  1. So a developer can ask the api for just bits reward tier emotes or the "regular" sub emotes

    This applies to both

    • Get Channel Emotes
    • Get Emote Set

  2. At the moment, only the broadcaster is allowed to use the polls and predictions endpoints because the broadcaster id must match the OAuth token. I think that allowing moderators of the specific channel should also be able to use these endpoints. This would be really helpful for Chatterino for example. In order for moderators to create polls or predictions, they have to go to the actual chat on the website to type in /prediction or /poll. If moderators were able to access the endpoint, Chatterino could easily add a command to bring up a window to create a poll or…

  3. Events endpoints like https://api.twitch.tv/helix/moderation/banned/events and https://api.twitch.tv/helix/moderation/moderators/events only provide a short history of events.

This makes it difficult when a 3rd party dev takes on a new client to collect historical data from before they started offering services to the new client. Answering a question like when did I mod this mod? Is not something that can be answered without historical data.

Allowing a request for as much historical data as available (hopefully more then the current amount provided by the endpoints) or requesting for a specific time amount would allow new 3rd party dev and single custom one off developers…

  4. There does not seem be an equivalent for v5's chat endpoints. In particular, there does not appear to be an endpoint for getting all emoticons such as https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/chat/emoticons.

  5. The current APIs max out at 100 items per page, and while this is fine for most channels, there are some where you end up having to paginate for a long time to reach the end of the list.

Given there is rate limiting in place, would it be possible to make an endpoint (or use the current endpoints and add an "all" query parameter) with a high rate-limit cost that allows for the bulk fetching of this information?

  6. API endpoints should be implemented within the moderation:read or channel:moderate scope (not sure which would be the better fit) for the info present in the /user panel in mod view.

I imagine it would work very similarly to /helix/moderation/banned/events but with two major differences:
    • broadcaster_id would not require matching the user_id in the auth token; it would just need to match a broadcaster_id that the user is a moderator for.
    • user_id in the API call becomes a required parameter to keep it in line with how the /user panel works today

This should result in allowing applications to…

  7. The ability to interact with ban appeals with API would be a useful tools for developers who create full moderation/management suites for broadcasters. This could include the ban reason, the appeal reason. This would also help us fill the gaps with missing information that Twitch has right now, like tracking the number of appeals or storing the appeal reason after approved.

  9. The Developer APIs are often used to resolve relationships with sets of accounts used in follow bots through the Block User Endpoint. It would be useful if we could expand the reasons to allow developers to programmatically report bot accounts to help Twitch in removing these accounts. We are all actively building systems to help combat this issue on behalf of Twitch, so let us do our best to help your team.

  10. I see you have it in your v5 API https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/v5/reference/channels#reset-channel-stream-key

But it seems like there's no way to do this in the current API? This would allow someone to create an automated channel for a community, like the Randomania channel, or the ZeldaSpeedruns channel

  12. instead of using a custom number for bets we should also be able to enter i.e. 20% to easily bet 20% of my channelpoints. also your new ad system sucks. just implement a little banner instead of fullscreen minutelong ads. i know you need the money but imagine a content creator does the most amazing joke ever but you miss it because of an ad.

  13. "The v5 endpoint searched for the channel title and category. Use “Search Channels” to match channel name or title." on https://dev.twitch.tv/docs/api/migration is wrong because the new API does not matches the title! There is no replacement for title searching!

  16. Right now, you can only check if the streamer setup permissions for your extension from the helper, such as isBitsEnabled, isChatEnabled, isSubscriptionStatusAvailable. It would be nice to be able to query the API to see which permissions the streamer setup.

  19. The endpoint /helix/subscriptions?broadcaster_id=USER_ID doesn't return the data from the most recent to the oldest subscriber.

We could maybe use /helix/subscriptions/events?broadcaster_id=ID but the data here apparently doesn't last more than 5 days or so. This doesn't work for small streamers who don't have a lot of subscribers coming on a daily basis, for example.

    Suggestions:

    1. Create an "order" parameter to the first endpoint, so we could use like /helix/subscriptions?broadcaster_id=USER_ID&order=desc&limit=1
    2. Make the second endpoint return the latest "forever".

The first endpoint seems buggy, the data being returned comes in random order and the pagination cursor is always present, even if I clearly…
