  1. It is quite hard to find clips using https://www.twitch.tv/manager/clips page to find clips and API does not offer nice solutions to make a 3rd party application to replace it.
Here are some examples of API request parameters and some of their possible uses.

    curator_id:
    - clip creator can find all their own clips
    - broadcaster can find and delete all the clips from problematic viewer

    vod_id:
    - find clip compilation material for the stream

    created_at:
    - find clip compilation material for the date(and range)
    - find throwback clips - "last year this time we did this"

    broadcaster_id:
    - in combination…

  2. It seems that it’s currently impossible to determine who is streaming to a shared channel using the Authorized Broadcaster feature. I tested on my own channels and it appears as if the https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/channels/<mysharedchannel> endpoint does not include any information on the authorized broadcaster streaming to that channel.

Is this something in the works or planned? It would be very helpful for building extensions and bot commands for shared channels.

Note: when adding an email address to the authorized broadcaster list, it does check that the email is associated with a valid Twitch account, so this information should be available…

  3. On June 28th 2022 ReRuns are being changed - https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/video-on-demand?language=en_US#reruns

A new checkbox is being added to the dashboard to mark a "stream" as "is rerun"

    Please provide the ability to

    • get the current value of "is rerun"
    • set the current value of "is rerun"

    Of the channel

Please also update the streams API to indicate if a given stream is a rerun or not

  4. Please add EventSubChannelRaidStartedEvent and EventSubChannelRaidCancelledEvent to the API…

I’ve seen many requests for it, and it should definitely be a thing

  8. I would like to have an API to provide Drops information.

I would expect this to be secured behind the broadcasters token perhaps with a suitable scope.

Then this would allow me to see the current active scoring campaign(s) on a given channel.

This would allow me to provide easier bot commands with direct links to the relevant Twitch campaign page in an automated fashion. Which makes it easier for viewers to get to this data in an on demand fashion if they miss the popup for whatever reason. or the user just needs help from channel mods to understand…

  9. Add support for RFC8252 (https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/html/rfc8252#section-7.1) which allows for users to specify custom scheme URI's for OAUTH callback urls. This would allow native application developers to not have to piggyback through a server and instead they can configure their applications to handle these schemes for confirming the oauth callback, for example my-app-name:/authorization?code=XXXXX

  10. It would be very nice to have additional information on the subscription of a specific user, for example date of the subscription, how many consecutive months the user have been subscribed and the total months that the user was subscribed.
This could be easily added in the "Get Broadcaster Subscriptions" response so that for a specific broadcaster you can have the list of subscribers and for each one you can select the ones with streaks or total months to perform special actions with them

  12. The new prediction/polls APIs are very welcome, but it would be useful to know who started/locked/ended a prediction.

Maybe to display info to chatters who to talk to about the rules of the current prediction or maybe to log potential abuse of predictions.

  13. Similar to https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/42562003-bans-who-did-the-action

But extended to the Helix API.

It would be useful to add who did a given "Ban Event" to the Get Banned Events for "service restart catchup" when using eventsub.

And useful to add it to the main "get banned users" for determining as a moderator using a tool the history or a user and to check with that moderator why that user was banned, but can't since the API doesnt' report who did it.

  14. The new GetChannelEmotes endpoint does not return the correct image url for gif emotes.

    For example on Lirik:

for an animated emote it returns the url:

    https://static-cdn.jtvnw.net/emoticons/v1/emotesv2_53ff77f7c67641528739780d90568494/1.0

When in fact the correct url should of been:

    https://static-cdn.jtvnw.net/emoticons/v2/emotesv2_53ff77f7c67641528739780d90568494/default/light/1.0

At the moment all gif emotes are given png url's.

This is the intended behavior. We will be updating the documentation to make it clearer that static images are returned and we will also be documenting the CDN URL schema to request different aspects of the emote (e.g. static/animated, light/dark/, etc)

  15. The TZIDs in https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference/#get-channel-icalendar are currently prefixed by a / so they are /America/New_York for example. Removing the leading slash should vastly improve compatibility with iCal parsers (since the timezones are essentially IANA timezones then).

  16. Right now there is a limitation of the Custom Rewards API that makes it so a client can only update the custom rewards (and their redemptions) that it has created. However, with EventSub we can receive notification of any Custom Reward, regardless of whether the client created it or not. This means you can write a client to take some action upon Custom Reward Redemption, link it up to a preexisting Custom Reward, and it will take action. But the Client will never be able to programmatically mark the Redemption as FULFILLED, because the client didn't create the Custom Reward…

  18. Please provide an endpoint to

    • create
    • update
    • delete
    • fetch

    The /rules of a channel.

    Usecase:

Moderators/channel staff/lead moderator may need to revise the rules of a channel on the fly.
This currently would require the broadcaster to "stop streaming"/playing the game/entertaining in order to do so.

A scope and endpoint should be provided to allowed authorised parties to update the rules.

  20. At the moment, only the broadcaster is allowed to use the polls and predictions endpoints because the broadcaster id must match the OAuth token. I think that allowing moderators of the specific channel should also be able to use these endpoints. This would be really helpful for Chatterino for example. In order for moderators to create polls or predictions, they have to go to the actual chat on the website to type in /prediction or /poll. If moderators were able to access the endpoint, Chatterino could easily add a command to bring up a window to create a poll or…
