  1. On the new Helix endpoint, https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference/#get-extension-transactions and therefor https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/webhooks-reference/#topic-extension-transaction-created the signed receipt that comes with onTransactionComplete from the JS Helper is missing. In order to audit and avoid man in the middle attacks, a signed JWT that can only be verified with the client secret should be sent on all endpoints sending monetary transaction data.

  3. It is quite hard to find clips using https://www.twitch.tv/manager/clips page to find clips and API does not offer nice solutions to make a 3rd party application to replace it.
Here are some examples of API request parameters and some of their possible uses.

    curator_id:
    - clip creator can find all their own clips
    - broadcaster can find and delete all the clips from problematic viewer

    vod_id:
    - find clip compilation material for the stream

    created_at:
    - find clip compilation material for the date(and range)
    - find throwback clips - "last year this time we did this"

    broadcaster_id:
    - in combination…

  4. There should be a Live Activated Channels with Extensions webhook to get updates once a channel w/ the Extension goes live- similar to the Stream Changed webhook, this would reduce the amount of polling needed.

  5. Hey Twitch,

The current Twitch IFTTT service is a great start. However, I'd like to see more event triggers for streamers. In specific:
    - If new subscriber on my channel (with variations for sub gift bundles)
    - If resub on my channel (with variations matching Twitch badges 1/3/6/12/etc)
    - If new host to my channel
    - If new raid to my channel
    - If cheer amount (with variation options)
    - If Tip/Donation (with variation options)

Reason for request: Those of us who have Nanoleaf, Phillips Hue, or smart lights could utilize those event triggers to create some very cool lighting…

  6. Thanks for the new "Get User Emotes" endpoint.

Here's a bit of an issue with it though. Currently when specifying a channel via "broadcaster_id" it returns the emotes the user can use in all channels and the emotes the user can use only in that channel. That's convenient if I only need to consider a single channel because it's all in a single request.

However if I need to know this information for several channels, I am forced to request the globally usable emotes again for each channel, which can be a lot of requests. As an example I have…

  7. I think all the above examples need to be reviewed as almost none work.
also requirements to us these flows is not mentioned , probably with good reason as building a secure web authentication server to use this flow is an insane ask of independent developers.

  8. Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to use my own user-access token, and see my OWN watchtime on the different channels/categories. Basically, knowing who I watch the most and what categories/games I watch the most ! I went through the API options, and I can't find this one.

  12. I utilize the API endpoints to disable a few things while wrapping up my stream (such as disabling commands, channel point rewards, change chat modes, etc). Within this workflow, I recently realized it would be super helpful to be able to disable or configure the raid-ability status of my channel as well. It would also be helpful to be able to control the other parameters, such as the min/max amount of viewers in a raid, account age, etc. It would all be amazing to be able to control through the API in the event of a wrapup, raid abuse, etc.

  13. If I call Get Videos with a user token with the scope "channel:manage:videos" I should be able to get that users unpublished vods.

I have a use case where I need to be able to delete an unpublished vod, but I can't see the unpublihsed vod to get the ID of it to then call delete

  14. Let us fetch the scheduled ads of a streamer so we can know when ads will be played

This should be scoped for safety

  15. I feel like I’ve seen this suggested before, but I’m unable to find another suggestion for this currently.

Anyway, right now Get Banned Users (https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-banned-users) only works for the user that is authenticated, regardless of them being a moderator for other channels.

It would be very useful if the restriction on broadcaster_id matching the auth token’s user_id was softened and instead just require that user_id is a moderator for broadcaster_id.

  16. The get-videos API (https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-videos) takes either a video id, user_id, or game_id, but does not take a stream_id, so if you want to find the VOD from a stream ID you captured while the stream was live, you have to search back through a user's videos and match them up, which is not super efficient, especially if the stream is old. Could you add stream_id as a possible query parameter please?

    Thanks,
    Chris

  17. Add support for RFC8252 (https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc8252#section-7.1) which allows for users to specify custom scheme URI's for OAUTH callback urls. This would allow native application developers to not have to piggyback through a server and instead they can configure their applications to handle these schemes for confirming the oauth callback, for example my-app-name:/authorization?code=XXXXX

  18. I would really like if "animatedpreviewurl" could get included in the new API.
Previously/currently it was return from the old API endpoint Get Video (https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/v5/reference/videos#get-video).

  19. Stop asking for my mobile number to register applications or for any reason at all.

You already get 2fa by sending the verification code through email. Sending it through mobile is an added security risk. It only makes it easier to compromise the account when hackers can just contact the mobile operator to be able to clone our mobile number.

The verification code through email is plenty. I have secure passwords on both email and twitch accounts, I can make sure they are safe, I can control that. I can't control what my mobile operator does with my SIM ID.…

  20. As soon as a user changes his name, the helix/users API can add an entry to the query of the old user name with the new one for a certain time.
This allows bots that work with the username instead of the ID to react faster to the name change
