  1. When user IDs in the provided data payload do not exists, the endpoint returns a 500 error. Ideally this should return a more detailed error code with an error message related to user IDs.

  2. There are two scenarios when using this API which return a 500 from the server, but which should return either a 401 or 400 and a meaningful error code to help point out the issue:

    1. If you have set your productSKU's to 'live', but you're testing in 'Hosted testing', you receive this error. A response telling you that you cannot test SKUs in live mode when in hosted testing would be great.

    2. If your extension is live and you are trying to use bits on a channel which doesnt support it, you will receive a 500 from the server. I…

  4. As far as I understand, for now, it is possible to ban/unban an user with a channel moderator's OAuth token, but it is still impossible to retrieve the channel's banned users list. It must be done with the broadcaster's OAuth token. Even though moderators have access to this information with the /user chat command.

If I want to check if an user is banned as a moderator via the API, here's what I currently need to do:
    - perform a ban/unban request on the user
    - check if it returned HTTP 200 or HTTP 400 (respectively meaning successful or user…

  5. Right now, chat bots that post messages in chat from things such as commands. will post the reply in chat, which can become quite spammy. The only solution to this right now is to use whispers, but there is a hard limit on that and doesn't work half of the time anyways. I propose that we should be able to have bots send replies that are hidden to everyone but the person that ran the command.

  7. Off the back of

    https://twitch.uservoice.com/forums/310213-developers/suggestions/37563241-expose-vips-in-the-api

    Being an endpoint now.

There is no endpoint for "how many VIP slots does the channel have"

    as per the help doc

    https://help.twitch.tv/s/article/Managing-Roles-for-your-Channel?language=en_US

it scales based on the unique chatters/build a community achievement.

So extend the Get VIPs endpoint to report the possible maximum VIPS for the channel I'm getting VIPs of.

  9. Currently Moments are still in beta, but there is a /moment chat command so this UserVoice is for that to be implemented as an endpoint when it's out of beta.

Since moments are essentially clips with some extra bells and whistles, it could be almost a copy/paste of the Create Clip endpoint, and having the option of using 3rd party tooling could result in increased usage of the Moments product.

  10. The existing Channel Emotes API response includes a 'bitstier' value of 'emote_type' for Cheer-earned emotes, but does not include any data about the actual number of bits required to earn the emote. Either the 'tier' attribute or a new integer-value (recommended) containing the number of bits for each emote would be very helpful. Adding the same attribute to the Emote Sets API response would also be useful and uniform.

  11. The collections API's were not migrated from v5 to Helix

I remembered this when I went to try and use the collection API's to list collections.

Please bring the collcetion API's to helix

  12. Previously a call to "https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/channels/123456/videos" included "_total" (The total number of videos).
    This was removed in Helix.
As a replacement, you need to iterate through every 100 videos for a channel and count manually. This results in thousands of extra API calls.

  13. The AutoMod API lets you test/validate text

Extend the AutoMod API to test a username/userID so a user passed in from tip/extension platforms can be tested to see if should be flagged/skipped/held for manual moderation

  14. Currently, the only API endpoint which can return the current status of the channel is /search/channels, which contains a "is_live" boolean attribute.

So when I want to know if a channel (knowing its ID) is live through the API, the only way is by calling /channels first to get the channel name, then by calling /search/channels with the channel name, and finally sort the results to find the correct channel.

This is excessively time and ressources consuming, for both developpers and Twitch servers (two API call instead of just one). Would be great to add a "is_live" field in /channels…

  15. I would like to request that the booleans phoneverified and emailverified be added to the Get Users API.

email_verified was already a part of the v5 Get User endpoint.

The reason for this is because I would like to create an app that uses the Twitch API that would only allow access to users that have a verified phone number, to prevent/reduce spam from malicious users.

  16. Hi
I hope you are all doing good
I need some help. I am looking for a developer who can easily integrate twitch with my website https://cloptoncapital.com/. I tried a lot by myself but nothing happened. So if you have any information about it then please do let me know. Thank You

  17. Currently, the only way for a bot to know its chat limits is by hard-coding them. Even using the (undocumented?) user chat info endpoint isn't sufficient to determine what hard-coded limits to apply today, since whisper limits depend on when an account was verified.

It would be much better for a bot to query a (documented) endpoint and retrieve its rate limits in that way.

  18. Stop asking for my mobile number to register applications or for any reason at all.

You already get 2fa by sending the verification code through email. Sending it through mobile is an added security risk. It only makes it easier to compromise the account when hackers can just contact the mobile operator to be able to clone our mobile number.

The verification code through email is plenty. I have secure passwords on both email and twitch accounts, I can make sure they are safe, I can control that. I can't control what my mobile operator does with my SIM ID.…

  19. If a user is banned from chat due to email or phone "cross ban" as per:

    Curbing Ban Evasion

We know there are many reasons someone may need to manage more than one account, so you can verify up to five accounts per phone number. That said, to help prevent ban evasion, if one phone-verified account is suspended site-wide, all accounts tied to that number will also be suspended site-wide. Users won’t be able to verify additional accounts using a phone number that is already tied to an actively suspended account.

At the channel-level, if one phone-verified or email-verified account
