1. I can't verify my account with my phone number

   Hello,

   I would like to ask Twitch Support or whoever works here to look at their verification system because it just doesn't work. Two days ago I got a "A verified phone number is required to chat in this channel", at first I thought it was for the channel only but then I went to like 30 different streamers and its definitely site wide. After 8 hours or so, the verification lock disappeared and I was able to chat again, then today I tried to send a youtube link in a twitch chat and the lock happened again. The problem with all of this is the SMS verification system doesn't work at all, I've tried doing it with my phone number over 10 times and no SMS code came through, then I thought maybe its the mobile operator maybe, so I tried a different number and it was the same thing where I didn't get a code. I tried pressing "Resend the code" or whatever the button is and still with no luck.

   Now I don't know what to do cause I'm 100% entering the correct number, I don't have anything blocked, I have a good signal and my "Do not disturb" is off.

   Since i know a majority of you clue and dense twitch staff members are uncaring, unthinking bots, ill type this to the few HUMANS LEFT WORKING . 3. Customer service for special cases?

   Not entirely sure what category this falls under, but, I'll describe the issue I am currently facing.

   I can't verify my account:

   My new-ish phone number is tied to an account with a bogus username and email that doesn't belong to me. I'm stuck in a position where I can't disassociate the phone number with the fraudulent account.

   In order to do so, I need access to the account and this is where things get tricky.

   You can log in with your phone number via the app. If you don't know the username, you can have a text sent to you with that info. You can then attempt to reset the password and log in.

   I did all of the above, got the username, reset the password.

   Next issue. The account is linked to my phone number, but, the 2FA is sent to their email rather than, you know, the phone number and Authy that ALL of my other accounts are linked to. They can also see that I reset their password and with a single click undo my change and likely have enough time to change their username.

   Since I don't know this individuals email, I can't do anything. I've submitted a ticket, several, actually. The email starts with a letter nowhere even alphabetically close to any email I have ever created, which is how I know this isn't a matter of user error. The email obfuscation only adding to the problem.

   I've been bounced around in circles all day trying to get this issue resolved. I offered to talk to someone directly via the phone number in question, well within office hours only to be shut down by automatically generated emails with dead-end links, completely irrelevant to my problem.

   As for solutions?

   Aside from having a body with a pulse around to tackle special cases such as this, I'm not sure. A simple call back would have likely resolved this issue in less than 10 minutes. Instead, I've wasted a full day, created a twitter, hoping to get into contact with staff, probably sprouted a grey hair, maybe lost a few of my others.

   Pardon the obtuse tone, but, this is frustrating. I would gladly help twitch resolve these sorts of issues on behalf of those who aren't affiliated or partnered. I've been on this platform for nearly a decade now, Twitch CX used to be great.

   Can someone explain to me why you are supposedly not allowed to talk about 9/11 on stream in Germany? Is that true or not? Can't find it in the terms and conditions. Thank you

   This has been posted before and will likely fall on deaf ears again because there's money involved. But here I go trying anyway.

   Stop requiring users to hand over their phone numbers just to chat. I know bot problems are a convenient excuse to force this on people, but I still don't agree with it.

   I'm a paying customer. Have been for years now. Why do I still need to prove my authenticity by giving Twitch my phone number? Oh I know. Because data-brokers pay well.

   Let me put it this way: If I'm paying money for a service and I'm being prevented from using it until I also pay with information, doesn't that qualify as extortion?

7. doxxing to refute claimed audio

   You mind telling me why any random ******* can falsely claim any part of my stream audio and in order to refute that dmca claim, I have to doxx myself to them so they can run onto venmo with my info? 9. Make followed channels private

   I found out, that there are third-party-websites, where I can enter any Twitch-username (not just broadcasters), and it shows me all channels, that this Twitch-user follows. Everybody can use such a website. You do not have to be a developer or a broadcaster or a moderator. That means, that this information is public. I was not aware of this. I did not consent to this. I thought/assumed, that this information in private.

   This information should be private by default (not public by default) (especially if you are a viewer and not a broadcaster), and there should definately be an option for the user to make this information private.

   I only found out about this randomly. The normal Twitch-website (including my settings) does NOT say that this information is public.

   I find this very bad and very concerning. It also makes me wonder what other information about my Twitch-account is publicly available for everybody on the internet.

10. Being able to completely disappear for some users.

    This idea would basically mean that you have the option to not appear for certain users. Some of us streamers sometimes don't want to be associated with streaming IRL, the problem is that it is really difficult, I myself want to stream again but most of my friends does know my channel, they don't know I did streams but they would see me in stream as they follow me, I've been blocking them, ignoring them, banning them, but they still can have access to my channel page, to my rediff, clips and worse part, to my description with all my external links such as my discord server.

    It would be great to add a new features in privacy settings that allow users to choose to completly disappear for blocked users, that mean a user I would block would not be able to see my channel with the URL tab and the search bar, neither see my clips, diff, and external links!

    I do think It will improve some streamers safety, and will help reduce the stress of being recognized by a friend of ours that could randomly find our channel!

    Stop sending those useless "confirm login" nonsense codes. They do nothing to make it "more secure" or anything like that!
    Ist's just annoying annoying annoying and helps noone!!
    If someone wants tow-factor stupidity, one can choose that in the settings. I do NOT want this!!!

    Doing that just shows, that developers don't have a clue of real security!

    Federal law requires 2 SEPARATE METHODS for authentication, INCLUDING ALLOWING VOID! By forcing people to use mobile devices only Twitch is committing a felony.

15. Ban Policy should be reviewed

    Please review the current view on blocking user accounts. In the last few weeks I received two 14-day long bans simply because people joked around "what's gonna happen" and reported me. Appeals rejected both times. Sad thing is, I know about approx. 10 people experiencing the same thing. Something is obviously very off on Twitch these days...

    my idea is that support should either have a discord server so users can get evidence to why accounts are banned or support should actually send in the tickets the evidence. streamers like me getting banned for "violent hate speech" but no evidence to support the cases and ive tried appealing twice but both times rejected with no clear reason

17. Add Parental Controls and Supervized Accounts for accounts under 18

    Hello! I welcome the new Twitch guidelines and support people doing their own content, as long as it's labelled properly.

    Having said that, where I can see Twitch improve upon in terms of safety is something that Sony did a long time ago for PSN accounts: If you're under 18, your Twitch account has to be a mandatory supervised account by another Twitch account that's over 18. That way, anything M-rated and labelled with suggestive/sexual content could be forcefully filtered out for those supervised accounts and when the user turns 18, they get an option to remove said restrictions. It's not 100% fool proof, but it should help in giving parents more control on what their child see on the platform.

    hi first in my current account i tried to add my phone number but i have already added to my past account and i found that account and enabled the enable additional twitch acoount and back to my current account tried to add it but errored say oops we have an unexpected erroor so i back my past account and deleted the phone number and i back to my current account tried to number same error. 19. Allow Affiliate Onboarding to Accept Paypal instead of giving out your SSN

    Allowing users to complete the Affiliate Application by using their Paypal or another method that doesn't include sharing their SSN would be a major step privacy wise.

    If someone's SSN gets stolen, it can ruin them financially for years to come or even for life. This is why we are told never to share that number. Having a work around where we can file the taxes ourselves without having to give out our SSN to Twitch or Amazon would be beneficial to all involved and would help reduce the chances of people getting their SSN stolen.

20. Indefitie Suspension I AM NOT A BOT

    I submitted an appeal for my account (crowdog69b69t) because I was wrongfully accused of being a bot and or a automated account. I'm so frustrated because it took one day to be rejected for a warning that I got back in november, but it's been over a week and I still haven't gotten a response from my appeal for my indefinite suspension. I am victim to a false report and I'm not sure how many people are targeting me. I want my account back immediately. I am most definitely a real streamer and i only use one account to stream. My suspension is the result of poor moderation on this platform.
