Make Art/Creative its own directory

Hey all!
We’re excited to announce that we’ve rolled out the new Creative directory today!
As we mentioned before, the Creative directory features creators in our artistic categories including Art, Beauty & Body Art, Food & Drink, Makers & Crafting, and Software & Game Development. This will make it easier for both viewers that want to discover creators in these categories and creators looking to find and connect with others who stream creative content.
We expect these directories to continue to grow over time, so please keep the ideas coming. And if you believe an existing category is missing from this list, please let us know.
Thank you for all your feedback and as always we look forward to more of it. We’re looking forward to seeing you, your communities, and your creativity in the new directory!

Well ART is it's own thing under IRL though?

People being unaware that there is ANY art on twitch is like saying, people did not know chickens lay eggs. Are they aware there is a browse tag, you can click on and see that there is an art catagory? If they don't know that there was art it's probably because the intentionally have not looked for it, or that the things they typically watch don't allow the algorithyms to just automatically fit art to be a thing seen. You do have to browse, you do have to look. What you CAN see on the left is based on the things you have already watched, or streamed oneself. That's been my experience.

I have come across a lot of people who were unaware there is ANY art on Twitch. I think that speaks for itself.

I think it would be a good idea to at least split Art into 2 different categories for more precise metrics and more accurate results than currently is, because just "Art" is too vague and generalized for what people can do.
What I propose is splitting Art into 2 (At least)
Traditional Art/Crafts - Means all traditional and physical media such as Sculpting, painting (either acrylics, oils, gouache, etc.), drawing with pencils or inks, markers, and mostly all visual artworks done through physical or traditional mediums.
(The name could be adjusted to maybe fit it as Traditional Visual Arts or such to specify visual media)
Digital Art - Means all visual artwork that is created through digital mediums such as digital painting/inking (In programs such as Photoshop, Clip Studio or other programs made for similar artistic purposes), 3D Modeling, Textures, 2D Animation and 3D animation.
There may be some mediums that I might be missing but this is my general idea on how to make this category slightly more accurate towards the metrics and then we could see if it's worth dividing it into further categories if needed.

hello, I am the creator of a music playlist on youtube, and Linsatv in several of its streams, does not hesitate to take my creations to animate its content. She suppressed the reruns and blocked the clips so as not to leave any evidence. I find it unacceptable that Twitch is letting this go unpunished. I will initiate action towards you if this continues. If you are looking for proof, move on and go to her stream to find that she has been broadcasting music that has not been authorized in each of her streams for too long ... thank you.

You say that creative content should get better exposure by being lumped into IRL and I have to ask how that makes ANY sense at all. If anything it does the exact opposite by lumping Creative streams into a MASSIVE pool of catch all streamers. Giving them their own category would absolutely give 100000000000% more exposure and bring together the creative community instead of casting them into the IRL void.

PLEASE make Comedy its own place. Comedy Clubs across the country are shuttered and turning to Twitch.
Stand Up, Sketch Comedy, and Improv

I think uservoice was a good idea, especially since "art/creative as a directory" and "trans tag request" are the most popular ideas on here, proving they're important to the twitch community and making me hope they'll be taken seriously

There's really no confusion here, it's clear from a business perspective this is a good call ... for Twitch ... Amazon ... More small categories jammed into a big banner makes it more attractive towards advertisers, it seems like that's a succes, as viewer I see more ads than before ... a wider variety.
As a content-creator/streamer I can only imagine how much my content will get buried under other things ... because who in heaven's name is gonna search for arts in a "IRL" section. You say this will give more exposure, but logically thinking a new visitor who's interested in arts will see NO ARTS on the front page and therefore assume there isn't any, continuing their search elsewhere. Is this a bold assumption, yes ... but just imagine being new to a platform, you see a few categories and think "ohh, this is it... this is all they have to offer." As artists and we already have to fight to get some eyes on our work and this decision only further complicates stuff for us. Just for once listen, we're are with over 5 thousand here, doesn't that say enough, it is THE LARGEST thread on here.
So, just please ... listen!

I personally love watching artists, and discovering newer ones! But putting it in the IRL section would make everything SO much harder!

Personally I think some consistancy would go a long way. Not only having Art seperate from other streaming sections, but also giving it actual age appropriate selection. People getting banned from the Art section for being 'inappropriate' when it's just art. When you have people playing games with characters like IVY from Soul Calibur or Cyberpunk 2077, additionally you have IRL streamers dancing practically naked for bits, how is this different.
Having clear and concise rules for streamers with consistant reinforcement would be better than just lumping everything together, whether the mod personally likes the person, their culture or their world views shouldn't effect the rules set in place.
Organize a list of rules and exemptions for artists on the platform, and get mods to actually enforce them properly. Engage with the artists and ask why they're doing what they're doing, don't just blanket ban them because the mod is having a moody day.

This is ridiculous. Creative category actually came after gaming and you guys totally demolished that category. Twitch used to be so inclusive of all artists. Now it's totally like you don't want artists to be acknowledged at all. Everything now seems to be pick and choosy with this platform now. The unfairness and lack of inclusivity towards certain groups. Even the TOS has a lot of grey area that I tried asking support about and couldn't even get a direct response because they didn't know. Everything is a mess. I have been on this platform for almost 5.5 years and have seen everything change.

I want you to imagine if google removed every search result that used the term art and said "If you want to find artistic content then just search this super broad term instead that doesn't actually have anything to do with art." That would be insane right? No one would ever find what they are looking for right?
So tell me how this is any different? If the search engine you are using doesn't show you content related to the search terms you are using then that search engine is broken. If someone types "art" into the twitch search bar it should show them people streaming artistic things. If someone searches "Gaming" they should find gaming streams. If someone searches for something using the most appropriate terms for that thing then they should find that thing... what you are doing makes no sense and it is going to make art streamers impossible to find so people will just stop searching for them cuz they cant find them.
One more exsample for you.... imagine if you went to the library and couldn't find Lord Of The Rings... infact it seems all the nonfiction is missing all together... what the heck is going on? You wonder.
So you ask the person at the counter who informs you that they have merged the nonfiction and the mythology section into one big section called "Non provable literature." wouldn't that make finding what your looking for much more difficult? wouldn't that make little to no sense? Well that's essentially what this idea of yours does...
Only your idea is worse because you're putting the art textbooks into the magazine and hobbies section which makes literally no sense.I beg of you... on my hands an knees like a dog... DO NOT DO THIS! It will kill the arts on this platform.

Yeah real distinct categories you have for this bull experiment. The only creativity you've acknowledged is music and you can't even do anything with that thanks to the DMCApocalypse
So to review your idea of "unique categorization"
Games, also games but the player is getting paid, dead space, and everything else. Can you maybe see why people are frustrated? We're not confused you're just being jerks.
