  1. Add an endpoint to edit the stream title and currently played game, the equivalent in v5 was:

PUT /kraken/channels/<channel ID> with "status" and "game" fields.

The PUT /helix/streams/tags endpoint accomplishes parts of this, an implementation could look like this:

    PUT /helix/streams [required scope: user:edit:broadcast]
Request fields: user_id to identify the user whose stream is to be edited, game_id to identify the game played and title to set the stream title/status.

  3. A user's created timestamp is not yet available through Helix. The updated timestamp is personally less useful but would be nice for consideration.

We launched the channel.raid EventSub subscription type in early March.

We are not adding a channel.host subscription type at this time, though we will continue to consider this request.

  7. The clips API

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-clips

doesn't contain enough information to recreate the clip from the source video, it doesn't have the length of the clip or the start point in the vod.

  8. Please provide an API to

    • Create
    • Replace
    • Update
    • Delete

    For the new announcements feature.

Additionally this should work with a broadcasters token or a moderators token

Usecase: much easier to automate and manage announcemtns externally.

We could for example auto update the "message of the day" and/or change the message based on timers or external factors.

We could also use it for the "Death Counter" of the game the streamer is playing on Stream

  9. Some users have display names (the "user_name" property) that do not work for IRC or even in URLs. This requires an additional call to /helix/users with the ID to get the login which I find more crucial than the display name that is already included.

    Here are two examples:

The user "riotgames" (ID 36029255) has a display name with a space. "twitch.tv/Riot Games" does not redirect to "twitch.tv/riotgames".

The user "hanryang1125" (ID 103825127) has a display name with Korean characters. "twitch.tv/풍월량" does not redirect to "twitch.tv/hanryang1125".

Neither of these display name would work for IRC, which goes for most display…

  10. Helix is currently missing the Kraken endpoint /kraken/channels/<channel ID>/commercial

Running a commercial through the API is e.g. very useful for broadcasters who want to assign that responsibility to someone else.

  12. Moderators are able to add a reason/description whenever they ban people in chat (/ban [username] reason)

This information is currently only available in the "not allowed to use" GraphQL-api, but should also be added to the documentet endpoints; /moderation/banned and /moderation/banned/events

    (Ban-reason is different from moderator-comments.)

  13. Hello :)

We can now add custom tags to our stream infos but the API does allow us to do the same for now.
Also, if we edit the tags from the new form, we don't get them back with the API.

Is this API update planed ?

  14. Channel points have the ability to reward loyal viewers with real-time influence on the stream. Sometimes such requests may be filtered, which should trigger a rejection (therefore refund).

Right now the only way to do this programmatically would be to use unsupported GQL APIs and risk the wrath of Twitch, or wrap the rewards queue in some way. This is the only blocker (technically speaking) for the workflow, as PubSub does expose enough information to respond to the redemptions automatically.

I've had a proof of concept on my stream which gets redemptions via PubSub, filters the submission for offensive content…

  16. Adding the commonly-used game title field to the Get Streams endpoint payload (similar to the addition of user name) will allow developers to make less calls for the data needed. In other words, Get Games would not need to be called for every game id to get one more field.

  17. Please provide a way for third party developers to obtain currently available songs and meta data related to those songs.

Both in a "get all songs" method and "search for songs"

    Search should be

    • free text (like game/category search)
    • song ID (to get specific song data)
    • artist ID (to get songs by an artist)
    • album ID (to get songs on an album)
    • by category/genre (to get say only Dance music or chill out music)

  18. Now that Twitch is utilizing IGDB instead of Giantbomb.

Please add the IGDB Game ID to the Helix Fetch Game endpoint.

    https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-games
    https://api-docs.igdb.com/#game

Then we can easily lookup a game on Twitch with the game on IGDB without getting lost in search/selecting the wrong one with a similar name

  19. Currently, this endpoint: https://tmi.twitch.tv/group/user/<CHANNEL>/chatters

Can be used freely without any authentication or scope.

This is definitely being abused with the hate raids. It's been abused by malicious actors for a long time now. Why has this endpoint been created in such a way that there is zero barrier for a malicious actor to obtain user data?

Even the Get Polls endpoint (https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/reference#get-polls) requires both authentication and a scope!

How has that Get Chatters endpoint not yet been removed an replaced with a secure Helix endpoint, as stated here: https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/39145294-chatters-viewers-helix-api-endpoint

    This is not ok.
