Have an Indie category like Retro/Creative/IRL/etc
It would be super lit to have an Indie category to play lesser-known games. Very often I'll try to stream an Indie game and it either wont be listed on Twitch or have 0 viewers. It would be beneficial to indie devs too to get their name/games out there.
I searched how to send ideas to twitch just to ask that!
And now I see when it was posted and I'm a little bit disappointed...
Hope this will be made!
This is a great idea. I would like to see this happen

There is no Retro directory, the "Retro" section people use are for the PS2 game Retro https://www.gamefaqs.com/ps2/958156-retro
Just play the indie game you want to play in its correct directory or request a new directory for a new game.

I have to back this- as a developer myself I think it would help discovery greatly.
Hey we have a small web project with a team of mine that concerns this matter (To be able to filter Streams/Games) to the very core. We have a set of detault genres/themes on: https://shikenso.com/?tab=1
Yet to get more Data on the streams - a streamer need to register and upload his schedule and set tags to his schedule/streams. Once a user for example uploads a schedule for an indie game and even tags it with "speedrun" "indie" etc. poeple can filter them out in our calendar. We are still a startup so obviously we still lack the data and have to make the community aware of these features.
Feedback and innovative ideas on this matter appreciated!
As a streamer that mainly showcases Indies I fully support this. If only I could give more than 3 votes!

AGREED!!! We need an Indie Category.. I am actually blown away that this even has to be asked for by now, lol..
Following my previous post, I just think the main directory itself should have genre categories that way games are easier to find. You should be able to search for just RPG games or just Fantasy games. People who would determine the genres of games would be the developers. Like there are communities, but I feel it would be better to have official game categories just like IRL and Creative do. I mean, why categorize creative and IRL and not the games themeselves? There are millions or games and being able to filter or search for specific genres would improve discoverability and searchability.
I think the best idea would be to have a main Indie Game Directory and have every individual indie game directory (as in the directories like Darkest Dungeon) as like subcategories or something that way, you have the main category and then people can search in there for a specific game. Kind of likehow Creative and IRL function. Communities are great, but one there are too many indie communities because everyone makes their own category; two, they don’t separate per game so it’s still harder to find what you want as you can’t search for a game within a community; and three, communities don’t get as much exposure as Game Directories do. Communities are good for things like “Positivity” and “LGBTQA” and things like that, but are not good for part promoting game communities.
Games + Demos isn't a good enough category. Something highlighting JUST Indie games, not just un-cataloged games, would be great!
They have one

I think this is a great idea!
I would love to see this because there are so many titles out there that deserve more love and attention
this would be a great idea as a small streamer trying to promote some good indie games that were given to me i only average about 3-5 viewers, this idea would not only promote the game but be beneficial for myself as well. A very mutual agreement on both ends

I agree. Definitely agree that this is a wonderful idea.
Though, better terminology to make it sound a tad more appealing is streaming "Early Access" category instead of Indie IMO
Someone people only think of indie as pixealted, when they don't consider that No Man's Sky was actually indie (self published)
As an indie developer/publisher I am greatly for this idea! Would make finding potential streamers to show off my products much easier!
