  1. It would be very easy to build and design for if there were official typing for all data endpoints. The data between all the different API's for the same data isn't consistent, and with event sub, since it no longer relies on the underlying Helix endpoint, that data can now be different too. This will also mitigate typos on the docs which causes huge headaches when trying to code for API responses and the data not working, or missing fields. The typing can specify which fields are required and which are optional, so when designing your app, you can easily…

  2. https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/irc/guide#command--message-limits says:
    - 20 authenticate attempts per 10 seconds per user (200 for verified bots)
    - 20 join attempts per 10 seconds per user (2000 for verified bots)

however it's unclear how these limits apply to anonymous connections. Is there no limit to join attempts at all when you have authenticated as an anonymous user? And do authentication attempts for anonymous users (NICK justinfan12345) count towards the rate limit?

  4. Currently, when a non-Englisch Character is entered into the "Name" Field of the Application Settings (https://dev.twitch.tv/console/apps/<CLIENTID>), it is denied with the Error Message saying that the word "Twitch" is not allowed, even if that is not entered.

    1) This Error Message is confusing as it is incorrectly describing the situation.
    2) For some usecases, Non-English Characters would help for Names - such as German Companies with umlauts (öäü) in their name.

I acknowledge that allowing the entire Unicde / UTF-8 subset can pose issues, but It makes it so an Application Name may not be 100% identifying of…

  5. I have a system that checks what scene the creator is in, to see if that custom reward is allowed (we do scene whitelisting). A planned feature is to disable and enable custom rewards based on the scene, so that the end users (the viewers) only ever see custom rewards that will actually work.

It would be very helpful if I could batch my update calls so that I could set several rewards as disabled/enabled at once. Without this ability its very likely I'd hit a rate limit.

  6. why does the documentation not specify how the extension is including the common.js script? How is common.js capable of knowing DOM-elements that are in panel.html?

  7. Currently if you try to use a bits enabled extension on your channel, you get an error message that reads "Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again."

This error message makes it seem as though this action should work and that "something actually went wrong". When in actuality, they are trying to perform an action that is not allowed, that will never work no matter how many times they try again.

My proposal is to provide the user with a more meaningful error that informs them that they can't do this action because they aren't allowed to spend bits on…

  9. Please add actual code instead of images in the documentation. It would be much easier to copy it. Example: https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/tutorials/extension-101-tutorial-series/config-service

  11. Given the site shows Watch Parties as an alternative "type" to Live content (similar to Reruns), it should be denoted as such in the Get Streams API.

  13. As title states, popped out extensions should provide the same context information as normal panel extensions (for example the HLS latency).

  14. -Often is the Camera size to big and we can´t see the Game good.
I find New Option to disable the Camera by Spectator was Nice.
-And the same by Overlay many People will see the Game not the Face of the Streamer or the Overlay.
-Somethimes the Streamer talk to mutch or have Teamspeak on with other players and bad Voice or so .
I think the option Game sound Only was good when you will see the game.

I find the First place is the Game not the Streamer profile .

  15. Hey, it says "/vip /unvip" is under "channel:moderate" scope, wouldn't that be moderator status? because I'm sure moderators can't grant/remove VIP status to a user. Or am I wrong?

  20. https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/extensions/reference#helper-viewer

    states for the "twitch.ext.listen" function/callback

Non-Extensions PubSub topics also are supported.

This is no longer true as every non extension pubsub topic requires an Authentication token, and the listen function doesn't provide a way to specify a token.

Or the documentation is unclear on how/which non extension pubsub topics are supported
