Bring back the General Touhou Category
The Touhou Category got removed or renamed, removing it would be very detrimental to the community on twitch.
Thank you for letting us know about this! We’ve restored this category and fixed its followers. Sorry for the frustration!

Touhou as a broad category covers a good majority of what Touhou games are. The current categories won't fill in the gap left behind by getting rid of the general category.

So i'ma keep it real here, sorry if I'm possibly being too hard on Twitch here.
Why has it been that as of late Twitch is just jumping many steps back? What does removing the general Touhou category do for them? Touhou itself is definitely popular enough to warrant keeping it and even if it wasn't, the general category helps for people that don't want to have to manually keep switching games when doing things Touhou related.
Hoping for it to be brought back, lowkey annoyed at how this is one of Twitch's numerous bad decisions this last month.

Touhou isn't just Touhou: Genso Rondo Bullet Ballet, it's a series of games that are all grouped together. Taking away the general category is like giving us a game console without buying any games to play on it. The fans' voices will be heard, and we will get it back. If we don't, expect a large decrease in streamers and viewers, because you will have broken our trust and hearts.
So please, don't make it ******* us, because that'll mean you're making it ******* yourselves, too.
Signed, A very sad Twitch user.

I just counted ~76 Touhou game categories on Twitch on a VERY quick glance and let me tell you, that is but a drop in the ocean that is Touhou games. It's simply unsustainable to use single game categories.

Touhou having a unified category is the only way most fan games would have a category, please bring it back.

Touhou is more than a game series, but also encapsulates over 20 official games and spin-offs, dozens if not hundreds of fangames, and plenty more creative and derivative content and fan-work outside of the individual titles.
Having a blanket "Touhou" category is extremely useful not only for discoverability in the massive Twitch landscape, but also as a means to contain all the many other facets of Touhou that cannot be defined by the mainline game titles.
Please restore the Touhou category to help content creators in all parts of the Touhou fanbase, and prevent fracturing and granularity of game titles from making this already niche series impossible to find on Twitch.
Thank you!

"Touhou" as its own category should absolutely stay. As others have mentioned, if nothing else it's a suitable catch-all for the absolute mountain of games that make up the series, officially and unofficially. Besides that, there are several regular channels, events, and shows that cover more than a single game in a single broadcast.
I'm not sure what instigated this change. The only thing I can think of is due to "STG Shmups" getting its own general category (a wise decision, by the way), someone decided that Touhou no longer needed one of its own. If that's the case, the crossover of Touhou fans/players and general Shmup players is not as neat as that. Not remotely. Many fans don't care about shmups or bullet hells outside of the series, and there are more then a few hardcore shmup fans that don't give a single care about Touhou.
The general Touhou tag was good for your broadcasters and viewers. Please consider putting it back in place.

The Touhou category was extremely practical to those of us who streamed these games, and we pretty much owe our community to the existence of this category. There are many games in the Touhou series, and individually browsing through every single game one by one, not to mention the fangames which will basically have no chance of being discovered now, would artificially split our community apart and make finding new streams so much harder. The creation of the Touhou category back in 2014 reflected the fact that when it came to Twitch and streaming these games, the series itself was the main interest, as opposed to individual games.
Please bring back the category, it single handedly gave us our community and is how we are still growing it to this day.

I love the touhou games. People that play them should be able to be found easily with a touhou tag

The only streamers I watch on twitch are touhou streamers I donate a lot of bits and a lot of gifted subs with out touhou streamers I have 0 reason to do it please bring back this category so that the hard working streamers can still get what they have earned

I completely agree.
I love to support the streamers who play it. I love to just take a look at the Touhou category and see who is playing what. Taking out the Touhou category is going to make it harder for those streamers to get the support they deserve.
Please change it back :(

There are far too many official games, let alone fan games, to be able to maintain any cohesiveness with the fandom without a common category to hang our streams off of.

Bring it back, we need it!

Similar to other popular series like Pokémon, a lot of people wish to watch and discover streamers under the entire series.
But it doesnt just stop there as with the case of Touhou there is also the creative freedom regarding fan created content including fangames which with the huge amount you cant possibly create an entire new directory for each niche game sold at a Comiket booth.
These along with other reasons are why reverting the category back to the general "Touhou Project" category is of importance, just like how it previously was. -

Yes yes absolutely yes! Ever since ATK made this category back in 2014 it's brought the whole touhou community together, before this everyone was scattered over tons of different categories for official games and fangames and that change brought touhou streaming into a golden age. ATK made the category outwith the giantbomb database by popular demand from a reddit post here: https://web.archive.org/web/20150721075047/https://www.reddit.com/r/touhou/comments/2e4xr5/hello_atk_from_twitch_here_i_would_like_to/ (his account has since been deleted). We don't want to go back to the dark ages, bring back touhou!

Post doesn't have enough context.
Here's the context as to why the category was added in the first place:http://removeddit.com/r/touhou/comments/2e4xr5/hello_atk_from_twitch_here_i_would_like_to/

Touhou consists of a lot of small official- and fangames, and streamers very often hop between games. This general category is very useful for viewers to find streams, and for streamers to be visible to new people. I hope the staff at Twitch can take note of this and reintroduce the "Touhou" game category.

It's much easier to find streamers for a less popular series like Touhou if all the streams are under a single category than having to search each category individually.

This "Touhou" category was used for anything related to the franchise, by making this change you limited what can be streamed to just this one fanmade game instead of everything it was used for before.
Instead of having one umbrella category this will scatter streams to one of the many obscure game specific category. As the franchise has more than 20 games and a huge amount of fanmade games you can easily imagine how this is an issue, especially since we used to have one "hub" for everything which was this "Touhou" community.
