Rollback the FireTV App to V9
The loss of functionality of V10 when compared to V9 is baffling. The redesigned UI is nigh incapable of assisting the user with finding non-live content, since the home, bowse, and category pages now only present live channels to the user.
In the prior app version, all followed channels were listed in a dedicated row about 2 rows below the top/live followed channels row. By removing this and all other non-live content, V10 of the FireTV app delivers an experience that is order of magnitudes more cumbersome to navigate compared to the prior version.
In the updated version users are required to search for individual channels (followed channels included) if they're looking for ANY non-live content, even content they've started watching but had to pause and return to later. Why on Earth should we have to go to the search section and search for any of that content in V10 when V9 gave it to us in a clean and concise manner. Moreover, if we want to know what our followed streamers have recently streamed, we have to search each one individually. And once we've made a decision on who to watch, we get to search them a second time in the same session. It's ridiculous and wasn't so cumbersome in V9.
I could give this a pass if the UI presented the most recent broadcast for each followed channel along side all the live followed channels at the top of the home screen. While still not ideal, at least then I'd only have to waste at most a little time passing through a vod I may not be interested in to get to their profile and find the content I'm ultimately looking for. But I can't even do that, and am instead shoehorned into searching for streamers I already follow.
And to top it all off... The chat history has been completely removed from the vods, and you can no longer send chat messages in the FireTV app.
You also can't force the playback overlay to hide in V10, and instead have to wait 5 seconds for it to disappear on its own. Before, in V9, you could hide it without delay by pressing down
Why has so much functionality been removed and the user experience worsened so tremendously?? Keep V10 and give us back V9!!!

Why the heck would you get rid of chat playback in the vods?!? Reading the chat is part of the experience and it's not the same without it. Horrid update. If you hold down fast forward for 1 second it skips ahead like 3 hours. Everything about this "update" is baffling. Rollback the update. You should be embarrassed.

I just got this update yesterday, and it is absolutely awful. In addition to all of the removed functions already mentioned here, every single vod I've tried to watch freezes every few seconds. Only vods do this, and they're completely unwatchable. I was surprised no one else had mentioned this issue so I reinstalled the app but it didn't fix the problem- if you've taken the time to google this update like I did and found yourself here, please send a ticket to complain about it!

When a VOD is paused get rid of the huge play icon on the screen. Sometimes people pause videos to read on screen text. Your oversized icon defeats that purpose and it doesn’t fade away.

Fast forwarding through VODs is also broken. I just skipped through an entire 19 hour broadcast by holding the fast forward button down for 5 seconds. You can’t possibly hope to FF and Rewind to a specific time if you tried to. I know the old version had its quirky method but this one is actually worse.

The new V10 of this app took away so much critical functionality that you have to wonder: what are twitch staff doing? Are they getting bad data about what people want? Did they hire a junior UI/UX intern based on a graphic design portfolio without regard for the UX?
It's disgusting how much contempt for users this app has. You can no longer see your followed streamers from the dashboard, you can't chat in the app, you can't see live video previews, and the UI overlay on entry into a channel darkens the entire screen for a long pause and you can't do anything to remove it. Chat replay in vods is gone. Just, you know, stuff that people want -- all gone.
Horrendous joke of an app written for the very hardware platform that pays twitch staff salaries. I hope the person who designed this app chooses a different career, they failed. Hard.

This is an update that frustrated me. Not only can I not see chat on VODs, I can't get a complete list of my followed channels if one is live it's incredibly confusing to try and see how to get to previous videos. The UI is hideous and very poorly organized. Roll it back. This 'update' is terrible for the user experience.

This is one of the worst "updates" I've seen on any app. I try to chat like I used to on my firestick and am asked to scan a qr code which takes me to a website that's asking for a credit card? What kind of scam is this? I specifically bought a firestick to watch twitch on my TV and now I have to use my phone (the only chat work around I've found) while watching on my TV to chat? And why are my followed channels now hidden? Ooooh! So twitch can push gambling and hot tub stream. Gotcha! The amount that twitch goes through to **** off their audience is amazing!

Yeah I hate this new update. If I wanted to chat from my phone, I'd just watch on my phone. Chat is gone in VODs now too? I like to see the chat in the VODs. It was always able to be minimized for those who don't want to see It. Please put it back like it was.

I was wondering why I had to log in again this evening. This new UI and removal of features is absolutely trash. I want to give constructive feedback but this update is unworthy of such a thing. Please roll this back. I don't know why any devs these days think removing functionality is a good idea. This literally feels like a cheap third party app now. V9 was perfect. Nothing needed changing.

I agree with so many of these comments. There is no longer a way to get the bottom banner to disappear anymore (used to be able to hit the back button but not it takes you back to the previous page). There’s no longer recent watched vods, or followed channels on the home page. I understand this is meant to encourage people to discover different channels but the fact that we have to search for your favorite channels each time is such a pain. It doesn’t encourage people to watch different streamers, it’s just a pain **********.

The controls on this new version of the fire tv app are horrible. The banner at the bottom dims the screen and you can’t press down or back anymore to make it go away. It just sits there blocking the content and you have to wait forever for it to disappear on a timer. Roll back this version of the update because it is terrible. Also can’t chat from fire tv app anymore. Why??? Just why????

With the recent update I cannot chat on my TV anymore with the remote control. I now have to scan a qr code and chat on mobile, wtf please I don't want this. I want to chat without using mobile phone. At least set an option so users can choose by themselves.

Please return the ability to easily view all followed streamers and properly find VODs again on FireTV! The latest update is a nightmare for me.

Yes. The app has become unusable in its current form for me. No more videos I'm currently watching, pain to find VOD, and I have zero interest in anything trending - especially not softcore ****.

Please at least return the "followed channels" tab, and allow us to view chat on streams and VODs. What is the point of a live streaming service that doesn't let you follow the chat? And what's the point of logging in if you're going to make us search for our followed channels and recent views?

I've never experienced such a downgrade from an update in my life.

Please change this back. There are so many shortcomings on this version which have already been stated - I’ve also noticed that you cannot watch VODs after a certain time/scroll amount. As someone who watches VODs months old (mainly Critical Role), I literally cannot get to older episodes unless I use YouTube. I can’t even cast the phone application, or continue watching if I’ve started on my phone.

This really needs to be fixed. Sometimes in really bad states of mind twitch is my one safety and now I can't even find videos of the people I follow, let alone go back further than 2 weeks. I fall behind and then binge watch. I don't want to be stuck wasting time trying to find even 1 thing to watch in the middle of an anxiety attack.
