Remove Schizophrenia and Autism as stream tags.
Remove Schizophrenia as a stream tag.
Use it properly or not at all.
Mental health tags are routinely misused on this platform to the point of novelty.
For that matter remove Autism.
I am mentally exhausted and I am physically sick of reporting streamers who turn the mental illnesses of me and my family into marginalizing jokes on this platform only to see absolutely nothing happen even after months of waiting.
You do not “promote awareness” of mental illnesses by allowing any idiot with a computer and without a diagnosis to use our disabilities and misrepresent us for their own and your own financial and personal gain.
My sister is not an “Autist” Twitch. My uncle is not a “Schizo.” I am not a “Sperg.”
Not that you care, but we aren’t even the full names of those stigmatized terms anymore. Not that I asked to have it changed.
If you knew absolutely anything about the groups you claim to support, you would know that the mental health community as a whole is being forced to re-label each aforementioned disease. Again. Because companies like you ardently refuse to properly represent us and moderate hate speech.
Do you even make sure fundraisers using these tags are actually endorsed by real charities?
Do you still take a 50% cut of all bits and subs?
Of course you don’t, it’s been a year since you banned simp and incel, but you still allow streamers to use the word ret@rd to absolutely no consequence.
(It’s very cute that I have to sensor it here though for it to show up compared to on a stream, I’ll give you that)
Consistency from you would be too much to ask. I must actually be as crazy as you make me out to be to expect proper representation from your company.
Actually, since ret@rd and autism are both outdated terms for nerodivergence why don’t you go ahead and make “Ret@rded” a tag too?
It would serve the same exact function on your dog water, add and bott infested, soulless excuse for an all-inclusive PG-13 social media platform.
I don’t care if you do your job Twitch. But it’s exactly self-proclaimed allies to mental health like you that make it virtually impossible for people like my family and I to get the help we need.
Worse; you burden our daily struggle with shame and anxiety.
Thanks for that.
Alright comment section, flame me, I’m sure the “moderators” won’t stop you.
Better yet turn this into a copy pasta. I know you guys absolutely love “haha funnies” about warcrimes and PTSD. I’ll be the new Brazilian Navy SEAL with 99 confirmed disabilities who’s also gay.
