As a Twitch streamer with multiple invisible disabilities, I fully support this! Being a content creator is hard work - even more so for disabled content creators! There is no reason why this shouldn't be implemented already - disabled folks deserve to be recognized, highlighted, and celebrated for our hard work just like any marginalized group.

So many votes yet no Twitch reply....

We, the disabled, often can't do the things that abled people can do and we work so much harder trying to promote and get seen due to lack of discoverability.

At least let us be seen on the homepage by featuring various disabled streamers.

Black History Month, those streamers put on the front page.

****** Cancer Awareness month, those streamers put on the front page.

Asian Heritage History month, those streamers put on the front page.

Mental Health Awareness and Minority Mental Health Awareness months, those streamers shoved to the back of the Twitch universe.

It's blatantly obvious that Twitch has a bias against people with Mental Health challenges. It's really sad. Had I known this when I started streaming on Twitch, I would have started my content creation career on another platform.

Shame on you Twitch...too bad we can't organize a boycott of Twitch of content creators who suffer from mental health issues. I'd rather have no viewers on a platform which respects and acknowledges my lifelong struggle with depression, anxiety, and agoraphobia than have 100,000 viewers on a platform which treats me like an inferior-class content creator.

Shame on you Twitch.

And of course... Another missed opportunity from Twitch. I was hoping this would be enough time since this was posted in Jan for twitch team to get this started... RIP

As a disabled and neurodivergent creator it can be VERY difficult to keep up with what Twitch is ''''supposed'''' to promote for content, but it should celebrate ALL creators, including those who are literally unable to create in traditional ways. In addition to more visibility to disabled/neurodivergent creators, it would be really helpful to get more sensitivity/warnings on games added in (such as for photosensitivity, audio grating, etc), even if they have to be volunteer added tags!

As a disabled creator, I've learned that in order to make partner, I have to sacrifice how well I manage my chronic pain and other chronic illnesses.

I'm disabled on Twitch and I will never Make Partner. Competing against people without physical issues will always place us on the back burner for the Partner program. This needs to change, tremendously. I'm tired of being overlooked because of my physical appearance.

As someone with a chronic illness that's not visible, YES PLEASE! I think it could really help with people understanding what it means to be disabled and how many different types of disabilities there are. It could also be used as a teaching moment for accessibility in games because the amount of times people don't understand what it means is still too high

Agreed. My only concern is for the spotlighted creators who get targeted for harassment, but that's a concern regardless of the marginalized population being centered for once.

Twitch Safety needs to address (penalize) ableist harassment better, too. (Along with racism, queerphobia, etc.)

Being disabled means even though streaming is my only job and I put every ounce of effort in, I get nowhere. I have been streaming over 2 years and it is hard to grow when no one sees your stream as it is at the bottom.

We can't do all the things abled people can do. Why should be be at the bottom of the list with a few viewers because we can't network or do the promotion needed.

I do everything I can and need 3 days bed rest from 1 3 hour stream.

We should have some form of promotion and a homepage for disabled streamers would be nice.

We work harder than you ever could know but get no recognition at all.
