Mute sound / video of recommended streams on the main page, before entering the site, in the settings
I went to the main page of Twitch and automatically, on the main screen, they began to show me a stream of a certain "buster" who was shouting deafeningly. How can you turn off autoplay of such junk content?

This is already available in the BTTV (Better Twitch TV) browser extension.

Twitch recently came out in a video saying you can send feedback to stop recommending things. There is no selection for this autoplay carousel. I don't care about anything in it.

I dont want to hear and see autoloading random top broadcasting from my region while I am opening the twich browser page and trying to log in into account. The content is often inappropriate, rude and obscene, especially in my IP region. Its absolutely unacceptable for my family, children and friends. I do not usually visit top channel with screaming rude persons playing video games.

Nearly 4 years later and I still have to rip my headphones off my head when I go to twitch main page and there's some live stream of heavy metal promoted

When opening Twitch.tv and landing on the home page the featured stream will auto-play. Often times this has been a music/concert stream which has an extremely high volume level. Usually when opening twitch there are no other audio going to my headphones so the change in volume is extremely jarring and actually painful. Having to adjust audio levels or leaving the homepage asap isn't the best experience when opening Twitch.

I want to be able to switch off / stop / not have a seemingly random channel start to play when I access Twitch.
The foul language on many of them, is disgusting. Either you allow / show me how to stop this automatic play when I simply arrive at Twitch, or I remove my account and will not soon be a content provider.

Can you please add a setting to not have some random stream automatically start playing the moment I come to the website? It is so annoying to be blasted with random ******** that I never asked for. I'm just trying to sign in and go look at my following page and that cannot, under any circumstances, be done without first hearing "And noobslayer26 gets him from behind with the epic headshot!". I just don't want it. I want the ability to have absolutely anything else as my welcome page. Thank you.

It's literally wasting their bandwidth and annoying their users. How is this still a thing? Auto-play needs to GTFO! Auto-muting needs to GTFO!

I log onto Twitch, and the first thing I get is a blaring rant from a user broadcasting a video I did not search for, look for, request, or even press "play" for. If this is an ad for your own video content, please allow people to search, and not get hit by your "most watched" list. I don't want to be a part of a demographic when I'm trying to create content of my own.
The problem lies in who's ads you put up as well. I'm not really willing to work hard putting together green energy program ideas and simulations online if my content gets put before a big oil industry ad put on by a rejected NRA CEO.
If I have to rush to stop a loud playing video, I'd hate to see what a newly paralyzed person has to do to get the volume turned down and the video stopped. (I'm one who likes to err on the side of being polite, and not shove a sales pitch down someone's throat attached to a most watched video stream.)
I'd like to see that my ad dollars go towards companies that have an active interest in supporting the disabled members of the public.
Thank you.

Now you get auto play on entering the twitch.tv. Now when there are music streams and you have headsets on, the music is very very load. It's very unexpected and unpleasant.

YES!!! Please give the option to disable autoplay. It super slows down loading the page when connecting or wifi is bad.

Easily fixed by installing 3rd party tools, but after Amazon bought Twitch they've become pretty hostile towards 3rd party stuff.

This was suggested 3 years ago, why hasn't this been addressed with at least some kind of setting?
