plural tag required
recently, a large amount of tags were added to help identify the streamer, in my eyes a great idea for helping build communities of support. however, since most of these tags were put out suddenly in a large list, some of us feel like a very jarring tag was missed: Plural.
Plurality is a complicated, varied concept, yet still a extremely important identifier for many of us. Currently, the only way for us to tag our plurality is with the "dissociative dissorder" tag, but this is not actually helpful, Dissociative dissorders are also complicated and varied, with many dissociative dissorders having no relation to plurality, and many forms of plurality having no link to dissociative dissorders. I therefore feel that a plural tag is highly required, i also think its important that the many different voices and minds of the plural community are listened to.
Hey there!
Just wanted to post and let you all know that we now have a ‘plural’ tag live on Twitch.
Thank you so much for the feedback on this and please let us know if you have any other tags you would like to see live on the site!

Adding the new tags to help people find others like themselves was a fantastic idea, and as an LGBTQ+ streamer I really appreciate it! I want the same to be true for my Plural friends, who are heavily discriminated against and who would also benefit so much from finding streamers like themselves.

yes. exactly what the garden_system folks said.
dissociative disorders do not necessarily equal plurality, and plurality does not necessarily equal dissociative disorder.
we gentlebeasts are a plural group (please note, we are not a system and being called one is dysphoric for us) who were born naturally plural. we existed as many people sharing a body for as long as this body existed. this is the way we are meant to be, and it is healthy and appropriate, and not disordered. nor is it dissociative in any way.
please allow space for plurals to distinguish ourselves as plural, and do not let the dissociative tag get cluttered up by plurals when it should be only for people who experience dissociative disorders specifically. they deserve their own space, whether they're dissociatively plural or dissociative singlets (non-plurals), and so do we.

This is such a good idea and an important one to take into account. Plurality is so misunderstood, and often regarded as "fake" (not a shock given pop culture's portrayal of plurality), and having a plural tag would allow for plural streamers to find and support one another, and for people who support plural people to find more streamers to support.

From a singlet, this tag is necessary. Plural systems deserve to be able to find each other.

Plurality is an identity that's very socially stigmatized; we know very few systems who are open about their identity outside of online spaces. We make up greater than 1% of the general population, yet we have very little community offline.
A plural tag on Twitch could be huge for community formation!

With the introduction of all these new tags related to things like gender, race, ability, and more, I think that a "plural" tag would make a great addition. This tag would allow members of the plural/multiple community to distinguish themselves, as well as facilitating searching to connect with each other, which has become more and more necessary as time has gone on and awareness has grown. Doing so would also help us feel more welcome and included on the platform, and as said in the blog post, share who we are with the community at large.
