restrictions to prevent bot follows
The idea is simple: Add the same phone & email verification options to the ability to actually follow a channel, and thus also giving account age requirements to be able to follow a channel. This will allow small streamers being targeted by hate raid Bot attacks to simply prevent the bot attacks easily, instead of being driven off the platform.
This doesn't work at all to stop follow botting. It never will, if you do a quick search just for follow botting what you'll find is that it can not be stopped no matter what you do.
this is INCREDIBLY flawed. maybe just use a Cachpa
Just Got Bot Followed Today My Original Follow is 229 and suddenly the twitch alert box blew up. can anyone help?
it comes down to one thing : something has to be done, because it is getting rediculous
I definitely like this idea, but it will also hinder people as well from growth.
Such settings stop people from staying in a channel after a raid, because not everyone cares to deal with all that.
So it will for sure hinder many peoples growth ability, but I do quite understand such things.
@michalshawn Sorry, I have no clue how you could stop the bot traffic on your website. My solution suggested here simply applies current security settings to also apply to the "Follow" button on the twitch page. Sorry I can't be of assistance, I hope you get something sorted out though!
If you find any solution of bot followers and traffic please also do let me know about it. I am getting bot traffic on my website https://treeplantation.com. Waiting for your response.
i fully support this idea say for the fact i myself can not verify my account by phone and have already been unable to chat due to that restriction in channels i followed before those were added to them.
personaly as a streamer I LOVE THiS IDEA!!
In short: Take one set of protection options for streamers, and allow it to be applied to the "Follow" button on the Platform.
