Twitch category name collision
Currently two (or more) games with the exact same name (usually reboots) share the same category in Twitch. And all the cover art, description, tags are taken from only one of the games. This usually means that the other game(s) effectively completely lacks a page on twitch, despite being a completely different game and having unique gameplay. Can something be done about this?

Dauntless seems to be shown twice in Twitch. I am a streamer of the game and others are misclicking the false category of Dauntless. I have even seen it for the new game Nightingale.

Complete agree with this needing to be taken care of. I've been streaming a game called Shrapnel, the FPS web3 game, but after my stream is complete the platform automatically switches to another Shrapnel game category (something with a cannon for the picture). Very frustrating when trying to gain awareness and eyeballs on a new up and coming game that I'm playing pre-alpha stage and it's not categorizing correctly on the platform.

I'd like to echo a report for the name collision of Shadowrun (2007). Shadowrun (2007) is an FPS game, whereas the only Shadowrun category displayed on twitch is the pen and paper game. There is a sizeable community that plays and streams Shadowrun (2007) every day.
Without this collision addressed, we may not be able to reach new & interested audiences appropriately. I'm sure the die hard pen & paper Shadowrun community would also appreciate us not crashing their category!

I'm here to back up @3MERGx and @FF5Ninja's comments.
The 'This Is Shadowrun' discord community has over 3500+ members, and more are coming through all the time. We all play the PC/XBOX cross play 2007 Shadowrun.
This collision needs to be fixed so that we can stream to the correct crowd. Thank you!

Following up FF5Ninja’s request, we’re hoping Twitch sees this and helps us by manually fixing the name collision for the Shadowrun FPS. Adding the year it released “2007” to a new game or “FPS” to differentiate it from the pen & paper/RPG games.

It is already in IGDB and just needs to be separated into its own category on Twitch.

Hello there,
i like to play and stream this game on twitch but if i choose the categorie it always switch to the other game, named FILAMENT. (https://www.igdb.com/games/filament--1)
So the VOD appears in the wrong categorie...Maybe you have another idea for separating those two games?!
Thany You.

Hi, I would like to report name collision for the game "Serum". There are two games in the category section with the same name and people (but also twitch app) are making mistakes to choose the right one when categorize their gameplay. Twitch app even redirect from a good cover to a bad game category. That Serum mobile game is not active, now it is a premiere of PC survival game Serum and that's the one players are streaming.

Having the same problem recently with Inscryption: I'm playing the original game but on the VODs it links the demake one with the same name and it's impossible to fix this. I suggested a change on the demake's name on IGDB but it has been declined.

How did the same game end up in multiple categories in the first place? That doesn't even make sense, how weird.

The 'remastered' Dwarf Fortress is just the 'original' Dwarf Fortress after years of continual updates. They are the same game. There should be separate categories for them. Additionally, having Adventure mode be listed as a separate category doesn't made sense - there aren't separate categories for singleplayer and multiplayer modes of most games, so why have Adventure Mode of Dwarf Fortress treated as a separate game?

I voted there. Having them all separate like that just makes things a mess. Great game. I got the basics down and am getting used to it bit by bit. Cheers!

Dwarf fortress and all of it's modes of gameplay, as well as its last year's update, are a singular game, that should have a singular category.
Please reconsider this incorrectly designated split.
