"Coworking and Study" Category
Last year, you all implemented a "coworking" tag for WFH, study, and remote working streams.
All of us in the coworking community really appreciated the tag! It helped users and viewers find streamers to study alongside, especially in a time when everyone was working from home. Even now, a year and a half out from the tag introduction, many users are still working from home, looking for coworking streams to pass the time and find company in.
Unfortunately, the addition of custom tags—while innovative and helpful for many streamers generally—has presented a problem for the coworking community. It's no longer easy for coworking streamers to use their designated tag to aid discoverability.
There are, after all, SO MANY iterations of "coworking" that could be used: "coworking," "co working," "study," "WFH," "costudy," "working," "studying," working...." and the list goes on.
This lack of clarity has effectively nullified the benefits that the designated "coworking" tag gave us back in early 2021, muddying the waters and hampering discoverability for coworking streamers.
ALL THAT SAID, now that custom tags have been introduced and the discoverability environment has changed for us, it would be incredible to get a designated "Coworking and Studying" category for coworking streamers to live in. Not only would it help viewers find us, it would also help us discover other new coworking streamers much easier—especially when not many know how to use the tag system efficiently.
Thanks so much for considering!
Yes! Yes! a Coworking and Study category would be so helpful!
I agree with this request and with the feeling that the new tag system has made it difficult to identify other coworking streamers.
Now that the coworking community is growing I think it’s the right time to have a category that helps us to find other streamers and be found from the viewers.
I only use twitch to cowork and study. Please, we need this tag.
YEAH YEAH, It's such a great idea
Yes please to a co-working tag - love a co-working stream 🤌
Yes please, it would be for me much easier to recommend study streams for my friends who are working from home but never used twitch before :)
Yes yes yes yes yes. Thank you Twitch, we know you'll be so understanding :)
Support this cause. They have their own community all together in this category and the format they are streaming.
I think since 2020 a lot of strea.ers take part and share their space of coworking or studying and at the same time doing some break to interact with people. A coworking category or SWM will be great to be updated on this type of content.
This would be incredible. I’d love to be able to find coworking/study streams in a more accessible way.
This would make streamer discovery so much easier. Currently learn about most streams through other streamers but this is really inefficient, especially for coverage in disparate time zones.
This is a great idea. I also like to find new coworking streams and this would help a lot.
Yes please! This would be so helpful.
I agree with some of the comments here that mentioned how having a category for designated for co-working/studying (or any other variations) would be helpful. I've seen many people in the IRL category just switch back to Just Chatting because that category, many viewers don't know about. What about trying an implementation of having dual categories? Or a sub category to the overarching one?
There are so many amazing and productive co-working / study streamers out there going unnoticed in the different categories that they try to stream to. Having a Co-Working and Study category would greatly improve their discoverability. It also could potentially bring together a new type of audience onto Twitch!
Thank you for all your support on this idea, friends!
I read some very interesting feedback in the comments—here are my extended thoughts on the idea, to address some of those points. twitlonger.com/show/n_1ss7e5g
This would be great, I am constantly struggling to discover new streamers in this category. I would love to be able to find streams to raid after my own more easily and thus make new friends more easily :)
Yes I agree! It will be very helpful for the community!
Yes! I would be great for the community to have our own little space on twitch!
