Make Art/Creative its own directory

Hey all!
We’re excited to announce that we’ve rolled out the new Creative directory today!
As we mentioned before, the Creative directory features creators in our artistic categories including Art, Beauty & Body Art, Food & Drink, Makers & Crafting, and Software & Game Development. This will make it easier for both viewers that want to discover creators in these categories and creators looking to find and connect with others who stream creative content.
We expect these directories to continue to grow over time, so please keep the ideas coming. And if you believe an existing category is missing from this list, please let us know.
Thank you for all your feedback and as always we look forward to more of it. We’re looking forward to seeing you, your communities, and your creativity in the new directory!

If you want to break up the Creative category you can rename it to Arts-n-Crafts. Anything that doesnt fit with that could move to IRL.

Twitch keeps shafting creative streamers time and time again. Really sick of it.
There's a competitor out there for creatives, it's called PICARTO if you wanna get switching. Has all the basic features Twitch such as subscriptions and Emotes (you get a TON of slots) but Picarto is FOR creators, and even has a mature filter if you wanna draw something "saucy"
Just showing Twitch we can take our audience viewership elsewhere. -

I've spent the last 4 years hanging out in Creative and Art and people are STILL surprised when I mention it's even a thing on Twitch. Please don't make it even harder for people to find out that art exists on Twitch. It's just as legitimate as any other category. Don't make folks work harder, especially during a pandemic, when things are already difficult enough. Thanks.

Having a Creative directory for Art, Makers & Crafts, Beauty & Body Art, etc. would be a great asset for every aspect of the Twitch community. For users, it would connect them to tight-knit communities based on their shared passions. For streamers, it would bolster discoverability. And for Twitch, it would provide integral support for a section of Twitch whose audiences comprise a high percentage of subscribers and bit donators. Twitch has graciously supported its creative community in the past, and we would love to see this feature implemented for our mutual success in the future!

if twitch doesnt value creatives on its platform i will advise my artist friends to move to other streaming sites 🤷♂️ not sure why creative has been getting the short end of the stick the past few years. would love some insight from twitch staff

Art/Creative really doesn't fall under any of the suggested categories imo. Sure, some art is made IRL, but that's it, and then it gets drowned in just chatting content.

im an artist and i stream a lot of art and so do a lot of people and it deserves its own catergory. Why can music have it an not art ? That's not fair
Why do you keep not caring about artists on your platform ? We cant draw artistic nude even if its not of pornographic nature and now this ? we can never be found like this -

Please bring creative back. Artists need this

I miss Creative. Splitting it up made it worse.

I miss the old directory so much. I rarely get any new viewers if I stream while I work anymore so I rarely do it. They keep telling us that we are an important part of twitch but then we get shoved further under the rug.

What was formerly known as Art/Creative on Twitch is at least as versatile if not far more so than Music. To throw it together with Chatting, ASMR or some such is a joke, to be honest.
The art community on Twitch contains from amateurs to professionals with international standing. From Animation to Illustration to Craft to Game Development, and much more.
Many people that stumble across a creative streamer are surprised to find something like that on Twitch. And often happy to do so. And stumble is pretty much the only way to find creative streams anymore as it is now.People like seeing other people create. It inspires them to get creative themselves, to work alongside the stream, to find lost motivation again.
And the live interaction with the streamer brings the opportunity to ask questions and learn. Which is something I see a lot in Creative streams. And most artists are more than happy to do little impromptu tutorials for their viewers. All that gets neglected by Twitch, although they once even promoted Creative streams with its own hashtag on Twitter and such.
I am sure they could reach a much wider audience if they made it easier to find art and creative streams on their platform. -

You -really- need an art directory. I just can't believe that artists, who use social media and streaming plenty, get so ignored when being considered for discoverability when its literally our livelihood most of the time. You've got to fix this.

Music has its own category, but not creative/arts?
Music and art are both of artistic and creative nature, and both deserve their individual categories. Or at the very least, combine these two in an appropriate category instead of lumping either into the mediocrity that is the majority of the IRL section.

Y'all have space to make art/creative it's own button. Lumping into IRL will greatly diminish discoverability for artists. You say this feature is to help with discoverability, so go on ahead and fix that. Give art it's own section, just like you did Music.
Thank you.

Your Creative community, which has been variously thriving and struggling for half a decade now, is a valuable and unique asset for Twitch. Especially with people focusing on art and hobbies in quarantine, Creative brings in and builds loyal, long-term subscriber communities.
Featuring the best of your Creative streamers can let you show an aspect of Twitch that is not only for the widest range of age demographics, but provides cultural and societal value. It could present a much different and attractive aspect of Twitch to the majority of people who think your brand's just about teens yelling at Fortnite.
"Come see and learn how to paint, or crochet, or sculpt with clay while you can actually talk with the artist and join their community instead of just passively watching a video." This is something nobody else has a living, active section of. It would be good for Twitch to promote, grow, and demonstrate that they value it. -

1. People won't know that artists and other creatives exist on this platform just by the name "IRL". They can easily find music artists though since they have their own category which even allows them to distinguish by genre... imagine if you gave that same care and consideration to other artists which also have a diverse range to offer.
2. Even by clicking on IRL, creatives and artists are likely to be buried under unrelated and significantly different categories like Just Chatting, ASMR, Talk Shows, etc. This makes it harder for discoverability and doesn't give artists and creatives equal footing to grow their audience like when Creative was promoted as its own category.

ShadowVanDark commented
Burying Art (12k viewers as of the time of writing) within the Just Chatting category (415k viewers right now) would crush the discoverability of artists and musicians alike and be counter-intuitive to what the option presents itself to resolve (discoverability).

It makes me sad that this have to be requested to be honest.

The beauty community is struggling in Just chatting. Separating all the creative channels into their own category will help every creative channel survive.

The Art community on Twitch is too big and diverse to be put in the IRL section, creative streamers deserve their own directory so that they're easier to find. A lot of Twitch users (broadcasters/viewers/lurkers etc.) are only interested in the creative section, which will get buried underneath very different types of broadcasts under the IRL section. Please consider doing what you were doing in 2015 and give us creative broadcasters a better chance of growing and expanding.
