't have connected Twitch and Discord accounts.
Even for those who can't usually check the streams or SNS, it was a feature to make sure they wouldn't miss any events with email notifications of special events.
I can't even announce events that are exclusive to subscribers.
Please, I hope that this feature will come back...soon. -

Please bring this back, I really want to be able to provide a newsletter for my subscribers. I think perhaps banning certain links in the emails - for example, OnlyFans (which is believe is the sole issue), can help stem this problem?

Please bring back this service. It is one of the most essential tools to reach all my subscribers to notify them of changes and additions to my Twitch channel schedule. Having a weekly newsletter helps keep my subscribers in the know and has always been such a special touch.

I believe the issue revolves around GDPR, EU based privacy laws. As there is no law covering this particular issue in The States, as far as Europe goes, in order to publish a website or gain access to it inside or outside the EU, you must give consent to cookies or be given an option to deny or accept. Many US users will already be aware of this when accessing any EU website and EU users will be blocked from many US sites that either has no conformed to the law regarding the internet or refuse by way of their IT specialists to comply with regulatory requirements to do so. It doesn't quite fall under a picky way of doing things but just international compliance....such as the RFID chips in your passports to identify who or in this case where you are as a user and to comply with privacy settings. I would imagine once the Americas catch up with this law the email options will return.

Being able to send thank you’s, updates, stream info, etc...to subscribers is more important than keeping the community “safe.”
What’s interesting is some channels still have the ability to use this email function because I still receive them as a subscriber of other channels. I’d love to be able to do the same for the subscribers of my channel, but am unable to...curious, why do some still have the ability to use this when most don’t?

Come on guys, please make it appear again. I have 64 subs now and not all of them getting notifications. I would like to update them, sending gifts cards for steam or ETC, to thank them. Don't take this away from us. You can figure a solution for TOS violations easily.

Ok - this feature is under-utilised by many creators but those that use it really value it.
The ability to send an email (in confidence as we don’t see their email addresses anyway) is fundamentally no different to sending someone a DM, chat message or talking to them live on cam (as in, in each instance TOS can be easily broken). So this isn’t an email problem it’s a wider comms problem.
I give monthly updates and shout out the top 3 bits and sub gifters and I really think it’s a nice reward for those who have been generous (and also encourages more generosity).
So some feedback to make it more usable and safe:
- A clearer confirmation of specific things that break TOS prior to sending the email “Note that links to x, y and a are forbidden - do you confirm there are no such links in your email?”
- Add a link at the bottom of the email for recipients to report the any content that violates TOS (self policing)
- Ability to format 2-3 panel spaces with images (pre-sized, pre-formatted but user just needs to add the image)
- Message previewer (so broadcasters can see what the recipient would see prior to confirming send!)
- Ability for viewers to opt out of emails from creators from the footer of the email, and from their communication settings in Twitch
- Ability for recipients to quick respond by linking responses to the streamers mailbox / DM box (can only send one reply)
- Ability for recipients to provide feedback to the streamer in terms of the email content
- “Rate this communication”
- 1-5 stars; was this communication useful
- 1-5 stars; was this communication friendly
- 1-5 stars; etc etcBut please bring back the function ASAP!

Wow I can't believe it has been nearly a month and this feature is still not back. I have been sending email updates once a month to my subscribers, and particularly since some of mine are not using social media and enjoy lurking in my stream it is a great way to connect directly with them. There were some great ideas posted by ProfoundRice. It's such a shame that the stupid actions of a few have disrupted what was a great and effective feature for so many. I'm eagerly awaiting the return of this feature; now I have no way to reach these folks to remind them of my charity stream event on Friday as well as update them on other exciting events going on.

please bring it back, a contact by mail is a great and direct way to adress subs. it is even more personal to write a letter than contact people via social media

Line breaks or some sort of basic markdown formatting for the emails would be really appreciated.

Hola, por algún motivo el botón de "Enviar correo electrónico a mis suscriptores" no me aparece. Lo han eliminado?
Gracias. -

Any update? This was an amazing feature and while underutilized by most, it was incredibly appreciated by my subs. It was my direct connection to each one.

You could include a link at the bottom of the email to report the any content that violates TOS. You could also use AI to automatically scan images, and flag them for manual checks (like Discord does with images, albeit with many false positives). Banning certain website domains is likely not going to stop the problem, as people can always use custom links, but if it's possible to scan links (and redirects), that could help. Really unfortunate this happened 3 days before my birthday subathon :( Will this be up again before the end of the month? Or minimally before 30 days?

Will this be back soon? We want to thank our subs for the support before their subscription expires. As a small streamer this tiny gesture could make or break them resubbing!

tbh i still have no clue how i can disable this feature

This is really frustrating that you're disabling it for this long. These are people who pay their hard earned money to support what I do and I think it's important for us to stay in touch.
Many of my subscribers said they love getting emails from me notifying them of stream time changes and additional streams. I email them maybe 3 times a month on average. I sometimes give out really cool downloads and other perks just for subscribers. It has been a very helpful feature. Please bring it back sooner than 3 months! Thank you. -

Send a message to those who, for example, have subscribed to the channel for more than 1, 2, 3 years. You can also make a division for subscribers by level and send a message to a specific subscriber. And yet, you can make sure that when I send someone in a personal message to someone, then he will have a notification in the mail. Thank you.
