  1. It is quite hard to find clips using https://www.twitch.tv/manager/clips page to find clips and API does not offer nice solutions to make a 3rd party application to replace it.
Here are some examples of API request parameters and some of their possible uses.

    curator_id:
    - clip creator can find all their own clips
    - broadcaster can find and delete all the clips from problematic viewer

    vod_id:
    - find clip compilation material for the stream

    created_at:
    - find clip compilation material for the date(and range)
    - find throwback clips - "last year this time we did this"

    broadcaster_id:
    - in combination…

  2. It seems that it’s currently impossible to determine who is streaming to a shared channel using the Authorized Broadcaster feature. I tested on my own channels and it appears as if the https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/channels/<mysharedchannel> endpoint does not include any information on the authorized broadcaster streaming to that channel.

Is this something in the works or planned? It would be very helpful for building extensions and bot commands for shared channels.

Note: when adding an email address to the authorized broadcaster list, it does check that the email is associated with a valid Twitch account, so this information should be available…

  3. Would be useful to create/update/remove a running goal.

To update/change the target whilst one is running if we get a surprise spike in subs
Or to easily be able to auto start a new goal if the first goal is completed.

  4. As soon as a user changes his name, the helix/users API can add an entry to the query of the old user name with the new one for a certain time.
This allows bots that work with the username instead of the ID to react faster to the name change

  5. Both of the APIs for getting subscriptions for a broadcaster don't include the actual date of the subscription with the data:

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-broadcaster-subscriptions
    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#check-user-subscription

This makes it impossible to compute things such as subscription length dynamically as the only way to get subscriptions dates now is to be listening for the subscription event itself when it occurs. The V5 version of these APIs have this data point in them:

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/v5/reference/channels#get-channel-subscribers
    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/v5/reference/channels#check-channel-subscription-by-user

  6. It would be useful if the following values could be added to each emote:

    • Channel Name (e.g. "owner name") - Obviously the name can be retrieved from the "owner id" by doing another API request, but it would be nicer to require fewer API requests
    • Tier - The "Get Channel Emotes" endpoint already contains a "tier" value, it would be nice if this one would also have it

Additionally, not all emote sets appear to be supported by the endpoint. For example the following emote sets (from the "emote-sets" tag and also valid emote sets in the v5 "Get User…

  7. The new GetChannelEmotes endpoint does not return the correct image url for gif emotes.

    For example on Lirik:

for an animated emote it returns the url:

    https://static-cdn.jtvnw.net/emoticons/v1/emotesv2_53ff77f7c67641528739780d90568494/1.0

When in fact the correct url should of been:

    https://static-cdn.jtvnw.net/emoticons/v2/emotesv2_53ff77f7c67641528739780d90568494/default/light/1.0

At the moment all gif emotes are given png url's.

This is the intended behavior. We will be updating the documentation to make it clearer that static images are returned and we will also be documenting the CDN URL schema to request different aspects of the emote (e.g. static/animated, light/dark/, etc)

  8. It would be useful to know

whats emotes are in a given casters emote library

And an API to manage auto on/off/swap active emotes from that library

  9. Please provide an endpoint to

    • create
    • update
    • delete
    • fetch

    The /rules of a channel.

    Usecase:

Moderators/channel staff/lead moderator may need to revise the rules of a channel on the fly.
This currently would require the broadcaster to "stop streaming"/playing the game/entertaining in order to do so.

A scope and endpoint should be provided to allowed authorised parties to update the rules.

  10. Please extend

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#check-automod-status

To provide as much information as the new PubSub Topic for automod-queue.<moderator_id>.<channel_id> does

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/pubsub#topics

Currently the API jsut does pass/fail
    But PubSub provides content/text/frames/reasoning.

This endpoint may be used by third party tools such as tip alerts or extensions to determine if a message passes review or not.

And if it is to be held and presented in a dashboard for moderation staff to review would be useful to include the additional information/reasoning for the block.

  12. So a developer can ask the api for just bits reward tier emotes or the "regular" sub emotes

    This applies to both

    • Get Channel Emotes
    • Get Emote Set

  13. Similar to - https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/41272606-extend-start-commercial-error-message-to-return-r

Please provide an endpoint that returns the following information

    • adverts last run
    • adverts can run next (retry_after)
    • adverts max duration

    SImilar to https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/41272606-extend-start-commercial-error-message-to-return-r

It would be useful to provide better tooling for streamers whom have a contract requiring ads to be run.

  14. We're currently unable to CRUD User Notes from the Moderators Update last year. We also cannot read/issue a timeout or issue a ban via API.

  15. It would be useful if we could accept or reject a list of redemptions for handling batch accept/reject events.

Some examples of usage might be using Channel Points to join a game or a queue where a limited number of people can be accepted in. An app may need to reject a long list of users.

We have a use case on an upcoming feature and I'm concerned we'll easily hit the rate limit if a few of our larger channels make use of it.

  16. With the way how certain bots work, Webhooks wouldn't work with said bots. So my Suggestion is to include PubSub so more bots can utilize features like Hype Train and other stuff included on twitch.

  17. This guide descibes how Partners can assign someone a lifetime sub that doesn't count to rev of points

    https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/lifetime-subscriber-guide-for-partners

The API doesn't present any information as to who is a lifetime sub or not.
So we cannot guestimate sub points (or revenue if we are building revenue reporting tools for streamers we work with) from the API as we don't know who is a lifetime sub or not.

Please provide an API endpoint that lists these subs, which would be "cheaper" than a boolean flag added to the subscribers endpoint

  18. Currently the API doesn't support marking a reward out of stock manually. This may be beneficial for rewards that take some time to process where specifying a hard cooldown wouldn't be appropriate.

In addition, support for a custom "out of stock" message may benefit some developers. Using sound alerts as an example, if a streamer is in "focus mode" and needs to concentrate on what they are doing, rather than say the default "out of stock" it could say "StreamerX is focusing right now".

  19. Allow to request clips/videos on multiple required query paramters (broadcasterid & gameid).

    Exemple: https://api.twitch.tv/helix/clips?broadcaster_id=xxxxxxx&game_id=xxxx

  20. I believe that updating the redemption to have a status of CANCELLED should remove any active cooldowns on the custom reward

I understand that it needs to go into the cooldown state immediately so that other users cannot redeem it again, however setting the status to CANCELLED is our way of signalling that the event did not complete. It's how the streamer says "sorry I can't do that, have your points back".

It makes little sense for the redemption to stay in cooldown when the custom reward has failed to be completed.
